Paul’s ‘Goddess’ forwarded me a link about Yale’s Photogrammar website that contains 170,000 photographs from 1935 to 1945 created by the United State’s Farm Security Administration and Office of War Information (FSA-OWI).

Jan’s Victory Toy Jeep
Jan contacted me about a toy his father picked up in Maastricht (Netherlands) at the end of WWII. He didn’t know the history of the toy and asked if I knew. I didn’t know either, but after some research, I learned this toy was called a victory toy and made in the Netherlands following their liberation in WWII. However, what’s not clear is who manufactured these toys. Was it “Victory Toys” or were these ‘victory toys’ made by a manufacturer not of that name?

(06/07/2014) Here’s a ‘Coca Cola’ themed jeep.
“I am selling my 1978 Jeep CJ7. It is originally from Texas where there is almost no humidity which has kept it rust and rot free. It has an in-line 6 cylinder with 57k on the odm and a manual 3 speed. It has been serviced by my local mechanic and is regularly maintenanced. Garage kept, shifts like a dream and runs like a beast. 4 wheel drive is in perfect working order and has not been in any automobile accidents. The body is pretty much dent free for being all original; not bad for being over 30 years old. Any Jeep enthusiast knows this Jeep is a gem. I have title and am ready to make a deal, although I do not want to part with it. No low ball offers and no trades please so serious inquiries only. This Jeep doesn’t depreciate in value. I have a hard top with doors and also have soft half doors. New tires and red seat belts to match the color scheme. Not my daily driver, never off road, it has only been driven locally to the gym or store and is parked the majority of the winter besides a ride up the street to keep things lubed. Never been bonded, no body work has ever been done or needed to be done. Can be an excellent show car with a new paint job.”

(07/07/2014) Nice looking CJ-6. Are those plates on the sides original?
“This is an original Kaiser Jeep with the original 225 V6 engine. The engine is strong and runs great. It has a new Rochester carburetor with original oil bath filter. The transfer case, shifters, and lockers are all fully functional. The gearbox is quiet and shifts excellently. Just had the seats professionally re-upholstered to the original specs. It also has the original front seat belts. Lap belts of course. This Jeep is solid all around and with no rust issues. The body on the Jeep is also all original with no welding or modified hack jobs. The suspension has never been modified. It has a new speedometer. The paint is not original and faded as it is a classic Jeep. The top is in rough shape but it comes with all of the bows and door frames. This is an old Jeep, but extremely well preserved in great running condition. You rarely find them like this anymore.”

Four wheel drive in Granny will take you up any incline you have the guts to go up. Not the smoothest ride because of the leaf springs but she will outperform most all the ATV out there. “This jeep runs well and all gears work normal. It was modified for two gas tanks but I took the extra one out. I still have it. It fits under the passenger side and will go with the jeep if you want it. Light rust is found in most places, mostly surface type but its mostly solid. A few bad spots here and there. It will make an excellent hunting rig. This steering has also been modified and the steering gear box is on the front bumper which makes it more stable and takes out the wobble in the front tires. High arcs on the leaf springs, which is like new. Front bumper hinge attachment mounts for easy hook up for towing. This jeep has sat for 8 years and has been put back into service. It cranks fast and you cant beat it. No roll bar. It has a home made camo paint job, CB hook up, two seats in front, empty bed in back, spare tire on right side original size tire on spare rack, large tires on the ground, original 4 cyl engine 134, original Willys tail gate, the windshield will not fold down to the front because a support angle iron was welded to the sides of the frame for roll over protection, an alternate horn button was put in for the horn. No leaks have been found as of yet at least in the eng oil and watter systems. There is no rust in the radiator. Inter locking hubs on front wheels. Must see. Im working on pictures now. If interested call john at eight oh five-nine for four-for to one two.”
