Going by the stated serial # listed on E-Pay, It came from the factory with the column shift type transmission. Too bad as is with most of the 2A column shift jeeps listed for sale, it has been converted to tower shift.
Good point and I’ve added the serial number to the post. Since I’ve always preferred the floor shifter, twenty years ago, I probably would have been one of those that made the switch. It’s an understandable move for usability, but not a great one for posterity and preservation.
This has an f head with the YF carb, but the hood does not look to have been cut yet.
Bob, I read an article once how willys already came out with the cj3b before engineers figured a way to fit the f-head in a 3a. I will try to remember where I seen that article and post it.
