“I have an old Jeep with a straight 6 Ford motor in it. I have recently replaced the battery, spark plugs, coil, distributor, carburetor, fuel pump and filter, and ignition switch. It fires right up first try. It has four wheel drive with locking front hubs. Everybody who see it says it’s a collectors item. It has a three speed transmission in the floor. It runs and drives. It’s very loud on the inside. The back opens up and locks into place and the doors will come off. One of a kind. Brand new tires. All lights and turn signals work the way the are supposed to.”

(11/06/2018) This DJ was converted to 4WD.
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/cto/d/1957-willys-dj-3a-4×4-conversion/6769025334.html
“An east county San Diego Jeep since it was brand new. This is the “Dispatcher” model, that was originally sold as a 2wd.
This Jeep was professionally converted to 4wd with surplus military M38 parts by Border Parts in Spring Valley. Saginaw steering, Dana 25 front axle, Dana 44 rear, Dana 18 transfer case, and a T90 transmission with Borg Warner overdrive completes this rock-solid suspension and drivetrain conversion.
The engine is a 1964 Ford 260 cid V-8 out of a Fairlane. Engine routinely starts on first crank. A new ring gear on the flywheel, new starter and new clutch were recently installed by Action Cylinder Heads in Santee.

It’s a DJ-3A Body on a 1970s(?) 4WD chassis. No description provided.
Gayland shared this ad. It has no engine and the seller had begun converting it to 4WD. Looks to be 56337 10588 (I have DJ-3A #10538).

“For sale is a rust free 1956 DJ-3A. This vehicle was a barn find. I had the only rust spots repaired already. I am open to offers on this Jeep, their are many additional parts / extra parts that come with this jeep.
Frame is straight. I have slowly been buying new parts for this. I have a new front bumper and some other parts. The rims are correct for this jeep, the tires are just old tires to move it around.
I have the hood, windshield, fenders, grill, extra hubs, brakes, tire carrier, and most of the interior. No motor, tranny, or t-case but I know where you can get them in the area. Jeep was originally a 2wd. I have the correct axles to make this a 4wd.”
No pics provided. It’s a project.
https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/d/1965-jeep-project/6756379168.html
“This is a project I picked up earlier this year. It is titled as a 1965 DJ3A and shows 55K miles. I believe it was a hybrid built for the UN. The chassis and undercarriage is military with 4wd, pintle hitch and bumperettes. It has been modified with a Chevy 283 that starts and runs good. The body is enclosed like the mail jeeps but this was never a mail Jeep. It needs brakes on all four wheels. It was a driver at one point long ago but a previous owner started to change out the brakes and it was never finished. It has oversized wheels and tires to make it a roller. Wheels and tires could be easily sold. I am downsizing and need the room. A great fun project for someone.”
UPDATE: Back on eBay. Starting bid is $1300

“First year Dj3 in outstanding original condition. Jeep currently runs and idles very well. Jeep does have its cosmetic issues and some rot here and there as evident in the photos. The Fuel tank and lines will need cleaning and possible internal coating of tank (I have it running on a test tank). Motor runs very well with no signs of issues. Radiator holds and cycles coolant. Brakes will need attention.
The body is very solid. The original fiberglass top is in great shape.
Very close inspection after much insight given by those whom have DJ-3A`s of their own has revealed that the frame is most likely that of a CJ-2A. From information given to me and very careful cleaning of the upper frame area located in front of the body gusset on the right side of the jeep….there is no number stamped in the frame that I can see to denote it is a matched frame and body..”
UPDATE: **SOLD**
That’s a pretty stock DJ-3A. It doesn’t run at the moment.
“1964 jeep dispatcher (willy) 4 cylinder 2 wheel drive. In very good condition. It has been stored for many years so not currently running. It would be a great project jeep. Message me to come look at it.”

(10/05/2018) This former DJ-3A Convertible has been modified with 4WD.
“For sale is a 1960 Willys DJ-3A jeep project with clean title. I have replaced the 2wd axles with narrow track axles from a CJ5 with front disc brakes. Has 33″ 285/70/17 BFG AT tires on brand new steel wheels. It does not have seats engine or trans. Basically a rolling tub. Floor pan was cut up by previous owner who had a ford straight 6 installed in it. I have accumulated a few parts to get it back on the road but I just have too many projects now. I have a CJ-2a parts jeep with hard top and doors, has the flat head L134 which runs but needs plug wires and a fuel pump. No title on the parts 2a parts jeep. I also have a T150/dana 20 combo that will be included along with the 2wd 3a axles. I want to sell as a package and will have both jeeps on a trailer this weekend (Oct 6-7 Cruisin the Coast) and can work out delivery if desired. I will get pics of the parts jeep this weekend. Please no calls after 9pm”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8500.
(08/25/2018) “This very late edition DJ3A (2WD) Jeep came from Georgia. My regular, run around town, Driver Quality ride, Nicely restored, strictly stock, a tailgate model, three-on-the-tree, and I installed a newly rebuilt l-134 engine. Very dependable, 5 new NDT tires, and a real eye catcher. Has rear seat, beauty rings and “W” hubcaps. Built early Feb. 1964 makes this one of the last DJ3A’s, one of 58 built that month. NOTE: This Jeep is 2WD.”
Converted to 4WD. Has some cutlas hubs. Looks solid.

The serial number for the body is from a 1962 DJ-3A.

UPDATE: Price dropped to $1700. The gray body is from a 1956 or 1957 DJ-3A. It appears to have the King Seely 0-8 or 0-9 speedometer. The frame looks to be 2A.

“1946 and 1952 willy’s jeep 3 motors one almost rebuilt, 4 four wheel drive transmissions, 1 two wheel drive transmission, 1 complete body , roll bar and rag top for body. One jeep was taken apart but all there. Was going to restore but don’t have the time. second jeep almost whole. many new parts. very little rust. well worth the money. make offer”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9000.
(07/17/2018) The body looks to be a DJ-3A body. I don’t see anything that suggest this was a 1943 MB/GPW.
“I have a 1943 Willys for sale. It is in excellent condition. It has 20,200 miles on it! I have a second set of black Willys wheels with military tires for it as well. Paint is a year old. I have the doors for it. It has the original drivetrain.(Go devil flathead engine, t90 transmission with Warn overdrive!). I have a tow bar for it, so it can be pulled behind a truck or r.v. This is the 18th and most favorite Jeep I’ve owned. I don’t have to sell, but I’m moving in a couple of weeks, so the cash would be helpful in the coming months. This jeep will not disappoint you! I will consider reasonable offers, but please don’t lowball me”
