Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: This sold. The new owner is looking for parts.
This has a CJ-2A engine. It also has an CJ-3A windshield. There is some rust in the jockey box floor. There are no data plates, so the title number matches nothing.
This might be in good shape given where appears to be stored.

NO SMOKE OR DRIVE TRAIN NOISE. I HAVE NOT SERVICED THE DRIVE TRAIN AND IT IS STILL ONE OF THE QUIETEST I HAVE DRIVEN. YOU WILL NEED TO SERVICE ALL THE RUNNING GEAR BEFORE YOU DRIVE IT ANY DISTANCE. WHAT I HAVE DONE IS REBUILT CARB, NEW BATTERY, NEW PLUGS, NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE LINES. FRESH CAMO PAINT. NEW SEAT CUSHIONS FOR ITS AGE THE JEEP IS IN GOOD CONDITION . KEEP IN MIND ,THIS WAS A FRAME ON RESTORATION SO I CAN SELL AT THIS LOW PRICE . THE JEEP WILL BE SOLD WITH BILL OF SALE NO TITLE. I MAKE NO OTHER CLAIMS OR GUARANTEES.”

(08/28/2012) This looks good. It doesn’t have the original block.
“1951 M38; while NOT restored this jeep is very solid; its been converted to 12 volt; has new steel tub; starts easy and runs well. Some parts such as seats not authentic. More photos available. Selling to buy a different military vehicle and hope it goes to a good home! $6,900. ”
Besides being lifted, the entrance area has been trimmed down.
“1947 Willys Jeep with original engine, transmission, transfer case, and axles. Jeep runs great and both high and low 4×4 works. Then engine does smoke a little bit, but no more than to be expected for ’47. This jeep will go anywhere a four wheeler will go. Has lockers in front and rear. Although there is no title.
