Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have a 47 cj2a with the flat head 4cyl, 3 speed and dana 18 t-case. The tub has some rust, but the frame is super solid. The tub is removed for some bodywork. The jeep was running and driving before the tub was removed. The motor runs like a top, trans shifts smooth, 4wd works. Has spoke wheels with 31″ tires, very deep agressive tread. Could be a trail jeep or lots of good parts. No title. I will sell the jeep for $1000 cash obo or will trade for a set of 6 lug chevy wheels with 35″ tires or bigger or an s-10 for parts, not running, no title, no worries. “I have a 1947 Jeep Willy for sale. I currently does not start and it is needing a complete rebuild. The person I got it from said it started and that was over two years ago. “1946 Willys CJ2a 12 Hours on fresh build engine all NOS parts used on original go devil engine. The tub is rusty but frame is in good condition, tires are in good condition no dry rot and have the original spare tire, brake pads just replaced an has new battery (less than week old). She runs great and can be driven on the road with no problems.”

Larry wanted to share some pictures of his jeep family. Their newest jeep is his wife’s new Grand Cherokee. To make room for a MB he wants, Larry is selling the maroon CJ-2A. I don’t have any more information on a price just yet.

“This is a mostly complete CJ2a. The drivetrain is there, but the body is rough. It is not in running condition, but the engine spins freely with a wrench. There is rust in the body. This could be the start of a new project, or used for parts. I do not have the title.”

“Selling my Custom built 1946 Willys CJ2A. It has been stretched 2 feet. It sits on a 1976 Chevy 1/2 ton frame. It has power steering Power Disc Brakes, and it has the 350 engine and TH 350 Transmission. The transfer case is a 203 full time unit. The front axle is a Dana 44 and the rear is a GM 12 bolt with G80 Locker. It has custom bead lock wheels and 28″ TSL Mudder tires. The radiator is Aluminum, and sits between the rear frame rails. Engine has a new timing chain, Edelbrock Torker Intake and Edelbrock Carb. The Ignition is a GM HEI with Accel super coil. It has Headlights and a simple wiring system with flip switch and push button starter. I don’t have a title, but any chevy truck title and vin or Jeep title and vin would work, if you want to run it on the street. The intale is a K&N filter mounted high on the rollbar via snorkel, and the jeep will run in the water to the top of the windshield. Suspention is semi hybrid with no shocks, or sway bar for awesome articulation. no rust tub and very good military green paint. This Jeep will practically go anywhere and its comfortable to off road in because of the stretch and bucket seats. The rear seat is removable and seats 2. Mostly original ’47 body on a ’66 CJ chassis, it features a Chevrolet 350ci crate motor with Holley Dominator intake and camshaft combo, and a freshly rebuilt Holley Avenger off-road carburetor. Exhaust runs through custom headers and side pipe cherry bomb “mufflers”. Also features a 3-speed manual tranny with low “granny gear”, 3.83 gearing, running on low mileage 33in x 12.5in Interco TSL Thornbird mud-terrain tires mounted on deep dish custom rims. This Jeep features Summit Racing bucket seats with 5-point harness to hold you tight when you’re out on the trail. AMC axles with mechanical locker in the rear. Numerous extra parts included.
