Dont know anything about the jeep I brought it home and put the tires and wheels on it and havent checked it out at all. It has been converted to 12 volt and has locking hubs. “1953 but title says 1943. Has a 302 that was installed and I sold the fenders and grille that was cut for that engine. So now it has the right grille and hood but not cut so the radiator is not installed since I did not want to cut a hard to find jeep part. They only made this jeep from 51 to 53. It does have a M38 top with data plates for the top. Top is something we can deal on and does not go with the jeep. I paid $400 for the top. And the top fits 2A’s and 3A’s. The engine runs. I ran it before I removed the radiator and other grille. Sounded good. I do have the master cylinder for the brakes which is why I never drove it. Has the wrong hood since the M38 hood should have the snorkel and jumper openings on the passenger side of the hood. Body needs a lot of welding and the back wheel wells have seperated on the drivers side since the previous owner did not weld it and just used bondo and fiberglass to keep it together. Its not a lost cause but does need a lot of work. I may have a 4 cylinder which is not a M38 that we can deal on but it needs rebuilt. All in all with some spot welds and brake fixed and radiator installed it could drive. I just have too many projects and not enough time. I would consider partial trade for hunting items or a small trailer that can haul trash and my large 4 wheeler. Something with larger tires and newer with a ramp. As I said the top and 4 cylinder are something we can deal on. This is a rare jeep of the Korean era.”

“This is a 1951 Willys truck that I bought as a project, but after a divorce and being a single parent, I find I don’t have the time or money to fix it up. It currently runs, but as with all old cars, could always use some work. It is currently registered till February. Does not have the original motor trans or rear end, they were converted before I bought it. It has a Dodge 225 slant 6 motor and trans, and a chevy rear end. There is noticeable rust/cancer on both front fenders and along the drip rail molding, and I suspect there is some in the bed, but it has been painted over. I also have a chevy 350 with a 4 bolt main, that I had intended to put in this truck, that I will sell with the truck. Please only contact me if you are serious.”

UPDATE: Dexter forwarded some pics he received. This is pretty beat up. It was originally listed as a MB, however I think this is a mix of parts. The seller wants $800.

This appears to have a later model rear end and windshield. What’s that stick out the rear passenger’s side?

(01/24/2010) It’s a bit dirty, but sounds like it’s in solid shape.
“-I have had it for about a year and a half i put a 4in lift and 34in super swamper ltb tires
-it has a 327 with ported heads, oversized cam, edelbrock carb and intake, newer distributer plugs and wires
-the tranny is a muncie 4 speed out of a 68 camaro, stock transfer case with the warn overdrive lever ( it has 4 shifters total)
-it has stock axles with 5.38 gears
I drive it down the freeway at 60mph and there isnt any shake to it. it has never broke down on me and runs very strong and has more than enough power (i have pulled the front tires off the ground a few times). I have taken it wheelin and it does great but the body has zero dents in it and absolutely no rust what so ever. The only difference from the pics is i put black wheels on it and painted the diamond plate corners black. The paint is in good shape but it does have scratches in the paint. I am sking 4300obo and will consider trades for 95 or newer honda or something like it.”

“I have a project cj2a. It ran a little over a year ago when we started to take it apart to have the body redone. It needs new floor panels. The body and frame match numbers. I have everything for it. I personally just ran out of time. It is at the point where my mom wants it out of our garage. The frame motor trans are in great shape. The fenders are good and the windshield has good glass. It is #14901. Great project. I am asking 900 cash. I would consider partial trades but need at least 600 cash with the trade.”
This looks like it has an updated grille and windshield at the very least. It also has a rear PTO.

This runs though the body is a bit rough.
“Green Willys Wagon, from the last year of production, before they brought out the Wagoneer, as Kaiser Jeep. Original 6 cylinder flat-head engine that I rebuilt a dozen years ago, and haven’t driven all that much since. This one runs pretty well, though I haven’t used in for several years. Body isn’t too bad, but it’d take some work to get it back to really nice condition. Driver’s side floor needs replacing.”

(07/19/20100 Well, it’s a running, driveable GPW with the original engine and tranny.
“This 1943 Jeep is actually made by Ford, not Willy’s. It has the original engine and transmission, and both have been rebuilt; it has a dual, locking transfer case, with low-range for some serious climbing ability; it has fairly new 35” tires; it has a serious “roll cage” for great protection; it has a drop-down tow bar for easy towing; it has an “Ooga” horn; and it was recently painted the eye-catching black and yellow pattern shown below. It’s street legal and off-road ready. Call and buy it if you want to have some major fun.”
