Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This jeep has been refurbished. The column shift and grille have been changed. Unclear if it still has the tool indents.
“Full frame up restoration using 2 donors and a New-old-stock parts source.
Original engine, etc. A few things are new (grill, wheels), as I haven’t found the original parts yet. Also, converted to a floor shifter, because the column shifters were horrible.
Less than 5k miles since restoration. Works as a daily driver, or take care of the rest of the cosmetic stuff and have a show car.

While the body looks rough, this jeep appears to have a rare set of Free-Lock Hubs (so easy a child can engage them).

“1948 Willys CJ2A flatfender classic, rebuilt 4-cylinder, rebuild 3-speed transmission, rebuilt transfer case, rebuilt overdrive (meaning it will cruise at 55 mph!), rebuilt brakes and axles, period-correct tan paint with grey seats and factory orange wheels, new NDT tires, all-new wiring, every gauge works, new glass, new gas tank, no issues. $6900.00. This Jeep was rebuilt by my son, with help from 4 Wheelers Supply, Hopper’s Automotive, Stoney Mountain Jeep and Chandler Auto-Truck Electric. We have all receipts. “I have clear clear missouri title in my name in my hand. This willeys has the original drive tran less the engine and trans. It was replaced with a small block chevy and a 4 speed. The engine does not run and you can asume it is locked up and will need to be replaced. I gave up on this jeep many years ago, but today found the Title, so let’s see if anyone would like to get this back on the roads. All the sheet metel is there except the tailgate. The frame has been modified becouse of rust in the front section.”

“WWII Jeep Willy M-38 jeep for sale. Title says 1941 as the age, but may be older. I have 2 motors for it! Motor removed for rebuilding. It is a l-head. I also have an f-head . Ted sent me a picture of his friend Jim’s jeeps. If anyone knows of a Mahl front loader, Jim would like to buy one.
Here’s the short list on all its options:
Koenig twin stick PTO

K+K side mount sicle bar
Three point hitch with Newgen Buzz Saw
extremely rare Canfield fold out wrecker assembly
Westinghouse PT1 compressor under the hood
Dual wheel adapters front and rear
Ge welder which came from a parts jeep that had paperwork showing the factory option welder cost more than the actual cost of jeep itself back in 1946.
Every thing works as it should with the exception of the welder ,which actually has been tested out and works great but is not hooked up because with all the work done to this jeep in the restoration Jim could not bring himself to cut out the tool box section to install welder.
Canfield wrecker has been converted to armstrong type ,to make room on mid PTO pulley for KandK bar.
About all we figure the Willys needs now to complete the swiss army effect is a Mahl front end loader if anyone has one for sale.

“I’ve had this great running little jeep for several years. I’m thinking I may want to pursue a different hobby so it may be time for my Jeep to move to a new home. I purchased this from a friend of mine (WWII aircraft mechanic) that used it at Centennial Airport to pull vintage airplanes around the hanger. The reported history is it was originally purchased by the US Navy in Hawaii and used as a shore patrol or similar right after the war. Although there were many Army jeeps in the area, the Navy purchased a few right after the war directly from local dealers (sounds like a mini-stimulus program). I verified this info from a WWII Jeep forum on the web called G503.com.

“Beautiful candy apple red Jeep Willys cj2a. It’s mostly stock with matching vin’s except wheels and tires. Good 31X10.50 radial Baja wide track tires on all black rims. Stock flat head 4cyl runs and drives great. 4×4 works great. It has aftermarket bucket seat in it now on professionally built seat mounts but the stock seats are in great condition and are included. Has a partial roll bar, bikini topper and a custom back seat. Modern radio with nice speakers. Also has a brand new magnum 9k winch all wired up and read to go. The motor is painted to match and all hoses are dressed with chrome covers that match the diamond plating around the jeep. It is missing the speedometer, odometer, has aftermarket gauges and a fiber glass hood paint to match also. Installed seat belts in front. Must see! Collector vehicle plates. Title in hand in my name.”

It’s a project. That could be a Bobcat Fiberglass body.
“This is a 1946 Willy’s CJ2-A. frame is solid has been re-enforced. Fiberglass tub and fenders. Medal hood and grille. Have a truck load of parts that go with this jeep. Started as a project three years ago and haven’t touched it in a while. Motor ran good when I started working on it. Has a ton of new parts. All new brakes, lines master and wheel cylinders. Many many parts go with this jeep including two engine blocks cranks and two spare transmissions. It has chrome wheels and radial tires. Also have all four original jeep wheels in great shape. “This is a 1949 Willys CJ2a with original running gear L134 4cyl t-90 Trans converted to 12v. Has a 1943 mb front end and m38 top. Dressed as a 1943 Willys MB. WWII. Has replica M1919a4 Gun. This is not a full restoration. Great for parades. The previous owner repaired the rust/ replaced the floor.
It really needs the correct seats and military tires to finish the look. I love this old Jeep but it needs a new home.
Also comes with a nice MB fold down windshield. Extra, low hour l134 industrial motor and 90% complete 1943 willys MB with title (body is rusted out) has the l134 still in it and t-84 trans all axles and drivelines”
The rear end is bad and it is missing the motor.

“It’s hard to even write this add. Six years ago my son and I rebuilt this Jeep with our own bare hands from the ground up. The motor, transmission and transfer case were rebuilt professionally, so no worries there. Most if not all bolts and nuts are new and stainless steel. It has the original L134 engine, original 3 speed transmission and dual stick transfer case. I also added a Warn Overdrive that was rebuilt by Herm the Overdrive Guy in Battleground Wa. The rear end is an offset Dana 44 with a locker, and the front end is I believe a model 27 which is stock. It has new Warn hubs as well. It has new 31 x 10.5 x 15” tires, with Ford Bronco wheels with beauty rings. Body work and paint was accomplished by my son and I, so it’s not a Barrett Jackson restoration but a great little rig. She’s hauled several elk out of the woods for us and also picked up beer and bread. She is an all around great rig. It does not have a top but I made a bikini top for it just to keep the rain and snow off of us when hunting. Otherwise, she’s topless. I have a pile of receipts and months of work into this rig. You can go buy a Yamaha Rhino but you can’t go to town in it, plus you’ll pay double of what I’m asking. I’m sure I’ve left out a few things. Oh, and it’s registered for life as a collector plate. Clean, clear title. The original color was “Pasture Green”. Thanks for looking and a good day to you all. $6,000

“Here is a brief run down on what is here. The frame is from a 46, the engine is from a military jeep (sear number xxxxxxx). The body was an early reproduction, additional taillight was installed and hole for aux trailer plug. It is very acuracy for a 46 with the exception of no matching numbers, frame, body, engine. Every part has been taken off and gone through. all gauges are new, also the speedometer. The parking lights are Corian, hard to find and in excellent condition. It has the original Spartan horn on the fire wall, new wiring harness, all electric parts were gone through. The carb was rebulit. It is painted the Pasture Green, tires and tubs are new, the rims are Kesley Hays.
If I had to try to get back the time and money put into this project it would very costly. This will make a nice jeep to drive around in and have fun, parades car shows etc. It comes with service manual, plate, clear title. owner’s manual. I have a top I am including with the sale. It is a Best Top I had on another jeep and is in very nice condition. There is a crack in the rear plastic that can be replaced. All the receipts’ and a running record of the money spent also come with.
