Marty gave me a heads up about this barrel racing event at the Cowlitz County Fairgrounds. He’ll be racing with the racer he just purchased. Good luck!
Photographs of Flight Attendants 1943-44 on eBay
These two photos are a part of a package of photos.
” Group of nine photographs of American Airlines stewardesses date from 1943 and 1944. The lot consists of a 7 x 9″ photograph, six 3 1/2 x 5″ photographs and two 3 1/4 x 4 1/2″ snapshots. The top photograph is signed Frances Howley and dated June, 1943, on the reverse. The large photograph is dated 3 – 8 – 44 on the reverse. There is no identification on the backs of the remaining photos. An early Willys Jeep is seen in two of the photographs, most likely taken in front of an American Airlines terminal.
The overall condition of the lot is good. Only the large photograph is damaged, with a tear at the top, right corner as shown in the scan. The smaller photographs are in very good, clean condition. The large photograph is shown actual size in the scan. The smaller photographs are shown enlarged.”

FJ out of Fresno CA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was listed at $2800
A reader contacted me after investigating this FJ. Supposedly this is all fixed up, runs great, and looks beautiful. The only things missing are the VIN, the pink slip and the title. Eventually, after the reader noted that, the seller offered to halve the price.
Does anyone recognize this vehicle? Could it be a little hot? Or, maybe the seller was just desperate to sell it.
BTW, if anyone knows of any FJs in California, let me know. I have a potential buyer.

1947 CJ-2A Crawler Nebraska $6500
Yikes! This might have been an authentic CJ-2A at some point . . .
“Very cool 1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep project for sale. I have had this jeep for 16 years and have recently started working on it again. I have lots of projects and am considering parting with this one if the price is right. This is an authentic 1947 Willys CJ2A and it is mounted on a 1974 Ford F250 Hiboy frame with Dana 60 Front and Rear Axles. The jeep is currently mocked up with a Chevy 454, Chevy SM420 4 Speed Granny Low Transmission, and Ford SM205 Divorced Transfer Case. We are very close to having it able to run and drive and have all parts necessary to do so including driveshafts. The project currently has 8 lug aluminum wheels with 36″ Goodyear Mud Terrain Tires (old but good shape still). I have suspension seats with brackets and mounting hardware for the front and a jeep forward folding rear seat. The CJ2A has been extended roughly 12″, cut was made at the mid-door seam and new diamond treadplate floor has been installed. I recently started fabbing the rollcage and front fenders and plan to make rear fender extensions to match the with of the fronts.”

1947 CJ-2A Project Caro, MI $3900
There’s value here, but without a body I’m afraid the seller is going to take a hit on this project.
“1947 Jeep CJ2a. Started restoration from frame up. Have sandblasted and chassis black all steel support items. All parts are either bead blasted and painted , rebuilt or new. Every nut bolt and clip has been removed cleaned and painted. Too many new parts to list. Has clean title and vin on frame. CJ-3B Hardtop Bethel, OH **SOLD**
CJ-4 Registration from 1955
Colin writes, “This week, I received from Miguel Ordorica Jr., another Willys friend of mine in Michigan, a copy of the 1955 Ohio Registration form made out to his father, Miguel Ordorica for the 1951 Jeep, Model # CJ-4, Serial Number 01, having engine number 4J 49624. Miguel’s father owned this vehicle from April 13, 1955 until his passing in 1967, at which time Miguel’s mother sold it and a trailer to a man in Michigan. From another source, Derek Redmond’s CJ3B page, I found information that Miguel’s father bought the CJ-4 directly from Willys Overland for $300 and a photocopy of the title was in that info. See the attached scan0011. Miguel’s father was in charge of Willys Chassis Development for many years.”
Found on the cowl of a M-38A1
Paul discovered this plate on the driver’s side cowl of his M-38A1. Anyone know what it does?
Paul writes, “1952 m38a1-thought this was some sort of id plate at first. Looked inside glove box, has a backing plate and bondo fills the holes. any idea what was mounted? thank you.”

1963 CJ-3B Chelsea, OK **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Looks like a solid CJ-3B.
“fter much thought and prayer I’ve decided to put my Jeep up for sale.I’m the third owner and have known this Jeep since new.It belonged to my Uncle’s neighbor,he bought it new,he was old in the 70’s when I was kid.I lost track of it for a while, but it turned out didn’t go to far and i got to buy it. I’ve owned it fifteen years and had lots and lots of fun in it. Hunting trips, trips to Colorado 4 wheeling in the mountains in SE Ok. but I’m going to sell it and use the money for my buisness. This Jeep is mostly all original except for a new correct Carter YF carb, headlight switch, dimmer switch and a few things like that.Has a fairly new set of 700×15 mud and snows, probally not more than 3000 miles on them. Had just very, very little rust under the gas tank that was fixed when painted, been in Ok. all its life and kept inside a lot of the time. I put new brake shoes on it 4 or 5 years ago.I would not afraid to drive this Jeep anywhere,it has failed to start one time in fifteen years,I let the battery go dead.It has been dependable, dependable. Drive it as far as you can on a back road and shut it off,it will start when you get back. It roads out really well for an old Jeep it will run 55 down the highway pretty easy,I’ve took a lot of twenty five mile hi-way trips in it. . . ”
1948 CJ-2A Dayton, OH **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,000!
(07/12/2012) Really Nice!
“Fully restored 1948 CJ2A Four Wheel Drive Willys Jeep.
Everything works and is in great condition, even has the original factory color!
This show Jeep is even an AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) 1st Place winner!!!
Originally the Jeep came from a country estate in Pennsylvania and it NEVER had any rust on the body!
My Father did a full body off restoration 4 years ago and it has been sitting in his clean, dry basement (he drained the gas) ever since.
As you can see from the picture the vehicle only has 27.5 miles since he finished restoring it… this has to be one of the nicest Jeeps in the entire country!!!”
