“1950 CJ3A for sale. It is located in Raton NM. The Jeep originally was a ranch jeep around Westcliff Colorado before I purchased it.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/279575891811366
The good:
-Clean title
-All info plates present
-New tires on original 15″ rims
-New valves, valve guides, and lapped seats
-Cylinders honed and rings replaced
-Comes with a complete new brake kit from Walck’s (not installed)
-Very little rust. A couple of little pinholes under the gas tank and one dime sized hole in the front right fender.
-New tires
The “needs attention”:
-The body is pretty banged up from years of being a working Jeep. My intention was to get it going and embrace the character.
-Gas tank is an older aftermarket and it doesn’t fit very well.
-Missing passenger seat and air filter
-Has a late 40’s L134 with a CJ2A engine mount plate. Comes with the correct CJ3A plate, which will need to be installed. The previous owner made an adapter to mount the engine, but the better solution is the put the correct plate on.
This is a neat old ranch Jeep. It probably isn’t a candidate for a fine restoration, but it would make for a really fun farm or hunting truck. It is a project. The engine runs well, but all other systems will need to be gone through.”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(03/10/2024) This has a GPW body. It may also have a rare Dumas or Carson middle seat (can’t tell for sure). It also has an unusual modified, but probably handy, cowl.

“1953 Willys CJ3A. No engine, had a ford 4cyl. I believe it has a GPW body going by the fuel tank filling under the driver’s seat , rear toolbox’s on fenders and no tailgate. Has been modified with a storage space under the windshield. Homemade lift shackles on the springs. Not in bad shape for its age. Clear Wyoming title. Sold as is. I do have a fresh rebuilt iron duke engine for sale for an additional charge.”
The is a project.

“Listing my 46 jeep cj2a or 3a plaque is faded. It has a manual transmission and a 351 ford v8 in it. Bought it to build into an off-road rig but haven’t touched it in almost 6 months. It’s a project has rust/rot frames good. front axle is missing pinion and ring gear and has been missing since i got it. was going to 4 link it and put it on one tons. steering wheel needs to be fixed, needs gas tank engine has new coil and distributor runs on starting fluid or gas dumped down the carb. could use a fresh rewire job solid bones just lost interest and don’t want it sitting around. Asking $1200 obo worst i can say is no have tractor to help load on a trailer tires are dry rotted hold air for about a day. It’s a good start to a off road rig”
Listed as a 1952, it’s not clear if this is actually a 3A or a CJ-3B chassis (or something else). The body looks to be a very rare Parkette CJ-3B body kit.

“1950 CJ3A. 200 Ford “Straight 6” out of 60’s Mustang. Runs amazing. New ring gear, starter, battery, fuel tank, sender, etc. Aluminum radiator. New STA Coker vintage style tires. Koenig half cab, nicest half cab I’ve ever seen! I might try and keep cab if new owner doesn’t want it. Body has some rust pockets from being in Colorado most of its life. Battery shut off switch. Kill switch on dash. Roll bar. Disc brakes. Good glass. Saginaw Steering conversion. Lots of work went into making this Jeep drive very well. Interior/ seats are very nice and comfortable. Needs just a little TLC, but can go on the trail today(shifter has some play). Clean title in my name. Located in Queen Creek, Arizona.”
Neither jeep has front frame horns, so it’s not clear exactly what years these are. Both appear to be militarized CJ-2As or CJ-3As in very good shape.

“I have what I believe is a earlier 3A for sale. 3A style frame anyway, I could poke through the other differences to tell for sure.
On the positive side, I did get it running and it starts and runs quietly. Original Carter carb. Not a lot of modifications made except for a few very serious modifications that may or may not be a lot of work to correct.(like the fenders) The dash etc is pretty straightforward with a minimum of holes drilled and things of that nature. Seat frames are good, hood could be okay for a driver. Grill has a little dinger in one of the bars that could be bent back. Older but still soft mud tires on 15” wheels. Drawbar is nice. Great oil pressure. I think basically someone was using this jeep for plowing and taking care of it mechanically until they weren’t. It had clean oil etc in the engine. The starter was missing so perhaps that is what took it out of service.
