You gotta have pie in Pietown, New Mexico!
Today we drove from Globe, Arizona, to Tularosa, w Mexico (see yesterday’s post here). We woke up early, aware we had a long drive ahead of us. We headed north out of Globe via Highway 60. We said goodbye to the Suhuaro and prickly pear cactus as we climbed rapidly into the mountains.
Our trip today took us from Globe, Arizona, to Tularosa, New Mexico.
After an hour or so we dropped into the beautiful Salt River Canyon along some twisty and windy roads. We soon stopped for some photos.

“This is a rare Ferves Ranger, a derivative of Fiat company, has a 500cc Fiat engine and drive components.
Between 1966 to 1971 There were only approx. 600 of this made, only about 50 known to be found, and only about 8 to 10 in the U.S.
This one is in excellent running condition, and drive fantastic.
This would be a perfect addition to a micro car collection or for a beach or mountain buggy.
Has current California title and personalized plate.”

(03/23/2016) Nice vintage CJ-5, though the tails lights don’t look stock. But, that’s trivial.
“1961 CJ-5 Bone Stock / Totally un-molested. F-Head 134 Hurricane 4 Cylinder / 3 Speed Transmission T 18 twin shift transfer case. Everything on the jeep works. Jeep has new springs and shocks, shackle nuts and bolts and Fresh a oil change.The heater even works, but will need the heater core replaced. It has a small drip. Hard top is in great condition, one of the best hard tops I have ever seen. As you can see from the pictures there is slight surface rust on the hard top, just scratches. The body is very straight. The jeep has always been kept in garage. The body has minor rust as you can see from the picture. At some point in its life the jeep received a matching sky blue second paint job. The passenger side floor board is the worst and will need to be fixed, but this a pretty simple job. Tires have good tread and I have a spare pair of studs.
I was thinking modifying this jeep, but I can’t bring myself to molest a Jeep this nice. It’s a true survivor It’s almost impossible to find a 55 year old CJ-5 in this condition. I’m looking for a Tuxedo Park Mark IV. Drive it home tomorrow or tow it with the tow bar. Bring a 2″ Ball. I drive this Jeep every weekend to Garage Sales. I bought it from the original owner with 34,000 miles. They put $2,000 worth of work into it in 2014. Water Pump, Battery, Radiator, Fuel Tank, New Carb, Fuel Line, New Fan Belt, Ignition, Starter, Etc. Etc. Etc. I also have pristine period correct collectors license plates I might throw in for the right price. I also have a Dana 30 front axle with discs and completely rebuilt and restored Ramsey PTO winch. I would have to adjust the price if you wanted me to include these too.
$6,000 OBO or trade for a Tuxedo Park Mark IV CJ5 or CJ6 I will give you cash to make up the balance if the Tuxedo Park if it’s really nice.”

“1946 Willys Jeep frame off restoration, body was sand blasted, undercoated, and painted. It has completely new wiring that has been upgraded to 12v. New carburetor, steering joints, seats, windows, tires and a lot more. Tires and rims are era correct. It runs and drives great. It comes with a trailer that has also been sandblasted and painted to match. The trailer has the original pintle hitch and the turn and stop lights work. A lot more work and parts have been put into both the trailer and the Jeep than what was listed here.”

This racing jeep is for sale. It has been in storage for quite some time ,but fired right up and will be a killer start for someone looking to get into the racing game. Back in the day it was built by a guy in Ellington CT named Mel Sherette of Mels Auto Body. At the time he was mopping up all kinds of big bad V8s with this Jeep and Im sure with a little work it still will. Built Buick 231V6 W/Turbo 400 ,Dana 44s ,Desert Dogs and a set of Paddles. Lots and lots of custom work done to this jeep . Willys pick up or wagon front tilt clip molded to a home made cj type rear body . Full cage and harnesses . Kinda old school vintage racer dual points and all but could be a real killer with a few modern updates . Would be right at home on short tracks ,courses ,sand drags ,hillclimbs , or would be a great candidate for some ice racing . I will be happy to supply detailed pics to anyone interested . $4500 OBO

No papers ! I checked with DMV before I purchased a few years ago, this vehicle is not in the system, so no problem registering. I internet searched vine #, best I could come up with is 1960-61 year model.
It’s simple, the first person to show up with a trailer, or way of getting it off of my property as is, with prior arrangements, takes it. After Wednesday, it’s gone.’

