UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800.
Given the dry climate, these might be in decent shape even though they’ve sat for a while.
“Pair of postal Jeep’s right hand drive 1 ran when parked 5 years ago clean Az title on the 1 that runs boxed frame heavy duty suspension for a rock crawler or rat rod or street rod $1800”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.
This is a project. This appears to be a rare Right-hand-drive DJ-5 with the correct 8505025 serial number prefix (as opposed to the DJ-5 Dispatchers made for the post office).
“1969 Military Police Jeep Right Hand Drive DJ5
We started to restore it but no longer have the time.
4 New Military Tires
New Carburetor,
New hoses, New fan belt, New air in-take. New Radiator & New Thermostat.
Changed all fluids, did tune up. Turned it over to do compression test.
2 New Seats to go in, plus an extra bus seat for the back.
I started to sand it to have it rhino lined military green. We also have vendor for windshield glass and gasket.
Asking $5000 OBO Serious Inquiries Only, at this time have not driven it”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000.
This looks in pretty good shape. There are a variety of DJ-5s on Facebook for sale, unlike Craigslist which doesn’t show any for the southeast region. Listing jeeps (and other items) on FB, and not Craigslist, continues to be the trend.
“This 1974 Jeep/Am General is powered by a 232 inline six with a Borg/Warren Automatic Transmission. Don’t have doors and no glass except in front window. Has 2 reconditioned seats and new mirrors. Does not have power steering or power brakes.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.
Unfortunately, the driver’s side portion of the body has been hacked. The serial number of 8505025 identifies this as a Right Hand Drive DJ-5.
85: Code for Universal CJ-5
05: Open Body
0: Place holder
2: Right hand drive
5: F-134 with emission equipment (and a data plate confirms the emission equipment).

“Runs and drives very well, ive had quite alot of fun with this thing over the summer. Its definitely a head turner and people really do seem to enjoy it. This is an odd one.

“This is a 1971 Jeep (Postal Jeep) running on top of a 1993 Suburban 4×4 Big Block drivetrain… This is an unfinished project that I’m not going to have time to finish… The mechanicals are done and it runs and drives… Strong 454ci engine with TBI fuel injection and custom stand alone computer and engine wiring… Heavy duty 4L80E Trans… Dual exhausts… Power steering… Hydroboost brake system…
The Suburban drivetrain was from the limited edition version with the 1-Ton suspension and was low mileage… The whole thing is covered in Aluminum attached with hundreds of rivets… I have full pictures of it being built including pics the the removal/installation of the Suburban and Jeep bodies… Title is clean and registered on a non-op as a 1971 Jeep (so no smog)… This thing has had lots of hand fabrication work done to it that for the price I’m asking I will never get back!… If you’re looking for a completely unique project that is cheap and had most of the hard stuff done then my loss is your gain… There is a lot more done to it than you see in the pictures! Looks in pretty good shape. Has a V8.
“Selling a 79 Jeep DJ5 postal Jeep with a Chevy 283 V8 and Powerglide transmission. Jeep runs and drives, clean title in hand. Steering wheel is on the right hand side. Heater works. Has upgraded trans crossmember, aftermarket engine cradle, new transmission pan with stud kit, new oil pump, odyssey battery, new fuel pump, and exhaust done all in the last year. All tail lights, side markers, reflectors, mirrors, and door seals have been replaced. Strobe light on top works. I put down the mileage that’s on the odometer since the ad requires it, but the speedometer isn’t hooked up and the engine isn’t original to the Jeep so the mileage is unknown. Continue reading
MY best guess is that this is a CJ-2A body atop a DJ-5 2WD chassis.

