Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Eric bought this DJ-3A in July of 2013. He describes the jeep he bought as a salad of jeep parts. He’s spent the last year transforming this rough jeep into a great looking parade and play jeep. Nice save!

Seller of a jeep would like to get it back.
“Approximately three years ago my girlfriends father sold his mid-fifties Jeep CJ to a gentleman from somewhere in the central to the north end of New Hampshire or southern Maine. It was sold in Wolfeboro, NH and towed away to where ever.
The seller was a man named Richard and he has since passed away. His daughter, my girlfriend and soon-to-be fiance’, has many great childhood memories connected to that vehicle and wishes to purchase it back. We are happy to offer a great profit to the seller if we can just locate him and get in contact. The physical and/or running condition of the Jeep is not important in any way – it just needs to be his Jeep.
It is as follows:
– a 1955 Jeep Willys (looks a bit more modern – like a CJ – not the square fenders)
– red faded paint
– in very stock condition
– snowplow mount on the front (or at least it had one….)
– half cab hardtop without doors
*** Looks very similar to the Jeep pictured in the photo attached to this post but the hard top is different (it ends right behind the doors).

The early production1951 M38 Military Jeep that is for sale has the original reconditioned body and drivetrain. The frame-off restoration is documented and NOS parts were used. This Jeep is not comprised of a pile of parts from other Jeeps. The sheet metal is beautiful, no repair panels or bondo/filler. Other details: 24 volt system, winter top, working wipers, scabbard, back seat, cuno filter, original data tags, and deep water fording. I never had the Jeep stenciled therefore it is a clean slate for the next owner. The meticulous restoration was completed 15 years ago therefore the patina is perfect. Clean PA title. “53-64 willy’s 3B high hood, includes frame (needs work), grill, tailgate, windshield frame, hood. All but the grill have been sandblasted.”
Here’s a unique combo.
“Original T90 3 speed, spicer 18, with Warn overdrive unit and Ramsey PTO adapter. This enables you to not only have an overdrive to get a better cruising speed and lower rpm, but also you can hook up your Ramsey PTO attachments (winch, etc.) this is an extremely rare setup. The O/D has it’s shifter, as does the transfer case and transmission. Feel free to call and talk to me about this. I am open to certain trades, but cash is king. I have many other rare Jeep parts. I will also buy parts.”

“I have a pair of (2) Willys Jeep CJ3B’s. I have clear MN titles for both of them including up to date license plates on both of them. One runs and drives nice, has the F head 4 cylinder motor that purrs like a kitten. 3 speed manual transmission shifts nice and both high and low four wheel drive works nice. I installed a brand new brake master cylinder and new brake lines last Fall. Wheel cylinders should be replaced. Changed oil and filter and gear lube in both front and rear differentials as well as transmission and transfer case gear lube. Tires all hold air. Body is rough but repairable. Rear crossmember will need to be replaced. Frame appears to be solid. Other jeep has the Buick Dauntless V6 motor that does fire on spray gas but I have not had time to get it running. This motor has Offenhauser intake manifold with 4 barrel carb and exhaust headers. Frame is really nice. Body has had some patch work done at one time but is in much better shape then body on first jeep. I am asking $3200 for a package deal. I prefer to sell them as a pair and I feel the buyer would be happy to get them as a pair to build one nice Jeep. Tires are in good shape on number 2 Jeep.”

“1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep. Hasn’t run for 10+ years, but two-wheel/four-wheel operated fine. Original engine that burns oil. Body and frame fairly solid. Have title. Has nos windshield, new shocks, new tie rod ends. Converted with alternator to 12volt. Have uninstalled 12 volt gas gauge; all other gauges work. Roll bar not bolted in. Some spare parts like a steering gearbox and extra transmission. Buyer will need to tow (towbar provided) or trailer. Cash or national bank money order only. $2,050. As is, where is – no guarantees or refunds.”
