“WWII Willy’s MB army jeep. Ran when parked 20 years ago.”
Here’s a fine looking early ’46 CJ-2A with the driver side cutouts.
“Straight CJ2A willys jeep mostly all original. L-head (flat head) four cylinder, Custom Cool air intake with K&N air filter , Remote spin on oil filter, GM alternator, Converted to 12 volt, Engine has been recently gone through, replaced rings, main and rod bearings, cam chain and sprocket. Auto machine shop polished crank and miked it, (still within stock tolerance)
Warn 8000lb wench….
I’m really not sure if this is a GPW or an MB. The writing left me confused. It looks nice. I think extending that bottom indent across the bottom of the body is an unusual feature (no doubt, part of a body fix). It appears well put together.

It’s a little rough. This seller also has a 1946 CJ-2A for sale.
“1941 Willys MB military. This is a WWII jeep built just after Pearl Harbor! Ran a few years ago when parked. Top is not correct but included. Good tires! New Battery! 4 cylinder. $3000 obo. Ser. no. 107999. Cash only. No checks. No shipping. No trading. Vehicles located in Napa.”
Lots of good prices on the east coast today. Here’s another one: A running CJ-3B for $1200 (at least, from the description it sounds like it runs).
“1956 Willys Jeep CJ3B. 4cyl 134 cuinch F head motor is good, driveline is solid. Tub is in bad shape where seats (used to be) mounted. Frame is good, and hood, cowl, winshield and frame, front fenders are good. Has original factory heater and full lighting package. Original 6v system. Rear tailgate and rear deck are good. really just needs the tub taken off and re-done.
Has been sitting in a barn waiting for a restore for many years. Call Pat 781-706-7211. No tire kickers please. This is a 50+ year old vehicle that needs work. Thanks for looking.”
The body’s rough, but the price good.
“53′ Willys CJ-3B. Highly sought after year.! Jeep runs and drives. Mechanically restored. Has rebuilt engine, also new fuel pump, water pump, and radiator. New gas tank too.(steel) Carburator recently rebuilt. All new brakes,(shoes, lines, hoses, wheel cylinders)done in last year. Originally six volt electrical system, was converted to 12v. Frame is good, tires have good tread. Top is usable, needs some stitching repaired.Body is rusty, has been patched up. Could be used as is off-road,or put a new “tub” on and finish restoration of this great ol’ Jeep. Asking 1800.00 Reply to ad or call 802-343-0112.”
“Small block 350; Muncie 4-Speed with Warner overdrive. Boxed frame. PRP seats. Small patch of rust on rear of right front fender. 9″ Ford drum brakes. Drives well. Has approximately 359 miles on odometer.”
UPDATE: The price has dropped to $3500
The paint job on this is interesting. The bumper is pretty wild; I guess the jeep was used for pushing?
“The body is in good shape it runs and drives tires are good dont leak has a toe bar on the front with a custom front bumper.”
So, I’m doing my best to avoid going out to my parents very cold, damp garage to finish fixing my mom’s car. Of course, the internet is one of the best avoidance tools ever invented.
FLAT FENDER BABES:
On a lark, I typed in ‘Flat Fender Babes’ into google just to see if anything came up. While most of the links were garbage, one link lead me to a list of significant production automobiles, created by Angry Stan at AngryStan’s blog. Naturally, one of the vehicles listed was the Willys MB. What was interesting about the MB’s inclusion was Stan’s comment that the MB was “very loosely based on the Austin 7”.
Whoa .. news to me. What you talkin’ ’bout Stan?
Here’s a great price on a M-38A1 that includes an Overdrive. It is a project, but it has a variety of interesting parts, including some nice diamond plating, good roll cage and more.
“1956 Willys M38 A1 Project Jeep. $900. Clean title in hand, wont take too much to get her on the trail. Chevy 327 with newer Holly carb. T90 tranny. Dana 18 transfer case with twin stick. Warn overdrive. Dana 44 rear with 5.38 gears and welded spiders. Dana 25 front with 5.38 gears open with full time lock. but locking hubs are fairly cheap. Tilt steering column…..”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $1500.
Here’s an early CJ-3A that’s had a few mods.
“1949 WILLYS JEEP FLAT FENDER 4X4 WITH LOCKOUTS, 3 speed MANUAL TRANS, 4 cylinder, all original,HARD TOP, VERY MINIMAL RUST, RUNS GREAT READY FOR SHOW OR GO, $2500 OBO 304-268-2915 ASK FOR ROY”
“flat fender race jeep body with fenders,& grill lengthened by 8+” narrowed by 12″ $250 firm call”
These hunting jeeps from Texas crack me up. They are certainly unique, each one of them.
“I have a 1965 Willys jeep that is set up for hunting. It has gun racks, bow racks, air drive feeder, adjustable winch w/lights, game basket and much more. Runs good, I am asking $2600 or best offer, I would also consider trade for 250 or larger four stroke dirt bike. Please call with any questions. Thanks.”
