The point of this ad is that the force on the tires of a B-29 landing is equal to that of a jeep flying straight down from the Empire State Building.
“Nice quality vintage print ad from Shell Industrial Lubricants during WWII , featuring a jeep dropping from the Empire State Building. Mentions Goodyear and B-29 Superfortress.
there’s a small dark stain on the lower left corner, but it could be covered up by a picture frame.
Measures 10″x13″ From 1940’s Fortune Magazine”
UPDATE: Was $450.
According to an article from JP Magazine, the WAT was sold by Warn in 1969 and intended to slip between a T-18 and a transfer case. The writer of the article only remembered ever seeing one of them.
“The war in overdrive unit shift good and bolts between the T case and the transmission. I am asking 450 but open to offers. Was going to use in a Dodge pickup to get rid of the automatic but my plans have changed.”
I found this ad in the May, 1969, issue of Popular Mechanics.
This rare brochure just sold on eBay. Anyone ever run across a working rake? It was sold by the Midway Lumber Company out of St. Paul, MN.
UPDATE: Was on eBay. **SOLD**
Here’s a jeep tram that is pulling tourists along the Huntington Beach Pier.
Here’s another Newsweek Ad from 1943. I will have to fill in the issue information later, as I don’t have it with me. This was a two page ad in the center of the magazine.
How about this great ad from the August 9, 1943, issue of Newsweek. I’ll be posting a different one from Newsweek tomorrow. This is pieced together from two different pages.
I spotted and purchased it on eBay today. There were three other issues, but I got outbid with a few seconds to go on the rest.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
These fuel tanks could be pulled by jeeps and other vehicles.
“This is an original vintage 1943 magazine advertisement by Fletcher Aviation Corp. (Pasadena, California) titled
“New Fletcher Jeep Tanks … give gasoline service on the double!”
with 2 WWII era photos.
The ad measures approximately 7 3/4″ x 11 1/4″, is in excellent condition, and can easily be matted & framed.”

“ORIGINAL RARE 1957 JEEP WILLYS CANADA WHEEL DRIVE AD ( JEEP SNOW BLOWER ) CANADIAN”
This brochure includes pictures of the bed extension and the optional vertical doors (I think Andy’s Airport Jeep had these).
This Schenecker Demonstration Jeep shows off the hydraulic lift bucket. Really great photo that was just on eBay.
I was surprised to see this ad for Warn Overdrives in the September, 1965, issue of Popular Mechanics.
Shipping is free. I would imagine this was originally a magazine cartoon? It has the look about it.
