Before I get to the brakes, this past Friday Ann’s mother Rosemary decided to buy a motorhome. Well, not that she’d decided on Friday, but rather earlier in the week she caught the motorhome bug. After plowing through websites, stats and prices over a period of several days, she learned there was a local motorhome show happening. On Friday she and Ann went down to the show and found a 28′ Sunseeker. On Saturday, we brought it home.
I bring this story up because I’d already been planning to head to Seattle for a few days to taken advantage of the nice weather and work on Biscuit. On Saturday I left with the understanding that Ann, her mother, and Ann’s aunt Kathy planned leave on Saturday as well. They were going to drive the motorhome (Apparently nicknamed ‘Abby’ at this point) to Spokane, then head to Seattle to drop off Ann with me. Next, Rosemary would head south to Vancouver, before turning back toward Pasco.
They spent the night Saturday night in Spokane, but instead of going to Seattle, I got word on Sunday that Rosemary hijacked the plans and decided to head to Montana (with Ann and the wheel). Over the next few days they camped in several spots (Walmarts on two occasions — which offers free camping) in Montana and Wyoming. After staying Thursday night in Yellowstone, they finally arrived late Thursday night back home in good spirits.
Apparently the navigation in the motorhome doesn’t work well. They ended up traveling on this gravel road through western Montana on this gravel road at night.
This World Market was right across the parking lot from the Walmart where they stayed in Billings. Not exactly my idea of camping, but they were having fun.

I have taken more than 12 pictures, so see below for all of them. Some other small pieces may fall off during shipping. The paint job on these pieces is EXCELLENT, whoever did the painting did 10 times better than I could. Some of the rubber treads have dry rotted.

“Willys Jeep CJ3B. I have clear MN title including up to date license plates. Runs and drives nice, has the F head 4 cylinder motor that purrs like a kitten. 3 speed manual transmission shifts nice and both high and low four wheel drive works nice. I installed a brand new brake master cylinder and new brake lines last Fall. Wheel cylinders should be replaced. Changed oil and filter and gear lube in both front and rear differentials as well as transmission and transfer case gear lube. Tires all hold air. Body is rough but repairable. Rear crossmember will need to be replaced. Frame appears to be solid. $1800 CASH.“

“1953 M38A1 Willys military Jeep, runs great. Lots of fun to drive. Four wheel drive works, low range works. Many new parts, many spare parts. Service manual and soft top with doors included. Original data plates, very little rust – passenger side floor board only. Has the flat head Willys go devil engine, T90 transmission, Dana 18 transfer case, Dana 25 front axle and Dana 44 rear axle. Was converted to 12volt system. Clear title in hand. Had tags and registration for awhile and drove it around town, it draws lots of looks. I don’t seem to have the time to take it out much, and hate to let it just sit in the garage. Would love to see someone continue to enjoy and take care of this rare piece of American history.”

“This truck was converted to it’s present Resto-rod condition using a Chevy Blazer running gear mated to the original Willys frame. It is a great conversion that gets a great deal of attention.
This truck drives fantastic at Interstate speeds.
The renewed interior and carpet is very good with the exception of the racing style bucket seats. The seats were new three years ago, however, the Arizona sun has over baked the fabric. The cushions are in good shape, but the fabric is beyond fixing. New seat covers will be needed.
The paint is in very good condition and looks great up close. Not a 20 footer. It should do well at car shows.”

“Displayed here and for sale is this half or quarter scale Jeep Crosley. It was fabricated by a vocational school in Medina or Wooster area probably in the early 1960’s. It has been at our farm every since and has supplied generations with lots of fun driving it around the farm.
It is powered by a Wisconsin engine which is mated to a Crosley transmission and drive train. It is built on a Crosley frame.
It is very heavy gauge metal and can take a real beating. It is two wheel drive.
It has not been ran for a number of years now, but like every time before it has sat… a bit of carb cleaning and a battery and I am sure it will start and provide yet another family with hours of great fun.
It is a novelty and a one of a kind unique vehicle we feel is worth every penny of the $1500 asking price we’ve put on it… but if you have something that you’d love to trade or have cash burning a hole in your pocket… we’ll talk with reason.”

“This is 1944 Jeep from World War II made by Ford. In the pictures its the one that is green (red one sold long ago) It has the original drivetrain to include a GPW Ford engine, T84 trans and Ford Transfer case. Axles and steering are original. Windshield, bumperettes and many other parts are present. it’s a project that needs restoration. Engine and trans internals have been removed for inspection. Two engine connecting rods were removed for another engine. The block and trans case are usable. Trans and engine would need complete overhaul. Seats are not original to the jeep. Front frame horns will need repair. have aftermarket parts like bumper, fuel tank sump, hat channels etc that will go with it for free. Have an extra tub for parts if you want included for free. This jeep looks awesome in pictures but lots of bondo was used by someone. Lots of small misc parts and canvas for seats will go with this. Have bill of sale only. Will not part out sorry. Engine serial # is 92623, frame 248890, body 134777. Would consider trades for a WW2 1/2 ton chevy or dodge project worth the same or less.”
