“M38A1 military Jeep for sale is not running but was when parked. The Jeep is 24volt and mostly original.
Has very little to none rot or rust. Has the two front and one rear seat and windshield and all the gauges.
Engine is the F head 4 cylinder, T-90 manual trans and all the running gear is stock.
Needs to be gone through and is an excellent restoration candidate. The M38A1 is the same as a CJ-5 but with a heavy duty frame that has the front section boxed. Priced to sell for either parts or restoration.
Can be flat towed or on a dolly.”
Could be a good price for the right person.

“I’m posting this post for a friend. His father passed away and left him with a life long collection of old Army Jeeps and everything Jeep parts. He also collected a few other old cars, wheels, tires, “real original baby moon hubcaps” as well as many, many other wheel covers for all kinds of old cars. Come walk through 6 acres of parts, cars, Jeeps, Jeep parts , ect. He also has more parts in Montgomery in Pops old garage and under the homes he owned. Call Mike at [hidden information] or Howard at 235-4979.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2800.
Here’s another M-38A1 with the extended rear. It looks to be a ’52 or early 1953.
“I really hate to part with this project, but I just have too many. This is an original military type jeep but what makes it even more rare is that it was extended in the back like a scrambler for some special purpose. (not a cj6 because they were extended between the wheels and this one is extended in the back. As you can see it it has the military dash board, windsheild, front grill, cut out for battery box and heavy duty suspension and steering components. It looks like someone modified it at some point with a Buick Dauntless V6 225 and it ran when i parked it here.
It needs a new floor and i have another tub with a great floor that i was going to cut out and put in this one but never got around to it. This would be such a great head turner project with just some big tires and a great military type paint job or like with any jeep, whatever you can emagine. Call me to take a look at it. I garantee you will not find another one like this! Almost forgot. I have a half cab top for this thing so it could look like a pickup if you like.”

“I am moving & selling my Willys M38A1 projects. There are 2 titles & enough parts to build 2 rigs & extra parts left over. 3 frames, extra axles, transmissions, transfer cases, fuel tanks, 3 windshields, seats, 2 roll bars, etc. One of the Willys is in the middle of being rebuilt & will roll around. It has tires on it & has been lifted & the frame has been boxed & it is set up with an adapter to put a small block Chevy in it. The body has been media blasted, but was never primered & has been stored outside for the past few years so it has surface rust on it. The other one is completely disassembled. Only selling because of the move. Call or text. Thanks.”
This does not have a title or the rifle.

I do not have the rifle and it is not titled.”
Seems like this is in good shape for the price.

(09/26/2017) A factory bed conversion for a CJ-5? Anyone ever run across that? It’s listed as a 1952, but it has CJ-5 grille and body at the very least. Looks like a ventilating windshield, too (thanks Dave).

UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $9550.
Could be worth a look. Seller has never put it in four-wheel-drive.
“his posting is for a 1952 Willys M38-A1 (US Army) Jeep with 59,182 miles. Stored indoors in a climate-controlled warehouse. Beautifully patinaed it runs great and starts every time. Top end is 60 MPH on a flat road (if you’re leaning forward). New starter, coil, five tires and tubes. Gas tank has been cleaned and sealed. Recent oil change. Four-cylinder 4-134 F engine with three speed T90 transmission that runs strong, but does leak a little oil . New complete engine/seal kit comes with the vehicle. Transfer case may or may not work, never put in four-wheel drive. 24-volt electrical system with built in trickle charger. Has roof bow but I’ve never had the canvas top (inexpensive and readily available). Lots of period extras, including practice grenade (drilled and used as shifter), hula girl, ammo box, 1951 oil can mounted to floor with a coffee cup holder, knapsack mounted to back of seat for storage, cut off key for security in glove box, rear view mirror, shovel under hood, blackout light works, Korean War canteen for radiator overflow, gas can, whip antennae, two-ton grill plate, hemp rope, tow hitch and hooks, and latch seat belts from a 1960 Havilland bomber.
Clean title. Vin#17272”
If it runs well and the body is solid, this might be worth a look. Will need some work. Has the EasyLok hubs and a hardtop.

(01/14/2019) TJ shared this Dutch-assembled M-38A1 jeep.
“1956 Jeep Nekaf M38A1 4WD Niederlandische Papiere
The Nekad M38 is actually a Willy’s M38 and was produced in the Netherlands under license.
The M38 is a military version of the CJ-3A.
The condition of this Nekaf is good, he has as few traces of wear here and there but it matches the condition of the militairy vehicle.
The engine of the Nekaf runs excellent and it drives very nice.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $16,130.
Robin shared this one. The sellers will accept US Silver Eagles …. This is a “complete restoration”, one that did not include removing the body. One pic shows the transmission crossmember, which looks like it could use a good cleaning (at the very least).
You can look long and hard and probably never find as nice a Willys M38A1 as ours, especially at this low an asking price with so much heavily invested into this restoration. We will consider partial trades, but not interested in anything in particular. We will accept partial to possibly full payment in US Silver Eagles, etc.

1952 Willys M38A1 Jeep Restoration Information:
With a complete restoration, short only of body removal which was not needed, this jeep has been restored to be a functionally perfect beautiful example of the venerable M38A1 with any parts needed, replaced with new items. The elderly previous owner had gone part way in restoring this M38A1 prior to our acquisition and our doing an extensive restoration to virtual show quality. The previous owner had done a partial restoration which included the electronic ignition, partial installation of new Painless brand wiring harness and fuse panel, engine transmission and drive train mechanical work (brakes, exhaust, seals, shocks, etc.)

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7000.
I assume the wires sticking out of the battery box was a temporary thing related to getting the jeep going. It looks solid.
“1954 Willys M38A1, original 24v, 4 cylinder. Military tires, roof believed to be original and in good condition (no rips/tears). Fording kit, heater, military 24v charging port installed. OEM Brass Fire Ext. All canvas including front radiator cover for winter. Some of the door/ side curtain fastener stays have started to pull through.
Inherited this from my father who owned it 10-12 years, I was probably the last person to drive it 2009-2010. Started working on getting it running again, cleaned fuel system, new carb, new starter. Start and runs, with a miss, not sure why. Need to get this moved to finish the garage it’s in.”
Looks like a good price.

Many extra parts original- this has been in the family and well cared for for a LONG time and it’s condition shows – always kept covered (very little rust) even the engine paint is original – black out running lights all work so enemy aircraft can’t target you!
