I’ve been busily working on the eWillys App, learning more than I care to know about Phonegap, JSON, YQL, jquery mobile, and more.
I can’t wait to get back to writing rather than programming!
UPDATE: Still Available.

The Great Willys Picnic Show and Swap Meet: learn more here http://www.cj3a.info/picnic/
June 10, 2012 from 9 am – 4 pm at the Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Railroad, located in Kempton, Pennsylvania
It’s time to plan for the 13th annual Great Willys Picnic, Car Show and Swap Meet. All vehicles are welcome: stock, modified, projects, CJs, Wagons, Trucks, Jeepsters, Military, Cars and even GPWs! Every pre-1970 Willys vehicle is eligible to win door prizes. This show has grown into the largest Northeast Willys event. Over 45 vehicles and hundreds of enthusiasts were present at last year’s picnic. There is plenty of space for selling your spare parts in the swap meet area. Bring your Willys memorabilia and interesting parts for show and tell. Be sure to arrive early because at 3:00 PM the door prize winners are announced and awarded. Bring your own picnic lunch or purchase food at the refreshment stand.
The Picnic will be held on the grounds of the Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Railroad located in the scenic village of Kempton, Pennsylvania. This is a great setting to display our classic Willys vehicles, as well as entertainment for the entire family. Also on-site is the Schuykill & Lehigh Model Railroad Club’s HO model train display.
As always the Willys Picnic, Show and Swap is free. Plan to take the optional train ride for a very reasonable fee.
The fact that this body has a drain hole by the step, but no gas inlet is a little puzzling. It has full floaters in the rear, but also has a tail gate. The windshield is CJ-2A. The hood and fenders are civilian, while the grille is ww2. This appears to be a mutt of a jeep to me.
“1941 Jeep Willys… The world war two 4×4 original ! Engine was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago and have documentation for rebuild…
It is a very cool ride to have. Had it sitting for a few years in storage( inside)
It has an electric fuel pump but still has all original equipment too.
Runs good and needs to be registered if you plan on driving on the street…
It has the original Tire setup also….. a true piece of history you can drive and show off.
Paint is worn a bit but virtually no rust….
Ive posted pics for you to see, havent even washed it ! lol It has a TOW bar so you can pull behind RV or Truck…
Needs a battery and thats all !
Only serious buyers ! no Low-ballers….. remember, this is a piece of American History”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000
This needs a motor.
“Up for sale is my super cool 1947 Willys CJ2A. First off, it does need an engine and is currently not running, but won’t be too expensive to get it going. It’s got a Chevy 350 V8 with a SM420 4 spd manual transmission with granny gear. Dana 20 transfer case, Dana 44 rear diff with welded spiders and stock front diff. Has new Warn hubs on all 4 wheels for flat tow and includes a tow bar. Tub and floor is coated with Truck bed coating. Tires are brand new 33x1250x15 Mastercraft Courser M/T mudders and have maybe 200 miles on them if even that much. Chevy 350 engines are easy to find and can usually be bought in running condition for $500 or less. This Willys has a fiberglass hood, but I also have 2 original steel hoods for an extra $200. Has electric fuel pump, new tailgate, good windshield. I’ve even done the body work and shot it in primer. I never did shoot paint on it becasue I thought it looked cool in primer. Has brand new racing seats mounted on steel brackets. This is a cool rig and has been lots of fun for me but I need to make room for other projects. If interested, give me a call or email me through Craigslist. Please don’t bother me with spam or trying to scam me. I won’t fall for that crap. I would consider offers and am willing to sell without the new tires and wheels for $1600. Not willing to part this rig out. I may consider trades, just let me know what you have. Please don’t offer me junk.”
I’d like some bigger pics.
“One of a kind, very rare, the ultimate show jeep but built to crawl. This jeep is brand new from the ground up. Original 1955 cj-3b body on cj-5 frame. Built AMC 304 (tons of torque), Automatic 3 speed w/chetta speed shifter, high stall torque converter, wrapped headers with dual exhaust, remote transmission cooler. 35-10.5-15 micki thompsons on American racing rims, custom center console with all new gauges, split shift dana to control front and rear diffs indepently. It has less than 1000 miles on this beast (still has the fuzzies on theU tires). Drives straight down the road at 65 mph. This jeep was built to show and has never even seen a dirt road. I have all the sponsor sheets from the previous owner. The jeep was appraised in July 2011 (for insurance) and received 100 out of 100 points at $35,000. I have the original build sheets showing over $20k in parts alone, not including the parts I have added. Search the internet and you will not find another of this type that even comes close. No reasonable offer will be refused. I hate to see it go because I know I will not own another vehicle of this caliber. I can’t take it anywhere without someone asking for a picture. Nothing has been untouched. This vehicle is insured through state farm for the full 35k, they would not do this unless they knew it was truly worth every penny. 25,000 obo. or possible trade for newer, low mileage Toyota Tacoma or 4door rubicon.

