I have the orginal L head motor with a brand new headgasket ran when removed , Dana 44 free float axels, New suspension, new gas tank, lights, bumpers, body parts, grilles, tires, rims, the Original 3 on the tree transmission, transfer cases, pto, seats, etc. The list goes on I have everything and more! (10/18/2014) It’s a project with a funky top. Listed as a 1945, it’s later than that.
“Willys Overland Jeep CJ 2A 60mph max, has tailgate, doors, hard top, has engine (not running), has tail lights, has front grill, hood, needs tires, Great for museum restoration project.”
I hope everyone gets to enjoy themselves on this day of rest (and shopping … lol). Ann’s making tonight’s dinner, so I have the night off of cooking.
Below is a 1948 Popeye cartoon that features two jeeps.
Here’s an official Jeep Jockeys souvenir program I found on ebay a couple years ago. I finally scanned it yesterday. Many of the photos didn’t print well, but it’s still an interesting booklet, especially for those like me that recognize some of the racers names. I was disappointed by all the ads, but I included them in the scans.
A little background information: the Yakima Jeep Jockeys of Yakima, Washington, formed a club in 1963. In 1965 they incorporated and joined the Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association. Beginning in 1971, the club held a series of Jeep Jockeys 4×4 Championship Races. They held them at leaf through 1977, but I do not know how much longer they were held after that year.
Exploration Northwest featured the 1977 race in one of their 1977 episodes. I was given permission to share two video clips from their episodes here.
You might remember Ron Day’s photos from a 1977 Yakima Race. It seems to be the same race that was featured in the souvenir program below.
This early Yakima Ridge Runners “Jeep Rodeo” race was captured on film. It’s short, but still fun to watch. It’s called “Jeep Jockeys Jar and Jounce“.
This is a still from the video. You can click on the picture to reach the video.
Is the trailer upside down to protect the occupants or something else?
“Original Vintage Snapshot Photo WWII Army Jeep & Trailer Size is 3.25×2.5″ inches.”
UPDATE: Was $10000. **SOLD**
Looks solid, though it is missing part of the grille hinge that attaches to the frame.
The floor is probably gone. The package probably deserves a closer look.
“I have for sale a 49 Willys Jeep that I found rotting in a field in the country and a Bantam trailer from the same era. I have a clear title for the Willys but do not have a title for the trailer. The price is for the Jeep and the trailer, for additional money($500) I have an aluminum cab enclosure with doors(rare option)
The floor pan need to be replaced as well as other issues(I have some really nice pans to go with it we ordered for another project that didn’t fit so this is some nice metal you can cut to fit-see pic)
The motor in the old Willys is stuck…..
Has solid bones though……
If you are a Willys Purest come save this old girl before I put the tub on another frame and make a rat rod out of it with a black smoke puffing diesel motor hanging out of the front of it! Seriously I don’t have time for it, it has to go and I would rather see it “restored”, I will trade for other projects Harley, other old stuff, motorcycles, ATV’s, whatever just no electronics or crap in the back of your garage (if you don’t want it I most likely don’t either, lol) all serious offers considered, low ballers please don’t bother, you’re only wasting your own time, thanks
Please call with your questions, i don’t have time for an all day back and forth of texting that we can figure out in a 5 minute conversation!! Thanks!!”
UPDATE: Was $10,000. **Status Unknown**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $400.
It’s very rough.
“1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A for sale, $400. Has T90 transmission and Dana 18 twin stick t-case, both will shift. Has both axles, but is missing brake drums and wheels so it is not a roller. (we can get it on a trailer using some parts that I will keep). Roll bar is hand made from a GPW, not currently attached. Previous owner put sheet metal over all of the floor pans, not sure of condition underneath, but I assume rust is a-plenty. The frames on these typically rust through on the passenger front from battery acid, this one has a small crack to weld…better than most I have seen (or own). Front bumper is heavy, set up for a winch. I would not pick this as a restoration project, but if you want a flatfender Jeep to have fun in, this is it. Big things that are missing: the title, hubs, wheels, engine, left front leaf spring and windshield frame.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.
“Complete willys with original Motor and tranny.
Almost ready for paint. Has some new parts, some parts have been sand blasted and painted.
Has all 5 rims and tires. Running condition. Check out what the body parts are worth alone.
Make me a fair offer, They are not making these any more. Has 24000 miles and a clean title..”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was Make Offer
(06/24/2014) This is a project.
“Project jeep. New wiring bumper to bumper, 350 motor conversion. New aluminum fuel cell, 35 ” tires, lots of new parts, white face phantom gauges, custom radiator and electric push/pull fans. Over $15000 invested. Make offer.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.
(06/02/2014) The windshield’s got a bit of a backward lean.
“Looking to sell my 1948 CJ2A. Jeep is all original drive train, rebuilt body. It has a clear Florida title but is not currently registered. I use it for driving around my property and I keep it under shelter and out of the rain. The person who rebuilt the body moved the gas tank to the back seat location with a large fuel cell. It runs great and I recently flushed and filled the transmission, removed the oil pan to clean and replaced the oil filter and canister. Only trades considered would be a nice side by side to work on my property and play with.”
UPDATE: Was on eBay. Now on Craigslist for $275.
This unique rare sign originally from Belchertown, Massachusetts, is made of wood. It’s amazing it has survived. It is just under 1′ x 3′. Seller is taking offers.
“Great looking sign in excellent condition.; Painted on pine board. and colors are bright and excellent. Not sure if this was made to stick in bed of truck. Measures aprox. 10 x 32″. Dates to 1950’s.I believe.”

I found a 1961 article in the Chicago Tribune announcing the Willys Convertible Jeep. In actuality, it’s an announcement of the Tuxedo Park series of CJ-5. Interesting that it was positioned as a convertible.

Looks like an interesting find with all kinds of extras.

“I have a 1954 Willys CJ-3B for sale. This vehicle runs and shifts just as it should. I have owned this Willys for about a year and done the following work.
New brakes (front and rear shoes and drums)
New brake lines
New complete exhaust system
New shocks
New windshield
The previous owner said the engine and transmission was re-built about five years ago. Both work as they should. This one has a three speed transmission with a overdrive. You can keep up with traffic and drive at 60MPH all day. Please see the pictures for more information. This is truly is a nice Willys. Let me know if you have any questions.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500.
“his jeep was used in the film industry. It would be good for a restoration. I had put a new gas tank, rebuilt carb and rebuilt starter and new battery. The electrical has been converted to 12 volts. It also has a Stainless steel role bar with lights. It needs a ring gear for fly wheel. I have the part. I have all the parts that are NOT seen in picture. I am disabled and cannot finish. Done all I can. This jeep deserves a full restore. It has a PTO winch in the back. Needs paint and small amount of body work (hood and driver fender). All original parts also some extra parts that come with it.”
No obvious rust.
“I am selling a 1960s Willy’s Wagon Jeep for $5000.00, it has all original parts. It is in driving condition. Tires are great. cash only…no scams please”
