Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Own a piece of history. Very collectible. Great for shows, parades, or Sunday drives.
This 1952 Willys M38 was the first post WWII model which was equipped with many upgrades learned from use during the war including reinforced frame and suspension, 24 volt, generator, waterproof electrical system, fording ventilation system, sealed vent system for the engine, transmission, brake system and fuel system, all in excellent condition. The body is equipped with a pintle hook for towing and lifting shackles front and rear, “pioneer” tools (axe and shovel) included, Jerry Can, soft-top, blackout driving kit and more. Only none original parts are HUMVEE turn signal kit and seat belts.”

“To the best of my knowledge this is the correct information. {I am selling it for my husband whom is ill}1962 6cyl/ automatic with plow. It has been outside uncovered for a couple years. My husband said he had it started a year or so ago.”

The 3B was used as the model for the ICON.
“When we decided to launch the ICON CJ3B, the first thing we did was search down a 100% original CJ3B. We did this so we could get to know it a bit, and to digitize the complete structure and establish a starting point for our CAD modeling work. We found this truck in central California, where it had been it’s whole life. This little CJ has exceptional integrity. It has been sitting for a few years, but it fired right up and runs and drives. Please do not expect to jump in it and go on an expedition. It stops, starts and runs, but you should plan for some tinkering. Rare PTO winch. Original paint. No rust on the body. Zero modifications other than the cheesy wiper switch and rear tire carrier, which could be removed with ease. Original California black & yellow plates. You will be hard pressed to find a more original CJ3B. You may find a shiny one, but you can never beat an original because what you see is what you get. ICON/TLC is a licensed California dealer. Buyer will need to pay $100 document fee above the winning bid. Out of State buyers must use professional transporter and provide bill of lading to be exempt from Ca sales tax and fees. In State buyers must pay DMV fees and sales tax. This truck is stored at our facility in Chatsworth Ca. You are welcomed to come visit it. In the last few years the motor has been cleaned up, it has been repainted, the seats recovered, new tires, a new clutch, and it runs pretty good for the year. “It’s all there but the EM brake. Comes with new reproduction body, 5 original combat rims. I drove it into the shop, but has not run since. Good Jeep but needs someone with the time and energy to get it back on the road.
New seat canvas, canvas windshield cover and canvas top.
To clarify, the Jeep still has an original, but rough, body on it. I collected a lot of replacement parts off old scrapped bodies or NOS to repair the damaged and missing parts.
I converted the EL to 12 volts but I still have all the 6 volt stuff, including an original voltage regulator, generator and starter, that go with the Jeep. Also, I have 90% of the EM brake, I just never got it on the Jeep.
The Repo body can be seen in the back ground. It is a complete body kit of the late war style body.
If you are interested in just the Jeep as is with all the extra parts, $7,500 OBO.
If you are interested in just the body kit $2,500 OBO.”

This was owned by a former POW of the Battle of the Bulge.
“This is a Willys WWII Jeep, It runs and drives and looks very good. It would be great for parade use or for a reinactor. It has the markings of my fathers unit 99th Division 924th Field Artillery. He was an EX – POW from the Battle of the Bulge,( he escaped 3 months later) and enjoyed riding in it. We have no room to store it now that he is gone and this house is sold. It needs to be maintained like anything else but does run and drive and stop well. It has had new wheel cylinders and a New started assembly. I do have the title that says 1941 Jeep MB. We know that it says the wrong year but we thought the next owner could have it corrected or leave it alone. It has a nice top that is like new just do not have any photos of it up. No cracks it the windshield. It has a winter insulator made of canvas on the hood. I was told it is unusual. The lights all work including the cats eyes Black out lights. The tires are old as is the seat canvas but I like the way it looks. You could restore it or drive it like it is”
