Markusz is selling this DJ-5. Looks in good shape.
“1982 AM General DJ5 United States Postal Service Jeep. Right hand drive automatic jeep. Pretty decent gray paint job with Army Vinyl theme. Runs, drives and stops. Lights, horn and locks work. Custom rear bumper. All glass and glass seals in good shape. Does not overheat, 4 cylinder engine runs smooth and transmission shifts as it should. Newer carpet inside. Decent shape tires. Good emissions and clean title, notarized ready to transfer. $2200 obo. Could be a cool little offroad toy or rat rod project.”
Gayland shared these pics from an auction he won. They demonstrate that AM General targeted the Navy for DJ-5s, too.
Dan spotted this modified DJ-5.

Might be worth a look. Needs work.
“Its a 1975 Jeep DJ series. It’s 2 wheel drive. It has a straight 6 (232ci 3.8L) and a automatic (a727) transmission. It’s right hand drive. it needs work. It’s a project. The battery is new. The front brakes are new. I replaced the transmission pan gasket on the transmission but it still leaks.
To get it at least in good driving condition, the transmission needs to be addressed to stop the leak. The brake system needs a flush. Tires should be replaced. The brake pedal itself needs new bushings. It needs some lights replaced. That’s the stuff that would get it on the road. After that I would check to make sure the alternator is good. Replace the fluids and do a good tune up. It’s does come with a new kick-down cable and bracket, as well as a new throttle cable. It also comes with a tow bar.”
UPDATE: **Sold** was $2900. See Bob’s comment regarding Benny.
(03/30/2019) Now I’m hungry for a hot dog. My favorite “hot dog” jeep was this surrey with a hot dog setup, also out of New Jersey.
“Benny’s got dog truck great Little business or event truck”
UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $1500.
This might be a Safari-Kar build, though I can’t tell for sure.
“Great running custom Jeep. This is an ex postal Jeep (right hand drive) rebuilt and converted to look like a CJ. Inline 6 cylinder, auto trans (drips a little fluid), 2 wd. Solid frame and body(minimal rust), oversized tires (weather cracks), no top, no doors, what you see is what you get. It’s dependable and it’s also 43 years old. It was completely rebuilt 10+ years ago. No trades, cash only. Will not reply to “still for sale” send a number to call or text. Too many scammers out there.”
UPDATE: Eric is trying to learn more history about this DJ-5. It is currently has a Harley theme, but previously was blue and white. It has a 350 Chevy small block with a 350 turbo transmission.
UPDATE: Back up for sale with some improvements.
