(11/30/2009) Looks like a nice little jeep.
“48 willys- has oversize fuel tank, overdrive, roll cage, big wheels, 235 V-6 motor. Will trade for quad in excellent condition.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
This looks good, though it has a broken passenger-side axle.
“90% finished ground up restoration. Including: gear inspection, complete emroned frame axles and running gear, new tires, rebuilt engine and transmission with aproximately 1500 miles on them, tub pan replaced with diamond plate, all wood supports removed and replaced with steel chanel, rubberized undercarriage, all new guages, fuel and oil systems upgrade, oversized radiator, saginov steering, clean wiring, custom bench seat, brand new Bestop soft top, and many many oem replacements throughout. Sweetest running willys around, super billit build, must see to appreciate.
Whats left/wrong: Needs paint, has some rust on tail gate and windshield frame (planned on getting new ones) rest of body is rust free, and done right, guages need to be put in dash, mirrors, and wipers need to be installed
The issue: I was playing with it on the coast and broke the passenger side rear axle shaft recently, and have decided I dont have the time or ability to repair the axle. This is a super common break with lots of online info, and replacement axle shafts are 80 bucks. I have put over 10 grand into this jeep over the past 8 years, and Im letting it go for 2500! Must see to appreciate, and MUST sell.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1295
(05/04/2010) This might not be a bad price. It needs at least a few parts.

“i have a 1947 willys cj2a have title . has no brakes and wont go in to gear (clutch problem) . i does start and run”
This looks like a nice build.
‘1947 Willys CJ2A, 302 V8, C4 Automatic Transmission, 2″ lift, Warn Overdrive, ProBillit Dist, B&M Shifter, GM Alternator (new) 3wire, New Paint / bushings, Lined interior, New VDO Gauges, Painless Wiring (new), Custom Fuel Cell, Custom Bumpers, Battery Cell, LED Lights, New Tires and wheels. This has been a fun vehicle but it is time to move to the next project. When I started with this vehicle, it was nice… I just couldn’t leave it alone. We pulled the body, blasted it to the metal, and filled/welded all of the holes and removed any rust. I replaced the front fenders with new, built and installed a fuel cell, added new glass and rubber, shocks (rancho), tires, wheels, paint, wiring, powdercoating, etc. On and on and on. With the overdrive, highway speeds can be maintained. Please call with any questions. Thanks for looking. Matt 559.906.2089.”

I suspect this does not have an overhead cam and it certainly is not all original for the year. Brett called on this and the seller mentioned the engine does smoke. The body appears solid.
“1949 Willy’s Jeep 1.34 engine with overhead camshaft everything is orginal for the year, but not necassariy for this particular Jeep. runs good, but burns oil, transmission slips out of second.”

There is certainly some work left with both Jeeps.
“This listing is for TWO different 1948 CJ2A Jeep Willys, but are being sold together. I’ve had these Jeeps for a while, and was thinking about using both Jeeps to restore into one. For a list of reasons I am not able to complete the project anymore, and have decided to sell them to someone who is. There are flaws to both Jeeps, but between the two they’re great for a restoration! One of the Jeeps has a rare aftermarket aluminum hard top and doors (picture included). I have new parts included with the Jeeps, and FOUR extra original rims!
If you have any other questions you can email me, or call me. Jim (325) 665-7527 (please call in reasonable hours).”
Here’s a parts CJ.

(04/20/2010) Dan spotted this jeep.
“1947 Jeep Willys 4×4…. All Chevy running gear….Including a 4.3 V6 with aluminum intake, 700r4, power steering, tilt wheel, and power disc brakes…. All gauges, head lights, tail lights, and blinkers work great…. It has really nice seats in it…. It has really great floors in it…. This Willys was used for the back roads, so it is not registered….If you want to drive it on the highway (it does great on the road) it would need to be inspected by the DOL….its easier than you think….I will let it go for 3k with out the new 32×11.50×15 BFG muds (they still have the nipples on them) or 4k with them”

4 core radiator
original military winshield (flips up and folds down)
original military grill and fenders
full roll bar
power steering with saginaw box

im selling this cheap because its an ongoing project and its not without its share of problems. It has come a long way since i bought it and up until recently its been a badass wheeler, but its time for me to part with it. The motor is the main problem at this point it just wont dial in. If i were to keep it i would put a different motor in it. It starts but just doesnt run right, distributor/timing isnt jiving which causes it to overheat and it has a moderate miss. I want to sell it whole but will consider parting out, i would have to sell the axles in a pair Or trans and transfer in 1 before I sell everything else.. after one of those two are gone everything is up for sale.”
UPDATE: Still Available
(12/21/09) Here are 2 jeeps. This might be a good price. It’s got a fiberglass hood. It also appears to have hubs on hte back axles.
