“1963 jeep m38a1. ex-marine corp jeep from california. excellent original body with v6 conversion. new 16” mud tires. have pto winch to go with it. has power lock diffs front and rear as spec’d by marine corp. engine came from a 1970 cj5. obviously not the original engine but still all jeep! front brakes updated to 11” drums. call 716-947-4754, evenings.”
Doug forwarded this eBay photo that references Operation Deepfreeze. Given the number “14” is written on the side of the jeep it would suggest there were other jeeps there, too. Here’s a link to a few images on G503 from Life Magazine.

(11/18/2013) Not sure what makes this “One of a Kind”, but it does look in good condition.
“One of a kind….1954 Willy’s Jeep, completely rebuilt, registered, insured and ready to drive away…This was my Dad’s pet project and he spent lots of time and money in fixing this jeep to great condition. Unfortunately he can no longer drive and has decided to sell. $14,500.00 is well worth the vehicle. More pictures and information available upon request.”

This needs another motor installed, but comes with a second.
“I’m selling my 1953 Willy’s jeep, body and drive train are on outstanding condition. The only problem with the Willy’s is that it needs a motor rebuild. Comes with two motors, two trans, two tranfercases. I payed 6,000 for the jeep, taking 2,000 off for the seized motor. Great deal! Please only respond if truly interested. I bought the xtra motor to fix this one. The trans and transfercase are exra. The reason for the engine problems was the oil pick up was clogged and I seized a rod to crank. I do not want to get rid of the beautiful pice of American history but my family come first. Please call me at 9896154327.”
This looks pretty original to me. I wonder what the history is.
“1953 Willy’s Jeep. For more information call Ernest McGoy at 404 910 9220.”
I spotted this ten page Stewart Warner 978 heater Instruction manual on eBay. Then I found what I believe is the actual heater itself. Seems like a neat combo.
Here’s the heater: It is a Southwind Stewart Warner 978 M heater. This looks to be for a 6V vehicle though.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $800
Given this runs and has a full soft top, this might be a good price.

My son Karson will be in Virginia another week before ending heading back to Sacramento where he completes his FEMA/Americorps experience. During his travels this past year he’s introduced a variety of people to eWillys (well done!). This weekend he was hiking with friends in the Blueridge Mountains where he spotted this M-38A1 on a trailer all by itself.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500
The winch alone might be worth the cost of the jeep.
“Recently got this to restore and found that I just don’t have the time and resources. I would rather it go to someone who knows what it is and can get it running again. It is a project and does NOT run. It is complete though. Can deliver for a fee.”
UPDATE: Was $3500. **SOLD**