This doesn’t run.
“One of the first civilian jeeps made, actually made in 1948. Has not run for a few years but will with a little work. Needs gas tank fixed and a fuel pump. Call or text Cam @ 604 319 0374”
A couple small tears in the back, but otherwise look good.
“I have a set of original seats which came out of a 1949 Willys Jeepster in good condition. You can tell from the pictures there are two fairly large tears in the top of the back seat but otherwise they are in good shape. Includes front drivers seat and small passenger seat plus both top and bottom of the back seat. I have no additional hardware that isn’t pictured or attached to the seats but all mounting brackets appear to be intact. Asking $400 or best offer. Perfect for restoring to original!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was For Trade

I’m curious to know if the plaque from 1954 on the dash reflects a motor pool upgrade.
“Original 1943 Military Jeep/ Willys Has all old equipment. Plaques on dash show origin and second plaque shows military update in 1954 to overhead carb. Hood has square box they made to accommodate it. Good tires, upholstery, engine, tranny and brakes all professionally gone over. Needs gas pump.”
This looks pretty solid.
“1946 CJ2A Willys Jeep. A frame off amateur restoration about ten years ago with a lot of new parts added in that time frame. The electrical system and starter has been converted to a 12 volt system. The jeep was inspected last year and drove last year. I purchased a CJ7 recently and need to get rid of this one for a reasonable price. $4600 or best reasonable offer. Email is the best contact method.”
Lots of mods. Still some work left.
“1954 cj3-b project, lots of time and money into this one. Narrowed dana 60 front end and narrowed corporate 14 bolt rear end, power 4 way disc brakes, cross over steering, detroit lockers front and rear, new sheet metal, sm 465 4 speed and a dana 300 transfer case, new drive lines, small block chevrolet , new aluminum radiator,4 new rubicon express spring over springs, and much more. All body work done ready for paint. This is a project, its not a runner yet,its about 70% done, needs someone with more motivation and time than I have for it. $7500 Thanks for looking”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4200
(10/04/2011) Sounds like it has plenty of power. It could really use the back cage braces though (for my taste anyway).
“1945 Willys, new paint its straight, 300hp 350chev, truck trans with granny low, overdrive, posi rear later willys axle, lockrite front, hardtop, needs some completion, may trade for chevelle project vehicles”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000
(11/06/08) I’m really surprised that a jeep like this doesn’t have a roll bar or a cage, given the extras it does have. It’s also rare to see one with four terra tires on it, though the left front one looks a bit low. Given the body is rough, I suspect the price will drop.

One of the updates in the May newsletter from the Bantam Festival folks is that there will be more food. Since I like food, I have to say I’m all in favor of that!

Rob forwarded me the jeep below. It’s an odd melding of a CJ-2A and a Wagon. I’d love to get a closer look to see how various problems were solved.
This jeep is one of several jeeps in different conditions being auctioned, though nothing is in amazing condition. Tools and other vehicles will also be auctioned, including a deuce and a half that looks to me (not being an expert) in very good condition.
The auction takes place on June 16th, 2012, at a place tbd. You can learn more about the auction by Fenbert Auction Services and see the other vehicles at here.
Here’s the oddball CJ-2A/Panel Wagon hybrid:

I’m guessing this doesn’t have the stock motor? This looks solid though.
“1940s Willy Jeep. Not running. Make an offer. Thank you”
This has a fiberglass body.
“Fiberglass body, Buick V6, 3MT, MGB rack and pinion. Original trans, suspension, frame. CNC hydraulics (clutch and brake) need bled. Battery no good. Soft top included. Must sell, moving. 734 973-932four”
This has the four speed. It sounds like this has only had one owner.
“58 willies cab over model 170, four speed trans 8000 lb winch two booms one owner , He has original title and bill of sale . Motor does turn over. $1200.00 No e-mails Call 231-533-8012 thanks for looking.”
This has a F-stamped front cross member. The body has been cruelly dissected.
“Up for sale is a old Ford GPW roller. missing engine, grill, hood, windshield. the hood and windshield do not go with that are in the pictures. this has the full floater rear end, 5:38 gears, tub has been cut to hell but is a true rare Ford. the frame is good but did have a plow. comes with a bill of sale only.
