The tread on the spare tire is just great.
“For auction is an 7 x9 inch original US press photo of a BRC (Bantam Recon. Car). It was issued to the press on 3/19/1941 to publicize the development of the Bantam military car.”

These photos were featured with other photos that were published weekly by the Cortland Standard of Cortland, NY. I love the “Pistol Packing Mama”.
UPDATE: Was on eBay.
Here’s an unpublished photo of Helen and Frank and their gap Tortuga that I hadn’t seen. This is from their initial trip down to South America.
“1956 Press Photo Helen and Frank Schreider Viewing Plaza De Mayo From Their Jeep”
Original press release photo shows the wagon driving off road.
“This is an original press photo. Credit NEAPhoto measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 8-19-1949.”
This February 1956 story in Willys News tells the story of an Ohio Willys dealer who tried a creative way to market DJs in his town.
Perhaps this CJ-5 was the first fringed jeep? The photo was published in the February 1956 issue of Willys News.
The object in front of the jeep is a nibbled out haystack.
“WWII PHOTO= PVT. HERING SCRAPING MUD FROM HIS MB GPW JEEP 1944.”
Marc spotted this jeep. For some reason the larger version had an unusual overlay on it so it’s not very clear.
“U.S. MARINE CORPS PEEP (MB GPW JEEP) BLITZES MOSQUITO BRIGADE GUADALCANAL 1943.”
Most of these are WWII pics, though there is a Tour De France (or similar bike race) photo in the mix.
All photos were made from National Archive photos and are 8×10″. The seller has many more jeep related photos for sale on ebay.

Here are a few of the photos:
A February 1956 article in Willys News told the story of a special promotion in Wenatchee, Washington. Drivers who brought their jeeps could get into the local baseball game for free.
Great press photo.
“1942- Soldiers in a Bantam BRC-40 Jeep towing a 37mm anti-aircraft gun go airborne as they top a hill at high speed.”
Marc pointed out that these soldiers are wearing British style helmets. It also looks like one of the jeeps doesn’t have a glove box, indicating it is possibly a slat grille. I did a couple searches, but couldn’t locate the Grand Hotel Du Pacifique.
“WWII U.S. ARMY PHOTO OF MB GPW JEEPS WITH 37MM GUN AND 1 1/2 TON CHEVY 4X4 TRUCK. This is a (U.S. ARMY SIGNAL CORPS) photo copy made from the original negative at the National Archives 25 years ago. This is a nice sharp 8″ x 10″ in excellent condition.”
Marc spotted this neat photo.
“1941 original silver gelatin photograph of Life Photographer George Rodger. Flying Tigers A.V.G. in Burma. Image shows Flying Tiger AVG Burma base, jeeps and medivac building, shark nose art fighter planes in background. There is no byline on the back but they are part of the George Rodger photographs.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** on eBay for $30.95. This one was sold in 2015. The one below was sold in 2013 (price unknown). Both have the same blemish.
April 2013, on eBay:

“WWII SAN ANGELO ARMY AIR FIELD PHOTO “AIR FIGHTERS ON THE GROUND” MB GPW JEEP 43. (SAN ANGELO ARMY AIR FIELD BOMBARDIER SCHOOL) This is a nice sharp 8″ x 10″ photo in excellent condition.”
The seller of these photos knows jeeps pretty well to spot this as a slat grille.
“WWII PHOTO EARLY SLAT GRILL MB JEEP AND CCKW of the 4th F.A. BN.”
Charles shared some Dutch Federal Police photos with jeeps emblazoned with KONMARECHAUSSEE.
Here’s a rare photo of a Willys MA.
“WWII PHOTO 1941 Pvt. Lawrence Miller in a MA Jeep @ Fort Benning, GA. This is a nice sharp original 2″ x 3″ photo in excellent condition.”
