Sean forwarded these photos. If I had to put a caption to the first one it would be, “TOO HIGH! TOO HIGH! I didn’t sign up for this!”

Keystone Automobile Club Jeep
I found this interesting photo of Bennet Larson and a few others standing in front of a Keystone Automobile Club Jeep. Keystone was an automobile club that was absorbed into the AAA Mid-Atlantic in 1965. The photo was taken in/near Philadelphia. I imagine the jeep was used for helping stranded motorists or patrolling?

1962 Jeep Trip into Canyonlands
UPDATE: It looks like a few of these photos are reversed, especially the one below.
Frazier discovered these 1962 Canyonlands trip photos within the digital archives of the University of Utah. He’s a big Landrover fan, but also has a soft spot for old jeeps, too.
He wrote, “I thought you might be interested in these pictures I found in the University Of Utah’s digital library. They were taken during the filming of “The Sculptured Earth”, which was a film to promote the creation of Canyonlands National Park. You’ll have to excuse the university watermarks, but they are some pretty great shots.. (and yes, as you’ve probably found out by my email I’m a huge Land Rover fan…. But I have a deep obsession/respect for the vehicle that started it all!)”
According the to the University of Utah, The Sculptured Earth (see the photos below and more here)” was a 45-minute film promoting the creation of Canyonlands National Park, produced by Charles Eggert in 1962 at the request of Interior Secretary Stewart Udall and the National Park Service.

“From Lt Robert D. McTierney, Hawaii Photo Album stationed at Ft. Shafter, Oahu. The first dates written in the album part way through the album are from early 1942 to Christmas 1942, he was with QM.”
Carol Landis and Jeeps
Paul alerted me to this first photo of Movie Star Carole Landis in a jeep. Given the passenger door, I’m wondering if it might have been some type of Holden modified Australian MB?
This first photo is located at a UCLA website. The jeep sure looks similar to a jeep that was for sale in 2010.
She was also photographed in a Ford GP Prototype:
But, she might be most famously connected with jeeps due to her role in the movie Four Jills in a Jeep from 1944. The photo below and the image of the book below that were posted at this website:
Carole even wrote a book about her experience entertaining the troops which was also published under the name Four Jills in a jeep,.
Photo of WACs with a Ford GP

Just the print, not the negative, was for sale.
“You are buying a high quality, 8×10 inch photograph. It is printed with Archival Inks on Premium Heavyweight Photographic Paper. The photograph is made from the original glass or celluloid negative or from the original photograph. My photographic reprints are known for their sharpness and beautiful warm tone. This image shows a WAC recruiting photo from Detroit Michigan featuring a Army Jeep. I combine the shipping on multiple photo purchases, so don’t forget to check out my Ebay Store.”

Photo of Three Soldiers in France on eBay
This jeep appears to have an interesting carrier on the rear, but it’s hard to tole much from the photo.
“Tired US Armored Division Soldiers Rest in France”
1941 Photo of BRC-60 and Men with Rifles on eBay
I’ve never seen an original version of this press photo from February 6, 1941. Great photo! The use of the term “Might Midget” rather than jeep or blitz buggy is notable.
“This is an original press photo. Dept- US Army Service Corps, Credit – ACME & NEAPhoto measures 9 x 7inches. Photo is dated 02-6-1941.”
Jeep @ the Poe Motor Company
Buz found this photo from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He writes, “This is Poe Motor Company a Plymouth/Desoto dealer, the building still stands, maybe one day I can get a photo of my CJ3A in front of it, I believe the building is now a restaurant.” The Poe Motor Company name is painted across the windshield.
1941 Photo of Willys MAs in San Francisco
Here’s a fantastic photo from Crissy Field near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It sure looks way different now! I found the photo at this military mashup site, which has a good collection of jeep prototype photos.

Marc found this great photo. Lots of jeeps and lots of families!
“1944 Press Photo Indiantown Gap Pennsylvania Governors & Families Loaded Jeeps”
1940s Photo w/ note from Alaska on eBay

1944 Photo of General Henry Lewis w/jeep on eBay