The pictures are too far away to tell much about this jeep.
“Sweet 1945 Willys jeep for sale With all the original Front and rear seats 4×4 works great and The engine runs good also. Asking $3500 obo call me if you’re interested.”
This GPW is beat up, but it does have some Ford script on it.
“this is a rare ford gpw like the willys jeeps. it is an early 1940’s vehicle. vehicle ran up until about 6 months ago but the trans started to have some problems and it was parked. motor is good and rest of drive system is good. tub of body is in poor shape. front half is good but back is very bad. this vehicle also has a wench that works off the transfer case to the front. wench is a ramsey. vehicle has military style rims on it also. it is hard to come by these old ford jeeps. this jeep also has the plates on the glove box that relate to the old ford jeeps.”
UPDATE: This is back on ebay with no reserve
1951 CJ-3A: Interesting paint job
“I am selling a 1951 Willys CJ3A jeep. The jeep looks to be all original except for the front and rear axle and a few other small parts. It has the ww2 jeep axles under it. The jeep’s body is in good shape and since there has been a hard top on it for years there is vary little rust. No gone through rust in the floor. The engine looks like it may have been rebuilt, it runs good and strong, the carburetor will need to be rebuilt because it needs to be choked for it to run good. The jeep has the original foot starter…”
I ran across this great looking Sand Drag Jeep called Impulsive Behavior. From what I learned off the website, the owner’s name is Tim and he is a member of the Santa Barbara 4WD Jeep Club.
Impulsive Behavior “has a 468 cubic inch BBC generating just under 800Hp with almost 600 lb-ft of torque. This power plant will move the 2100 pound vehicle to 82 mph in 4.04 seconds on a 300 foot long race track.”
It looks in excellent shape. I didn’t see any of these classic hoods at the swap meet (or they had already sold). Having Don’s old card in the glass is a cool benefit.
“Vintage Aftermarket Jeep Hood for CJ2A CJ3A M38 MB & GPW. This “Bobcat hood” is a real find. The fiberglass has no cracks and the hinge works good. You can tell its vintage because there is a business card in the glass for (Don Prine’s) Prine’s Jeep Service and the phone # is JU 4-6648. So I would guess 60’s or before. The hump can give your air filter more room if you have a V-6 or V-8 under your hood. And it looks good..
“1950 Willys jeep shell. No drivetrain. Tires junk. No lift, solid body for project. No interior, all offers. 383-3185”
A reader named Jim forwarded this interesting CJ-2A. The body appears in very good shape. It sports a column shift and a PTO. It appears to have a CJ-3B windshield. With the 3 dash panels and the column shifting, I’d guess this (or part of it) is actually a mid 1946 rather than a 1948.
“GREAT WILLYS RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT 3SPD PTO WINCH TOW BAR 2 EXTRA SPARES NICE SHAPE TURNS ON A DIME WILL GO JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE TRADES WELCOME BRYAN”
Looks like a good parts FC-150.
Here’s the new ad:
“its all there dose not run real early short wheelbase narrow track,no title 750.00 offer trade??? WILL BE AT PIR SWAP MEET pitt aera by pitt wall can e-mail pics”Here’s the old ad text:
“willys fc150 short wheelbase narrow track 4X4 pickup its pretty ruff but mostly all here 4cyl motor (not running) 3-speed,kinda rusty but good for parts or ??? this thing is very short the bed is as long as the wheelbase,no calls after 6:pm please,Leroy 503-515-2970”
I got word earlier this morning that a reader located a Ford GP. Here’s an early look at the find. Boy, is he excited. I’ll provide updates when I learn more.
Here’s another project by Matt and Edmund Angelus Automotive. Like the other restoration projects I’ve seen from Matt, this one is a beauty. I have no doubt Matt’s clients loved the results! Thanks for sharing! You can contact Matt at 540-354-4321 for more information on having your project jeep finely restored.
Matt writes:
“This is latest to emerge from Edmund Angelus Automotive, a 1946 CJ-2a. This was originally a Boyer Fire Jeep. This unit came to us literally carried in pieces, taken apart way beyond necessary for 3200 mile vehicle. Build time 22 weeks.”
It appears there are four levers (tranny, two tc, and either an OD or a PTO), but I can’t tell which.
“I have a 53, ideal for a parts vehicle. Four intact fenders, Hood, and straight body. Transmission lost 2nd gear, so it has been sitting for long enough to where the motor needs a rebuild too. I know it has enough parts on it to warrant the price, so i am not very flexible.
Call anytime, if i don’t answer, LEAVE A MESSAGE!! (360)320-3080. Bryan”
Based on the pics from craigslist and eBay, this is an MB body and grille. I would hazard a guess that the rest of this is an MB as well.
“i have a 46 willys jeep it has a corvette 283 hi low transfer case i was going to rebild it but i lost my job have to move cant take it with me have all part for some one to bild it make me a good offer or a good trade . call me no email thanks”