“1947 Jeep Willys $4000Classic – Americana at its finest- Vintage Clean & clear title Check out our inventory! 3250 Clifty Dr Madison In 47250 bentleyandsonautosales.com”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
Jason’s got this DJ-5 for sale.
“Up for sale is my 1983 AM General DJ-5L right hand drive postal mail Jeep. Two wheel drive, runs and drives, Pontiac iron duke 2.5 4-cylinder oddly mated to a Chrysler automatic transmission. Matching set of 4 tires with full tread, and new exhaust. Brakes work, but the brake light is on. Rusty, patches over patches, the back of the frame was rusted out and welded back up with a 2″ hitch added.
I’m not sure if the 59,000 miles is original or if it has hundreds of thousands more. The only gauge that works is the ammeter, but the lights, windshield wipers, and heat work. Starter sometimes grinds when you start it. Back when I was selling on Ebay full-time I was going to use it to go to neighborhood rummage sales, but I’m not sure it’s road worthy.
Might make a better field car or trailer spotter, golf cart or cheap UTV, or use for parts, or some other off road use. Asking $1,500 or best offer, hard to know what to ask. Title comes with a signed MV2300 , if I’m understanding it right I shouldn’t have to put it in my name to sell it to someone else, but I can if necessary. I would just prefer not to give the DMV $164.50 for doing next to nothing. Also, I have a spare engine available with only 48,000 miles on it”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
(08/08/2020) It’s a colorful ice cream jeep, but also a little worn looking.
“Clown cones is selling the last of their two Jeeps. So if your looking for a fun way to make some extra cash and put a smile on people’s faces this summer, this ice cream truck is a must. This cute little Jeep is an old 83′ automatic mail Jeep DJ5 with the driver’s seat located on the right side of the vehicle. This little business was family owned and operated for 3 years here in Canon city making it established and well known. It comes equipped with a music box, 2 PA speakers, a small 4ft long by 4 ft tall by 2 ft wide freezer and a 2000 watt power inverter. All work well and are in good condition. You can get an inventory supply store as close as Colorado Springs. The Jeep is in good condition and runs great. Does need a little cosmetic matnence and some TLC. we have really enjoyed this business and are really going to miss it however we are moving and cannot take it with us. Asking 3000 firm”
This DJ has been converted to 4WD.

“Up for sale is my 1976 DJ-5D postal Jeep, right hand drive! Starts up runs great, has a 258 inline 6 motor, automatic transmission, manual transfer case, this Jeep has been converted to four-wheel drive. (Was 2wd factory) has 4-point harnesses, small roll cage in the back, headlights tail lights turn signals all work, heat works. Jeep is Rusty, has some leaks, but it is a very cool old piece of History and definitely turns heads anywhere you go! Daily drives fine, great Trail rig, even does great on the sand dunes!”
UPDATE: **SOLD**
Most of these are parts vehicles.
I have 9 mail jeeps djs late 70s-1980s non currently run. I have 2 that are pretty much complete 800$ each the rest are parts or will sell rolling chassis.

UPDATE: **SOLD**. Was No Price.
That 2A body has seen some mods. It appears to have full floaters in the rear.
“Price listed is not the price for all the vehicles. Im located in Los Banos, CA. I can tow the vehicle to you for the right price. Up for sale I have 4 classics I’m in need to get rid of. 1948 Plymouth Special deluxe, 1959 Chevy Apache short bed, 1946 Jeep CJ2A, 1983 Am General Postal Jeep. They are all projects so they dont run. You can buy or trade towards 1,2,3, or all 4. Let me know what you got.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $8950.
(03/12/2020) This custom 2WD creation is currently was being advertised as a 1949 jeep, but not anymore. The axles appear to be from a DJ-5B circa 1972. The centered pumpkin in the rear should help verify this era of rear axle. The body is a reproduction body. The frame could be something from 1962, hence the title.

“Vintage Willys Jeep – must see, garaged. Runs and looks great for such old vehicle! Has mount for machine gun. Also have soft top. Military plates on dash. Have to see to appreciate. New battery. Also comes with soft top. Windshield also folds down. Come with new exhaust system, which was just installed! Prefer cash deal but also may entertain trades. What do you have? Please come and inspect, you can drive it home! Looks and runs great.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $1650
(04/25/2020) The DJ-5 has the rear outboard springs. It may have a posi-traction rear. Given much fo the frame is boxed, this could be a good project frame.

“This is a like- new never installed Jeep CJ 3B tub and used DJ chassis.
The firewall is recessed to allow for a V-8 or different configuration than stock.
The tub and hood are made from galvanized material. The spot welds were covered to avoid oxidation.
The grille is an original one. I have no fenders or other parts.
The chassis is a Jeep DJ or 2 WD one, that is in very good condition, and is included.
Local delivery is negotiable.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
Appears solid.
“2 wheel drive, drives on the right, 4 clyl. runs great just had a tune up 48K miles on it”
