Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Listed as a 1947 CJ-2A, the lack of bumper gussets and the lack of bow holders suggest this might be a CJ-3A.

(06/08/2021) This could be a DJ-3A body that’s been modified, but it’s hard to tell for sure. This jeep has a Bobcat hood, but it lacks a front driveline.

“This is a 1951 Willys CJ3A project, with a clean title. I’ve wanted to complete this restoration, but life circumstances have gotten in the way. The jeep has an original L134 “go devil” engine, 6 volt system. Engine doesn’t run, but is free and turns over under starter power. Transmission and transfer case appear to be free, statically shifts into: R, 1, 2, 3, high, low; and transfer case in/out. Chasis wiring has been pulled, needs a new complete wiring harness. Original fuel tank and oil bath aircleaner were junk, have been scrapped, and need replaced. Previous owner installed new exhaust and wheel cylinders. I apologize for the sub-par pictures”

“53 willys cj3a runs and drives I like driving it, wheeling it and showing it off but I want to build other projects so something has to go. New valves, solid copper head gasket, GM alternator, new belt/fan/water pump. Springs/shocks/tank/seats and top all new. Weber carb, dry air filter, custom bumpers, bigger tires. “RADE FOR OLDER RANGER DUAL CONSOLE BASS BOAT This is a great running, driving, stopping, 1952 Willys CJ-3A. I do have the title and intact VIN plate that match the Jeep. “Rolling project. Most of the hard stuff is done.
Rust free tub, nice and straight. Some small damage on the passenger side (see photo). The frame is not boxed.
Strong 289. Cammed and stroked to 305. Holley TA-II carb. Dual Flowmasters.
Original 3-speed Transmission and D18 Xfer case.
I have a NP435 and Novak adapter kit to mate with a D20 transfer case. Rebuild kits for both, new 6 spline main shaft for the transmission, and new input gear for the transfer case. Everything is there to build it out and hook it up to the D44’s. The transmission was rebuilt for a 2wd, so it will need to be redone to mate with the transfer case.
Frame horns extended and shackles reversed. Saginaw steering already swapped in.
EZ Wire 12 fuse mini kit. (I don’t think they offer this kit anymore). The wiring is not finished, but the engine wiring is roughed in and it will run. New alternator and relay, fusible link etc…

“This is a 1952 Willys CJ3 Jeep. I bought the Jeep about 50 years ago and was going to make it look like brand new. Than never happen. It had a over head value engine at the time so I remove it to replace it with a correct motor The flat head motor was stuck and I never got around to fix it. The rust is not bad for this age of Jeep. I think that the wheels our off a Jeep pick-up but not sure. This is a Jeep that will need a lot of attention. I am not sure if I can find the title but will be looking.”

“Nice little cj2a. Have been working on it but now priorities have changed. New water pump, break reservoir, points, plugs, rotor and cap and spark plug wires. Needs to hook a new fuel line from tank to fuel pump ( which also need replaced. the pump.). motor starts right up when you pour some gas into the carburetor. Great project if you want to restore or clean up and use as is. Mostly just surface rust. Only thru rust I’ve seen is in floorboard on passenger side, which has been plated under. If ad is up it’s available. CASH only and don’t need help selling and I’ve heard all the scams so don’t bother me with them.”
