Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Seller listed this as a 1943, but looks like a 1946 to me. The front frame rails and bumper look good. A PTO winch is in the rear. It’s pretty complete, but still a project.

“I have two Willys Jeep CJ2A a 1947 and a 1948. The 48 is titled, but completely disassembled for restoration. I have a lot of spare parts, including a complete spare motor. I also have a 47 that runs drives and stops. It does not have a title. The tub on the 47 is rusty with patches. I bought a restored CJ2A and lost interest in this restoration. A worthy project for someone. 4cyl flathead runs but needs work due to an intake valve sticking open. Frame etc is good and solid. UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4975. It was a reader’s jeep. It is titled as a 1945 MB, but he felt it was more like a ’47 CJ-2A. He and his wife enjoyed owning and driving it.

Needs bodywork.
“46′ Willys jeep cj2a, all 5 numbers match, Engine was rebuilt has less then 1k. Jeep is a driver, brakes, transmission, front hubs lock in but haven’t tested 4wd. in the process of getting the starter rebuilt. new front light wiring harness and tail lights work. Windshield is cracked but fame and seal is in good shape. front body work mostly done but need some skin work from sides and corners. price is negotiable.”

“Selling my 1946 Willys CJ2A. Definitely not the prettiest cj you’ve seen, but she’s a beast! Runs and drives. 4 cylinder, flat head Motor has been rebuilt at some point, but i’m not able to verify how long ago. Fresh oil and coolant.
Converted to 12 volts. Rear offset dana 44. Also has rear seat included
New battery. I’ll be replacing the Regulator and Ignition tomorrow. I’ll also be rebuilding the carb as well, because it has a hard time idling.
I also have 4 extra original CJ2 wheels (15×6), as well as 2 spare tire mounts. I will also include a tow bar.
Transmission shifts good. No grinding or popping out. 4×4 works.
Obviously, this jeep needs some body work, as you can see in the pics. Some cancer spots, and places where bondo is chipping off from an old restoration. But this jeep is VERY restorable, and will be worth plenty of money after body work and some tlc.
Title in hand. have the license plate for it as well.
$2700 or best REASONABLE OFFER. no trades. Cash speaks.

“Civilian model, original 134L, 4 cylinder, 4 Wheel drive, 3 speed, high/low range, 12 volt conversion. Runs and drives great, lots of extras…hard top and doors, rear seat,and tow bar with lights. she has 5:13 gears so 45 mph is the top speed, but it will climb a wall! Lots of fun with the windshield down!!!”

“This listing is for 2 Willy’s Jeeps. I know very little about these, I’ll do the best I can to field any questions.
We do not have titles for these vehicles. We are selling these as parts only and have no way to acquire a title. They were donated to our charity. We will of course provide a bill of sale. We had a mechanic do a once over on the one with the body off to the side and he said that it had good compression in 3 cylinders and low in the 4th cylinder. We also installed a new starter.
The oil looks great and was recently changed.

(02/25/2015) Ian is selling his near complete jeep. It ran until he experience a problem with the starter. Ian includes lots of information about the jeep.
I have fallen into the classic trap of rebuilding old iron – I got deep into a project before finally realizing that I am not enjoying it. What I have is 95% of the way to being a totally awesome retro offroader – not the lifted V8 junk that most people do, but rather something that keeps the classic style of the Willys Jeep and improves its performance in sensible ways.

(10/30/2014) Seller believes this is all original, but the M-38 body suggests otherwise.
“1947 Willy”s Jeep universal ready to restore. It is all original except the four cylinder engine. It has a rebuilt pinto four cylinder engine. For the person that is looking for a rock climber, this one can be set up just for that purpose. It has the original transmission, transfer case, front and rear axles. It has fog lights, and a tow bar, with lock out hubs. It has been stored for the last seven years. Please no texting,”
John’s selling this Boyer Jeep. The jeep has less than 9,000 miles and was formerly a DNR wire jeep. I have the stainless steel racks that were on the jeep and the tailgate. I don’t have all the side mounted tool boxes. I also have all the canvas. Roof, doors and back. As for the knob on the front by the headlight it is hand throttle. I suspect it was used for the water pump that at one time was mounted on the front. This is why it does not have the proper front bumper I suspect.
