UPDATE: I initially had this as a front axle modification, which was clearly incorrect (the lack of a stearing knuckle should have been my first clue!)
Thanks to John for putting together the narrative and the images!
“Thought some other folks might find this interesting, especially those that have swapped to the D44 rear axle.
Bob forwarded some links to jeeps from the WW2 In Color website and the Lone Sentry Site.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1400
It needs rewiring finished, but that shouldn’t be too difficult. There’s some value here.
“I have a 1958 Willy’s CJ5 Jeep that was a ranch jeep until it was moved here to Oakdale where we used it in our pastures. Started to rewire it and just never got around to finishing it. Have all the parts, just not the time. You want a project jeep it has an “Odd Fire” V6 that ran pretty strong until I started to rewire it. If you have the time come take a long and if you want to talk price I am willing within reason.
I forgot to add that this does have a hitch for towing the Jeep but since I’ve never towed it on the road I don’t know what the legalities of it are.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $12,000
Charlie is selling his well restored CJ-3B. You can read about the restoration at the CJ-3B Page. It has approximately 3000 miles on it.
This needs some work.
For Sale: 1952 Willys-Overland Military Jeep M-38 Model C
Has been converted to 12volt system

Previous owner painted over OD green with Blue paint (now faded and mostly peeled-off)
Gas tank is completely rusted out.
All three seat frames in Jeep.
4 brand-new tires and inner-tubes.
Rear spare mount and spare with original tire
Flat hood and flat fenders.
