Barfrosttreffet in Norway October of 2011
These pictures could be straight out of a scenic shot from the Pacific Northwest, but instead were taken at the annual October Barfrosttreffet in Norway. Even is part of a club called the Flatfender Fellows and shared these wonderful pictures. This area shown below is about an hour north of Oslo.
Photo from 1959 on the island of Tinian
UPDATE: From both emails I received and comments below, the consensus seems to be that the framework was built for pushing branches away, also called limb risers. As Brett suggested, I googled ‘tree limb risers’ and found something similar at a hummer site.
Gary’s father shot this photo around 1959 on the island of Tinian, which is part of the Northern Mariana Islands. He was wondering if anyone knows how the front rack was used?

It turns over, but doesn’t start. It has three dash plates.

1950 Jeepster East Palatka, Fl eBay
Looks very nice. Jeespterjim is selling this one.
“This is a 1950 Jeepster that runs and drives great. It was in the same family for 40 years. It’s a nice daily driver at an affordable price. The engine has good compression (105 on all cylinders) and was probably rebuilt not long ago. The top and interior are nice and the chrome is very nice. It has an older paint job, that is not perfect. It has the same typical rust issues that most Jeepsters have, but would not be a difficult restoration. You could drive it and fix it up as you go, or just enjoy it the way it is.
This Jeepster is brought to you buy jeepsterjim.com. We are a full service, Jeepster Only, complete restoration facility. (05/08/2012) I saw early pictures of this project. Bryan’s done a good job bringing it back to life.
“What you are looking at is an original restored 1945 WWII Ford GPW Jeep. These have become quite rare. Nearly all parts are “F marked” from the factory all the way down to almost every bolt! This Jeep is nearly complete from top to bottom and is mainly all original. All that you see on the Jeep goes with the Jeep. The body is in very good condition. 1961 FC-170 Ohio **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7000
Mark has this over at jeeptruck.com.
“I am selling my 1961 Jeep FC170.
Engine: L226 Flat Head 6 cylinder, re-gasket and bearings in 2006
Trans: T98A 4-speed, new Kevlar clutch in 2006
Dana 18 T-case rebuilt in 2006
Dana 44 closed knuckle front diff 4:88 ratio
Dana 53 Rear diff 4:88 ratio
Vacuum assist brakes
Wood stake bed with removable sides and ends
Awesome Marine grade chrome and stainless exhaust stacks that are for real and working
In 2005 -2006 this Jeep went through an engine rebuild, new upgrade wiring, t-case rebuild, front differential knuckle seals, bearings, Rancho shocks. I have not done any restoration to the body, it is the same as I acquired it.
A little history of this truck: previous owner purchased it at an FBI auction in Florida. It had 7″ of lift on it. They brought it back to Toledo, Ohio where it sat behind a building getting rocks thrown at it, where we bought it. I got it running within 3 days with carb rebuild but only on 5 cylinders. Took out the scary lift kit and engine the next winter and went through it along with the transfer case and clutch. The wiring was mouse eaten in places so a total rewire was in order. Then came brake lines, M/Cylinder, fuel lines (3/8″ stainless), front knuckle seals and wheel bearing pack. Amsoil 80w90 in all trans, t-case, front and rear diffs.
It’s not all in original form or function, some improvements have been made to the electrical and mechanicals. but it is a driver and head turner whenever I blow the dust off it here in Toledo. I’ve had it to the GM Powertrain Park N Shine show many times and have been blessed to meet a few of the people that worked at Jeep that remember working the assembly line building them, just to see the expression on their faces to see one again. I always let them or the young ones sit in it.
