Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The engine runs smooth with no smoke (I was told by the former owner that the engine has been recently rebuilt).
The Gas Tank is there and appears to be restorable
the cab floors are rusty but no big holes
All the glass is there, Windshield is in good (not great) condition
A plow ( not in working condition is included in the sale)
The engine cover is there and in good shape
The pickup box is all there, but would need to be completely restored.

Willys made a showing at an international oil show. The Jeep-A-Trench and Jeep-A-Drill were particularly interesting to the participants. This appeared in the May 1955 issue of Willys News.

“1951 Willys CJ-2A runs and drives. Solid frame and body. New tires and suspension. Extra parts: new fuel pump, new front bumper not yet installed, jerry can, spare tire, new spare tire mount, and more.”
It’s been stored for about 35 years. Runs and drives. Has Washington State title.
“Nice old Willys. Very original and complete!! It was stored from 1979 until recently. All original 4cyl. flathead and 3spd. trans. It now has new brakes (pads, wheel cylinders, spring kits, hoses, master cylinder, and one new drum), new battery, new plugs and wires, new belt, new head gasket, manifold gasket, water pump and thermostat housing gastkets, rebuilt carburetor, new fuel pump, filter and hose (could use a gas tank treatment, but its not too bad). It has nice old tires in good condition, all the guages are functioning and in good condition, it even has nice original wiring in pretty good conditon. Aftermarket underdash heater probably circa 1960s not sure of the core condition. Runs cool, charges at 6.3-6.5 volts, clutch feels good, four wheel drive works great, aftermarket warn locking hubs are smooth as silk. Early bronco front bumper with tow bar (1 7/8″ ball) She’s a great old jeep and I’d love to pass her on to someone who would like to continue the revival! I was planning on keeping her, but other projects and endeavors are calling. It was a Washington vehicle and I have the signed washington title and the two license plates. Come take her home!”

“FOR SALE: 1944 MB 307788 (frame #) with newly rebuilt engine MB 441194 (7-5-44) and what appears to be the original tub (#2109). This jeep comes with its own title.
$15,000 located in Summerville, SC.
I originally began this restoration in September of 2011. All of the major components (axles, transmission, transfer case, etc.) were opened, inspected and items repaired/replaced as needed. Installed reproduction MV Spares wire harness and utilizes the original 6-volt electrical system. The tub was taken down to bare metal with the rust-through areas replaced. By no means is this factory-style tub: I did not bother smoothing out the majority of the dents. The original bumper is not perfectly straight, either.
The MB engine was just recently rebuilt. The machine work was done in September 2014 and the engine was assembled in October. NO CRACKS were found in both the head and block. The pistons were bored out to .060. Number 4 cylinder was sleeved. The crankshaft mains were ground to .020 and the rods were .040. The machinist also removed the old valve guides and installed the new guides. The head was decked to ensure level.”

“I have a one-of-a-kind 1946 Willys CJ-2A Jeep. It is probably the most original, most pampered Willys of this vintage you will find. It turns heads where ever it goes.
Originally bought by my grandfather’s best friend, it has been garaged in Northern California its entire life. It became my grandfather’s in 1960, my father’s in 1970, and mine in 2000. It has never been restored, since it never needed it. Re-Painted (off frame) in the 1970s, when the locking hubs and overdrive were added.

(07/28/2014) This is back up for ‘possible’ sale. It’s an unusual build. It’s listed as a ‘1948 willys jeep m38’.
“I was posting some other items and thought I would post this vehicle and test the waters. I’m not really wanting to sell this just got it up and running. It is tagged road legal (barely) It always draws attention and looks. It is a reproduction m38 willys flat fender tub. sitting on a 1978 ford bronco frame that has been bobbed. There is a 6 inch rancho lift with 35″ tires. The engine is a 1976 ford 400 big block! the motor weighs almost as much as the tub! It is a beast sounds good and runs great. It has a hydro boost brake booster. The hood was raised two inches and the nose was stretched about 8 inches to accommodate the motor, nice 4 core radiator, doesn’t get hot. Full roll cage attached to the frame. 5 point harnesses. It does have a heater and a manual wiper on driver side. New windshield that can tilt out. Painless wiring box. All new wiring. lights work. There is a locker in the rear, not sure on the gear ratio. the 4×4 works. It has a c6 transmission with b&m shifter. I believe I know what this is worth and I know what I have put into it. I’m very curious what someone else would be willing to offer for it. Please no low ballers I know it is worth more than a “plane jane” wrangler so don’t make offers less than that! If you are looking for a one of kind rock crawler that is street legal this is it! It is not a show vehicle it has just enough patina & roughness that makes it look good and you don’t mind taking it off road. Yet, it still looks good at the local drive in too!”

“Here is your opportunity to get a great piece of American ingenuity and history. This is a one of a kind train built back in the 1950’s by hand. I do not know anything of the man that built it but believe he must have had some railroad experience or a great understanding of how a train operates on the tracks. The train is built with front suspension that allows it to turn with the tracks along with allowing it to float into the turns with the spring suspension. The rear of the train is designed with the same setup. The drivetrain is built of a war time 1944 Willys Jeep. It has the L-head 134.2 cubic inch inline 4 cylinder Go Devil Engine. Followed up with a T-84 3 speed transmission. The transmission has what looks to be a custom transmission brake on it for slowing the train. The transmission is followed up by a shortened drive shaft to a narrowed rear-end to which came from the same jeep.
The motor spins free and everything looks to be in place as well as the transmission shifting. I have not tried to start it. Last time it was reported to be ran is when it was parked about 20 years ago. The rest of the train is built with a stout frame and a beautifully done engine cover hand formed from numerous sheets of skins to give it a period correct look of its time. The head light is from a 1941 Chevrolet car.

Just painted, rust proof undercoat and inner tub rhino lined. Sure I’m forgetting something. Load of extra parts(front end, transmission, transfer case, axles, towbar, gears, etc.)”
