Straight through rebuilt transfer case (46,636 miles) Unlike original is very quiet. and later model Jeep all synchro 5 speed adapted to give freeway speeds in 5th gear. Car will do 65 MPH at 2300 RPM, will go faster but why would you? Added Tachometer, column mounted shown in pictures, helps to know when to shift.
New front hubs, All guages work. Front seat shoulder mounted seat belts added in front. Springs have been re-arched to raise to original level. Interior is like new green vinyl with recently carpeted front seat area. Excellent paint inside and out, resides in sunny southern California and has no rust. Wood panels recently added to cover previous wood panel effort *.

“1959 Willy Jeep wagon for sale Great shape
Runs good”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.
This is still a project. It has an early set of Free-Lock hubs (circa 1957) that could have been original to the wagon.
“I am selling my 1957 Jeep Willys Wagon. ALL ORIGINAL. This is the perfect project for someone to finish. I don’t have time with a growing family. The frame is in great condition. Patina. The body is immaculate inside and out. Wood trim. All original. All manuals are original. Included are $5,000 in parts to continue on the restoration. Jeep runs and drives but is not ready for the road. A few items from the new parts inventory are rear lights, rear bumper with Willys emblem. 2 front fenders. Chrome for grill. Etc. On the Jeep, new tires, suspension, brakes, exhaust, etc. $7500 OBO.”
The seller has done some research, discovering that this started life as a 2×4 for the Navy, but was then was refitted to be a 4×4 for the Forest Service (perhaps the Parkway Conversion was also implemented at that time?) .

“1961 Willys wagon 4×4. 4 speed with a Chevy small block. Vehicle has been stored under cover for the last 5 years until recently. There is some rust shown in the pictures. Hasn’t ran in 3 years and the rear brake line is bad. Does come with a tow bar and lights. Here’s a little back story on the wagon. Researching the serial number from Kaiser/Willys website this was a 2wd drive naval personnel carrier that was built at the end of the Korean War but never left the factory.
The government had Kaiser repurpose it for the forest service they transferred the body to a 4×4 chassis and sent it the forest service in Leavenworth Wa. I purchased it from the grandson of the man who bought it from the forest service. The original engine failed and was swapped out some time in the the mid 80’s. I don’t really want to sell but the wife wants a new house. Open to offers. Please don’t make a low offer I won’t be giving it away :-)”
This has a variety of updates.

“1962 Willy wagon with a history! Odometer shows 99964 TMU. This was originally a government car for the Atomic Energy Commission in the early 60’s. Original owner was an engineer with them and bought it when he left AEC. Wagon has been in Colorado for many years. I started Resto but now have no time to finish. Wagon has been Garaged for past 4 years. . Interior door and side panels were warped so I removed them. Most trim removed to get ready for paint (I have all removed trim) I also have seats front and back stored in garage. Drivers seat still in wagon.
UPDATE: I’ve added two newspaper photos to this post about Kent. One shows him signing copies of his autobiography. The other depicts him with a huge walking stick, one I’m sure could come in handy while exploring ‘his’ beloved canyons.
Even today, Kent’s shadow looms large over the area. Just this last week the Moab Museum screened the “My Canyonlands” film about him.

(Originally Published April 2011) Without a doubt, my favorite part about running this website are the unexpected, interesting people to whom I’m introduced (if only virtually). One of those people is Kent Frost, a product of the Four Corners area and whom we caught glimpses of in Alan’s color photos of the 1961 Four Corners trip.
Doug commented on one of the Four Corner posts that he had read a book by Kent Frost called “My Canyonlands”, published in 1971. I’m very happy that Doug mentioned the book, because I ordered it and have enjoyed it immensely. Kent describes all kinds of adventures and early trips into remote areas of the four corners region. He loved to explore and hike, later jeep and river run, and that remote area has given him a lifetime of experiences.
Here’s an odd one.

Vehicle Information
UPDATE: SOLD. Was $30,000.
This is a nice looking station wagon.
“For Sale: Recently completed restoration of a very rare and unique 1949 Willys Overland Jeep Station Sedan. The Jeep Station Sedan was Willys’ entry into the upscale station wagon market in 1948, 1949 and 1950. This vehicle has been restored over a period of seven years to a very exacting standard. Besides beautiful green metallic paint the interior replicates the exact seat and headliner material. Mechanically the engine has been rebuild by Terry’s Engine Service and runs like a sewing machine. There are four new B F Goodrich 6.70X15 wide whitewall tires and new caps and trim rings. New wire harness, new deluxe steering wheel, new gas tank. Clear title. Price: $29,950.00.”
Has potential and a few updates.
