“Written up in the FOUR WHEELER magazine in may 2001 this is NOT your typical JEEPSTER…
It’s A 1950 Willys Jeepster…
MOTOR : 1996 Chevrolet LT1 350 cid Aspiration: Fuel injection
SEE THE PIC for more specs…
THIS VEHICLE IS WORTH IT!!!!
EVERYTHING was rebuilt in 2001″
Runs, but has been in storage for a while.
“I have a very nice Willys Jeepster Project. The car is fresh from a long garage storage. It is rust free. These are impossible to find as solid as this one is, Not a blister in it anywhere, original floors. It was nicely converted to to a Chevy 283 and Auto trans in the late 70’s. I Did get it running and it sounds good. Will move under its own power at least onto a trailer, but needs restoration. At very least, new battery and fuel system cleaned, also one front brake cylinder leaks. It is not a driver just yet. It has power bucket seats in front and I have the originals too. Body is 100% complete. First $7000 gets it.”
Steve Elkins reports the following:
“In case you’re wondering what happened to that cute little Jeepster Firetruck some of us have been following on eWillys, it will soon be used as a vineyard tour Jeep at the Gandona Winery in California’s Napa Valley. After two little mechanical problems on the tow vehicle extending the 1100 mile adventure by two days, I was finally successful in transporting the red Jeepster from Southern California to the Wine Country, Northeast of San Francisco.
The seller had a change of plans and had to let go of the red Jeepster. The buyer is new to the Willys experience and is really excited about his new purchase. A new steering wheel, and re-chroming the front bumper is the first order of work to spiffy-up the 65 year old chariot, re-powered with a second generation Buick 231 c.i. V6 and automatic trans.
After seeing this on eWillys, I enjoyed connecting the seller and the buyer. And I made a new Jeepster connection with the seller. He has a nice ’50 Jeepster, daily driver with a rare optional L6-148. We might just see him at the Willys America Open House on July 19, 2014.”

Restoration Parts are inexpensive and these cars are very rare and collectable. The Jeepsters are selling for 35,000.00 each after restoration. Here is an opportunity to build three highly desirable cars. The 1948 1949 and 1950 are the most collectable of all jeepster years. I am not interested in selling single units. I bought them as a package for 20,000.00 I have too many projects my loss is your gain. I can deliver these cars within 100 mile radius of Paso Robles, Ca.”

“1948 Willys Jeepster, sold as is , for restoration and or daily driver , was on storage without use for some years, bought for restoration upon impulse as I always wanted a jeepster but now I realized I still have three more projects ( 72 vette, 74 TR6 and a 1928 ford street rod) which I should complete before attempting a new project so need to make the space in the garage The jeepster has rust on doors and frame, put a new fuel pump and the engine starts and runs , will need carburator cleaning and refreshing see video on Youtube: Jeepster 1948 Ocala to hear the engine run, noticed that shifter lever got stuck and was easily released by moving the levers that go from the steering column to the transmission so some adjustment may be needed and or bushing . Jeepster is ideal for restoration and or use as driver as is a complete car with all its components, running engine, transmission, rear end , complete body, bumpers ,lights, rims , trim, side curtains and top,. front and rear seats are in good condition as well as the door panels. only visible dent I found is in the front apron behind the front bumper as you can see on photo . If want to use as driver, since car has been out of the road some years ,although it starts trasmission engages and brakes work , it will need complete mechanical inspection refreshing to assure safe use on the road to include but not limited to brakes, suspension, shocks, tires, steering components etc. therefore Jeepster will need to be trailered to its new location.”
UPDATE: Was $21,000. Status Unknown.

All original except the paint job. Willys dealer in Tacoma was original owner thru 1980, and gave it a great (heavy-duty) fire-engine red paint job. Chip on rear bumper deck shows car was originally yellow. No evidence of there ever being side steps. Glass good. Chrome good.
Looks ready for a sunny day.
“1948 Willys Jeepster VJ2 two door Phaeton convertible. Original yellow with black strips. This Jeepster has not been modernized in any way and retains that 1948 touring car look and feel. This is an extremely nice Jeepster, a real head turner and a “Thumbs Up” getter from other drivers! Just 19,000 Jeepsters were produced over 3 years. Original Hurricane L-134 flathead 4-cylinder engine (rebuilt in 1993) and a newly rebuilt 3 speed manual transmission with electric overdrive. New brake systems, new seat belts recently installed. The interior is in great shape with tan seats and black carpet. The top is in great condition and folds easily. All four side curtains are included and are in good shape. The body and frame are rust free.
