Does need a little work. Looks straight.
“This vehicle is all original to include its drive train. It has the original flat head 4 cylinder engine that runs good, and the original 3 speed transmission with two speed transfer case. It is equipped with the original military non directional style tires that are in good condition. The brakes were done a few years back and are fine. The charging system was being converted to 12 volt and needs to be completed. The truck needs to be painted and could use some rust repairs in the cab floor. The truck has a good bed with the very rare original tailgate with the Willys Overland logo. The gas tank was replaced within the last few years.
The truck is currently registered with the California DMV and has no fees due.
I am only selling this truck to free up resources for other projects I am doing. While the price is what it is, I am open to reasonable offers as well. Please contact me via email with “1953 Willys” in the subject line or call me”

“I have for sale my Dads Willys pickup. It is equipped with a small block Chevy 283 engine in it. Engine runs but haven’t ran it in awhile, certain it’ll fire right up once we prime the fuel system again. It’s also equipped with all new front disk brake conversion which was never fully ran as it needed bigger rims to accommodate the disk brake setup. The front disk brake setup alone cost $1000 new. We also have with the disk brake kit a Wilwood brake master cylinder which we didn’t put on yet. Comes with all hardware and instructions to complete installation. With very little work it’ll make a
I’m sure someone out there is proud of this trailer, but honestly, if I brought that home to Ann, I’d be sleeping in it alone …. with all my belongings. Of course, there’s that old saying: there’s a trailer for every traveler. Okay, I just made that up.

(06/02/2016) Looks like an interesting rig.
“We purchased this vintage ’49 Willys truck about 7 years ago to add to our array of classic trucks intended for full restoration. We have only driven it around on our homestead periodically during that interim, putting less than 50 miles on it.
We bought it at a high price even without body or paint work done because the previous owners had done an incredible amount of mechanical type work in that restoration process stretching from 1997 to 2005. The truck mostly sat until we bought it in 2007-8 period into the tune of about $10,000 total invested into the truck.
In the paperwork received with it there was a thick stack of receipts of work done. Like a dummy, I threw away some of them before realizing what the receipts were. I have gone through the many line items of the receipts to come up with the below list. The line items of work during the restoration process was about $8,400, but the total paid on account receipts were over $15,000, so we evidently do not have all the line item work receipts. It does appear this may have included the cost of the truck as well, but it is hard to tell. The old guy that had the work done had hardly driven the truck with low miles since the work was done according to his relative from whom we purchased the truck.

“***MAKE AN OFFER***Up for sale 1954 Willys flat bed truck under construction. Current condition the truck has Dana 44’s under it with high steer kit, new power steering, new power brakes, new hydraulic clutch setup, all new brake lines, new Trxus 35” tires on smoothy rims, running inline 6, t-90 3 speed, dana 18 transfer case and more. Comes with; 2-SM465 4 speeds with super low compound gear, original dana 30(?) front & HD timken rear both with 538 gearing, new cab for parts or to replace the existing cab that has a rusted roof, extra fenders and grill and more. New cab has some issues like rusted floors and lower right cowl. I have the patch panels to fix all rusted areas of new cab.
This truck has the right stance macho without being ridiculously high. The flatbed is bad ass looking.
I have a lot into this truck and I am realistic knowing I will take a loss but please for the sake of fellow jeep and 4x4er’s keep you offer reasonable. Believe me if you buy this truck you will be far ahead of the game than I. I’m just am tapped out of cash and can’t afford to finish it. I marked this as missing title but did a dmv search and no record was found which means all you have to do is apply for a new title. Truck does have a legible vin plate.
