Craig spotted this one. It has potential.
“Engine: 226 Super Hurricane 6 cyl. Rebuilt by Romonds Jeep in Plainfield, NJ with 5K miles on it.
Drivertrain: T-90 3spd Trans with T-18 Spicer transfer case. Original Dana differentials with Locking hubs.
Has original wheels with tabs for hubcaps.
All original parts: Solid doors with some dents that need fixing. Good glass. Has been garaged for past 35 yrs. I don’t have time to finish this one and want it to go to a good home.
Previous owner: Bell Tell with original OD green. Passenger seat & floor section removed since passengers were prohibited in vehicles. I have replacement glovebox section for under seats.
Restoration needs: Front driver & passenger floor pans, replace glovebox section of floor, repair rust thru in top right roof corner due to leaky exhaust fan, brake system and wire for 12 volt since this is a 6 volt system. Doors all close very solidly.”

“With a very heavy heart I have decided to part with my jeep. I did a complete restoration on this jeep back in the late 90’s, had it in several Petaluma Veteran’s Day Parades, and used it as a regular driver for a long time. I drove the hell out of it, so much so that it needed to go through another rebuild. And that is where she is today, in the middle of a rebuild. However, I find that I am at an impasse and I’m just not getting this project done so it’s time to go.

On Sunday Ann and I went to visit Rich and the “Tender” jeep wagon/truck he has for sale. The truck is in pretty rough shape, but the shell of it could be re used. However, there are lots of bees. The bees limited my ability to take pics, especially of the inside. Yet, it was the inside of the truck that demonstrated the vehicle was definitely not a factory jeep.
My theory is that someone saw one of these Tenders in Israel. Inspired, when they returned to the states they built a few of these, hence the reason several look the same. They must have had some skills, because the top looks great on the top. It’s only on the underside of the ceiling that you can see the seam near the back. Moreover, it looks like a flat fender hood channel is used along the underside of the ceiling to provide support.
On the outside of the back of the top, there’s a crack in what appears to be some bondo. The quality of the work is again good and matches the other side.
It looks like the top of the sides of the former wagon has been capped. There appears to be cracks forming along the metal (see pic above … note crack about an inch below the top of the rear of the bed).
Other pics and notes:
The tailgate was not finished. The lip on the top of the tailgate was left as it was. The area underneath the tailgate window at the back of the cab looks like it might have been blocked with wood. I did not look too closely. This “Tender” was modified with a spring over axle, but the original spring perches were left.

“Title is clean and vehicle is street legal.
The drivetrain is a Chevy 4.3 T.B.I., SM465 transmission, NP205 T-case, Dana 44 front, and 14 bolt rear. Driveshafts are custom made by Tom Woods. Tires are 36″ Super Swamper TSLs that have like-new tread. Equipped with on-board air and an old school Warn 5721 winch. Comes with a Meyer hardtop. The hard top could use some body work. I will also include a Bestop Tigertop soft top. The soft top is mostly complete but missing the snaps, fasteners, and a door jamb rod. Many other extras and spare parts: original rear bumper/hitch, tow bar, hi-lift jack, etc. ”
