Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It runs and drives, but needs work.
“Runs and drives! Engine is Kaiser Supersonic L-head 161 cid straight-six, runs good, has great low end torque. 6 volt electrical. Brakes work great, new wheel cylinders. Re-cored radiator. New seat frames. Fairly new battery. Has soft-top and hard-top, both in good condition. Hard-top is white, Koenig with roll up windows, all glass is good, no cracks. This is a nice looking CJ-3A, but it isn’t all original except for the 12 volt.
“1953 Willys Jep CJ2A. Completly restored. Excllent condition. Has Two tops ,full cloth and bimini top cloth. Has 5 orginal rims and 4 new larger rims and tires. Has large original winch from the 50’s Drives great. Storing space and My ability to enter and exit the vehicle force me to sell. It has been converted to the 12volt system that is the only thing that is not original, See Photos,call for serious inquries only. For jeep lovers these this vehicle is a must. (10/25/2010) This has the 3 data plates, so it’s a pre #46000ish CJ-2A. The driver’s side has seen a major repair. It also has a rear PTO.

A while back, Tom told me his dad has stories from WWII about flipping Jeeps on their side to work on them. After some digging, he managed to locate this for our viewing pleasure. Many Thanks Tom! See some other tipped jeeps here.

“AL TOY WILLYS JEEP OVERLAND WOODY WAGON. This lovely toy is in overall very good condition it has been played with so does have some paint chips and the roof paintwork is scuffed up. The rear bumper is broken but I do have the piece (i did it taking it of the shelf sorry). I am not sure if the hubcaps are original it is the way it was when i bought it. Decals are in good condition as are the wipers and door handles. I love the feel of this toy it must weigh about six pounds there is great history if you google “toy jeepster”.

“This is a rare barn find! It’s not often you find one of these untouched military jeeps. You are bidding on a 1944 GPW with matching engine and frame numbers. No data tags. Jeep comes with bill of sale only. Although the body is rough, this is a great restoration project. Many original parts are still on the jeep such as spare tire carrier and support bracket. You can still see the original seat cushions (horse hair)along with seat covers on the back seat and driver seat. The jeep sits on four original combat wheels which I believe are still mounted to the original tires. Original hood numbers are visible under the flaking blue paint (will try to uncover the complete number in the morning) All three original Ford seats are still on the jeep. Original script bolts hold the body handles in place. I am putting this jeep up for sale in as found condition; Engine, tranny along with all mechanical components have not been tested but appear to be damage free. Since the jeep is sold as is, I recommend that all interested parties ask all questions and do all their research before placing a bid. For our mutual protection I will except offers through ebay for our mutual protection but please do not wait until the end of the auction to make offers. I will consider any rare jeep parts such as slat grill parts, GP parts etc. as patial trade toward the jeep as I have many other projects. A $1000 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction.”

“1942 WWII Jeep For Sale This is a 1942 Ford (wyllis) GPW Jeep. Completely restored to all original specs. Serial # 64432 with original matching motor. This jeep was delivered on 09/10/1942. This jeep was used by the famous Marine Corps. General , Lewis “Chesty” Puller at Camp Lejeune North Carolina.”

The frame has already been cleaned up. This might be decent price depending on how bad the rust is.

*This has rust and is not in restorable shape* It has been my daily driver for over 9 months. I have recieved about 4 calls and the first question being asked is “Does the tub have rust”. Please consider the cost of the parts included which is well above what I am asking for this fun old willys. Thanks.
This was my daily driver until the electrical went out. In the process of replacing the solenoid, coil and distributor the old 6 volt starter went out. New Solex carb, distributor, coil, solenoid, tie rod set, front knuckle seals, tranny seals, transfer seals, front and rear diff seals, spark plug wires, clutch bell crank kit, brake pedal, clutch cross shaft and new master cylinder. Also included are 4 new shackles with LH and RH thread to replace the “redneck’ lift. A set of new 4 Ubolts for the rear axle. There is a new set of front 8 leaf springs which were supposed to be rear ones but Crown sent the wrong ones. I wanted to change out the wrong rear springs. Radiator needs to be patched driver’s side bottom and a new choke cable along with the starter problem.”