“I have a 1941 Willy’s Jeep for sale. I will be honest the Jeep got hit by a tree. Landed right on top of it. I believe it can still be repaired enough to drive. I had it running about 7 years ago while I was home on leave from the Army, but I have not touched it since. Look at the pictures and you will see the damage is pretty bad, but like I said you can fix it or use it for parts. Everything is there except the windshield that was smashed by the tree. If they do not come get it by Wednesday then its still for sale. ”

I think this is the fourth CJ-6 hardtop I’ve seen listed this year.
“I got this with the jeep I bought. Just found out that this is a Koenig model 620 and only fits a CJ6. We just tried to mount it on a 1974 cj5 and it was too long. Back corners are squared off , cj5 tub has rounded corners. Sorry for past confusion but just found the Koenig tag. Has slide up and down windows in doors. All the glass is good except back window is cracked and metal is super straight . Very rare. Not many cj6’s out there $750 Obo email or call if interested.”

“NEEDS ASSEMBLY. I paid almost $3500 for this Jeep. I only test drove once after purchasing. 350cid, Chevy engine and Chevy 4-spd tranny, transfer-case, and axles. Chrome wheels. Needs work- I built “tuned headers” from old pair I had to fit frame. Needs drive-line repair and assembled. I have ALL parts shown in picture to make look like picture again. “Ok sorry to anyone who showed interest before, I was working a lot and missed a few phone calls, so finally got to go over this cj6, it is a 1966 and has a clean clear title, Buick v6 with a manual 4 spd trans, it is the rare long wheel base passenger seat in back with bed behind it, good hard top and all glass is good, driver seat needs redone, has been sitting for a year, brakes are free and work good, drained the gas tank, and cleaned fuel lines, new fuel filter, waiting on a battery but should fire right up, it did run on started fluid to load on trailer. UPDATE new battery, it starts and runs and drives, all lights work too”

“LOOKING FOR A 1969 ELCAMINO
Awesome 1959 Willys Wagon Pro Street with a professionally built full square-tube chassis and a Mustang 2 front end with rack and pinion steering. 4 piston Willwood disc brakes all around. Car was completley re-wired front to back. Has a studder box. Has an ARC switch panel and a remote panel for outside! The 14 point cage was certified for 8.50s about 20 years ago. Originally a drag car now converted to a 9.0 second pro street car. It has a full roller, blown small block 400 punched to a 406 with an 8 quart oil pan, Full Eagle rotating assembly. Dart pro 2 heads. 230cc intake runners. Hartland 1.5 roller rockers with stud girdle. MSD ignition, and Wiend 671 Blower . Included are two 750 demon blower carbs and Dart 230 pro heads. I have 21K in the engine alone. Has NOS (never hooked up, never tried). The trans is a built Turbo 350 with a 3500 stall converter. Also has a 15 gallon fuel cell, wheelie bars and fan cooled oil and trans oil coolers under the rear. Dana 60 with 4.10s and detroit locker. Engine and trans have about 1200 miles on them. There was also a 5 page article done on it in RODS & RIDES magazine a few rears back.
Wheels and Tires: Front and rear wheels are Draglites. Rear tires are Mickey Thompson 33×19.5×15 Sportsman Pros. Front tires – Front Runners
HP 700-850 And that’s without the 250 shot of Nitrous. ”

Several hundred dollars recently put into the jeep for tune-up and other odds and ends after a significant amount of time & money getting it running nearly ~15 years ago (new brakes, shocks, rubber, carb work, etc). (10/06/2013) “Must sell my beautiful flatfender jeep, very nicely rebuilt including many, many new parts. All stock except for it was converted to 12 volts with an alternator. My first car was a ’47 Willys CJ2A, which I bought when I was 16 and sold when I was 26 because I needed a truck for my business. This Jeep was an attempt to recapture the good ol’ days, which really aren’t that easy to get back at 59! My attention is now on restoring a Jeep FC 170 and I need to sell the old ’46 to finance the project. It’s got a clear title and is ready to run.”
