“1959 WILLYS CJ3 JEEP ( NO TRADES ) RESTORE PROJECT (NOT RUNNING ) · KOEING EXTENSION AND DUMPING BED · Other_body_style · Driven 150,000 miles OVER HEAD VALVE 4 CYLINDER ORIGINAL ENGINE WITH A REBUILT HEAD. “1956? Jeep Willys, inline 4 cylinder. The Jeep will not crank but does not appear to be locked up in any way. The wheels turn, the gears shift, and the steering wheel turns. The engine does not appear to be locked up but that cannot be verified. Most all of the parts of the vehicle appear to be there but many parts are loose. The ignition is not wired up. No keys. The battery is 1-2 years old. A 1-2 year old wiring harness will be provided but is not installed. The tires hold air but not sure for how long. This needs to be hauled away on a trailer. It is sold as-is. There is no title. A bill of sale will be written to the buyer in person at our local bank once the funds are deposited into our bank account. This is a restoration project vehicle. It does not run and will take a lot of work to get it road ready. The price is firm, no other offers will be responded to. No trades. I hope this finds a good home with someone who can restore it. It has good bones, it just needs a lot of work to get it running again”
This is listed on eBay. It appears to have Watson Hubs. Note the slats on the hood.

“Needs starter, engine has been rebuilt, will trade for dump trailer.”
Derek posted this 3B to FB. It looks like a nice jeep.
“Frame up restoration about 15 years back. 12 volt, electronic ignition, overdrive, aftermarket heater. Looks and runs good. Have some spare parts as well including a Fisher plow set up minus the blade. Located in Falmouth, Massachusetts. Titled, registered, and inspected in Massachusetts.”
TJ shared this 3B for sale. Rather than being military, like the seller suggests, it more likely has got a replacement body.

“So, this has been in my family for quite a while. Believe my great grandpa ‘created’ this back in the 80’s and would mainly use it as a hunting vehicle. To my understanding mostly all the exterior is fiberglass, cab space is mainly sheet metal, engine and chassis are from an old jeep (willys jeep or jeep CJ) sometime in the 1940’s-60’s. Price is OBO, if you think you have any info on the chassis and engine based on the pictures let me know, I would like to learn more about it myself. Have the cylinder head and other parts but are in kind of rough shape as you could assume”
The current bid price on this one is $600 with 5 days left.

Derek Redmond of the CJ-3B page believes this vehicle began life as a Mahindra product, then was modified. This is located in France, but the postage is only $3.18.

“$7,000 O.B.O. 1960 Jeep CJ3B. VERY solid and clean for the year. Hat channels are corroded but tub is solid. Frame is solid as can be. Period correct: WARN OVERDRIVE!!!, WARN BELLEVIEW WINCH, WILLYS SPOTLIGHT, KOENIG BODY EXTENSION. Runs and drives great. Cranks up every time. Can drive anywhere. 4X4 works great. Gets more attention than anything else on the road. Good condition Firestone 6.0X16 tires. CLEAR TITLE. Everything works except speed indicator(odometer does work) fuel and temp gauge and rear running lights(brake lights work).
Lots of new parts: Distributor, Carburetor, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, Spare Tire, Muffler, Starter Solenoid, Bikini Top, FULL COMPLETE TOP BOW KIT($700), BRAND NEW 12V WIPER KIT(not installed), Air Tube, Oil Filter. “Looking to sell this Willys. It is a 1953 CJ3B. It was running but now isn’t getting spark so I have ordered a distributor rebuild kit and will continue to try to get going again. Tires are mismatched and have dry rot but hold air. Tub is rough but has been patched and is usuable. Frame has surface rust but looks to be solid. Looks to be all there and has a clean Kentucky title. Has new brake lines, carb, newer wiring and battery and maybe a couple small things I’m forgetting. Located in Hyden KY and willing to help with shipping. Looking for 5500 or best offer. No trades.”

“53 Willys cj-3b high hood jeep. The wiring is all screwed up. It is not currently running, but ran when it was parked. Has the Suzuki samurai front brakes and recently rebuilt kingpin bearings. It is not currently running. My health just had another severe downturn so I need to sell it because I will not be able to get to it. Serious offers only. Will not reply to automated responses. Mileage not accurate. No title issued by nh for vehicles this age. Only this jeep is for sale. Had a bunch of non serious offers. Need to cover some medical bills asap. People who have cash in hand and come with a trailer top of the list. May be interested in a vehicle as a trade. Currently parked in deering nh.”

“Willys CJ3B project vehicle. I believe it’s a late 1950s (don’t know exact year, no title). Mercedes om616 diesel engine and manual transmission. Got this as part of a package deal, but finishing it is a bit more than I’m able to take on. Engine runs great. Throttle, hydraulic clutch, new Bosch gauges connected. Transmission connected to rear differential. Just needs a frame support under the transmission (have original, which could be adapted) and the shift box mounted. Also comes with a Suzuki transfer case. Brand new steering wheel from Kaiser-Willys. Nice early CJ wheels with new radial tires. Frame solid. Has beefy U-joint front axle. Tub is rough but works. Cowl, dash, window frame, hood, and grill are nice. Includes the original engine, transmission, and transfer case (assembled). Was told the engine ran a little rough.”
Apparently, this needs some work? Looks like a good price.
