20 years ago her husband started to restore the truck

Seems like a pretty good price. Maybe the rust problem is larger than suggested in the text?

Bill shared this project truck. He’s hoping someone gets it so that he’s no longer tempted by it.

“1953 Willys Overland, with plow.
Been in my family since 1963 (have bill of sale from then) and was in running condition 25 years ago when i parked it in my garage. My grandfather used it to plow his very long driveway. I started a restoration in the 1980’s but never finished.
Its been sitting outside now for about 6 years and I am too old at this point to restore it.
Asking $3000 or best offer”

Bill spotted this sold truck on Hemmings. It seems a hefty price, especially when you look at the undercarriage (cobwebs, some surface rust). The seller states they spent $63,000 on ‘restoring’ this truck.

UPDATE: Chuck called on this ad. The owner says his grandson listed it, but the owner is not interested in selling it. Was listed at $4500.

This “all original” truck sports a V-8. It also has a gov plate. A forest-service shaped sticker suggests this was likely a forest-service vehicle.

“This 1953 Willys Jeep is a blast from the past, and it is a great package deal with a 1955 parts car. What a fun project for any car enthusiast, or creative soul. The bed has some rust issues but the parts car has a great bed. It has definite character, it could be a great restoration project or a rat rod classic, so many possibilities.”

This is a 2WD truck that appears to have a solid, pretty straight body. It could make a good project.

“62 Willys truck project on S10 frame with 4BDT turbo diesel and auto transmission. Was to be mini big rig look with all the lights, stacks, etc. Have many new parts, new aftermarket steering column installed, new master cyl, have many new lights, digital dash guages, chrome exhaust stacks, more too much invested and no time to finish, engine ran sweet when removed from working truck, also have stainless wheel simulators for the chevy 15 inch wheels, call for more details.”
