Often mistaken for a ‘Willys’ (there goes the trademark …), this poor Ford M151 captured by Charles Jolliffe looks pretty beat up. Though image description notes, “This old Jeep is buried deep in the woods of Florida. I guess someone forgot where they parked. Limited Edition Series One- signed and numbered by artist“; I believe this M151 is actually hiding from it’s owner. Seriously, can you blame it?

1950 Jeepster Salt Lake City, Ut eBay
UPDATE: Back on eBay
(04/22/2010) Here’s a solid look Jeepster that hasn’t been restored yet.
“THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE 1950 WILLYS JEEPSTER FRESH OUT OF THE BARN……..I BOUGHT THIS JEEP ABOUT 35 YEARS AGO FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, WHICH MAKES ME THE SECOND OWNER…….THIS JEEPSTER WAS ORIGINALLY BOUGHT NEW IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, AND DRIVEN TO UTAH IN THE 1960’S…….I PURCHASED IT AND HAVE HAD IT IN STORAGE EVER SINCE, WAITING FOR ME TO GET THE TIME TO RESTORE IT…….IT HAS ALWAYS RUN GREAT…..IT IS MECHANICALLY ALL ORIGINAL, WITH 4 CYLINDER OVER HEAD VALVE (F-HEAD) HURRICANE ENGINE, THREE SPEED TRANSMISSION, AND OVER DRIVE……THE JEEP WILL NEED A NEW BATTERY, FRESH FUEL, AND PROBABLY A TUNE UP, SINCE IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. WE ALSO REMOVED THE OLD GLAS BECAUSE IT WAS YELLOWING AND WE WANTED TO PUT NEW GLASS IN…..WE WEREN’T ABLE TO FINISH THAT PROJECT, SO IT WILL NEED SOME NEW GLASS….IT’S ALL FLAT GLASS, SO WON’T BE TOO EXPENSIVE. THE BODY ON THIS JEEP IS JUST ABOUT PERFECT, VERY SOLID, WITH NO RUST THROUGH, OTHER THAN A HOLE IN THE DIVER’S SIDE FLOOR BOARD, WHICH HAS BEEN PATCHED AT ONE TIME LONG AGO, AND WILL NEED TO BE PATCHED AGAIN. THIS CAR IS AN EXCELLENT CANDIDATE FOR RESTORATION, SINCE IT IS VERY STRAIGHT AND MECHANICALLY ALL ORIGINAL. CLEAR TITLE……”
A Beautiful Day for a Sunday Drive
After fixing the sprinklers and getting the lawn ready for summer, I decided it was too nice of a day to waste any more it, so I pulled out my trusty Idaho map and searched for a local drive I hadn’t tried yet.
Sure enough, there was a dirt road about 15 minutes north of me that meandered upwards 12 miles into the mountains until it reached Spring Valley Summit (4500′) on Highway 55 between the Treasure Valley and Horseshoe Bend.
It was perfect, as I live just off Hwy 55, so I could roar down the highway following my exploration into the ‘unknown’ and test out my new timing specs (I just readjusted the distributor to 13 degrees). With new jets and the timing dialed correctly, it seems to be running very well.
Along the way, I snapped a couple pics for your viewing pleasure. In this first pic, I’m near the beginning of the drive. That’s Squaw Butte in the background, which I’ve only climbed halfway so far (prior to having the jeep).
There were a number of mines along the drive. Why someone parked a car onto of the entrance is beyond me … Maybe it’s called the Rusty Auto Mine?

1958 FC-170 Fire Engine Dinuba, Ca eBay
UPDATE: Steve reports that this sold for $5600 with only two bids.
Jean-Sebastien spotted this unusual find.
“This is a Jeep FC 170 four wheel drive flat bed truck that has been made into a fire engine. This vehicle was originally used by the US forest service around Yosemite and later sold to a church camp just outside of the park. The vehicle was garaged and used by the church camp for insurance purposes. The vehicle is in extreemly good original condition. All equipment is stock except the windshield wiper motor which was changed to an electric model instead of the vacuum type. The vehcile runs strong and starts up promptly everytime. It has the 6 cylinder motor with a 3 speed manual transmission. Warren “free wheeling” hub caps to secure four wheel drive. The interior is in very good condition, as you can see by the pictures. The odometer shows 30,000 miles, but the speedometer cable broke so I can’t say what the actual mileage is. I would say not more than about 50,000 original miles. The fire apparatus has a 250 gallon tank with a 5 hp gas motor that both starts manually or with an electric push button starter. Pump works great and all seals seam to not leak. Vehicle comes with 200 feet of fire hose ( cotton single jacket), 150 of 1 1/2 and 50 ft of 1 inch. Two variable plastic nozzles with 1 1/2 fittings. There are two yellow helmets and a first aid kit. All gauges work (except the speedometer) and two new gauges were added for oil preasure and temperature. Body shows some signs on repair around the passenger door handle, but otherwise the vehicle is in good overall condition for the body. Vehicle runs fine and all mechanical parts work good. Brakes are in good condition as are tires, clutch and transmission. There is no slippage when shifting. This is a fairly rare vehicle and would be well suited for a ranch (for insurance purposes) or another church. Please e-mail any questions.”

The jeep tub has rust and the roof is in rough shape also, it all can be put back together. The jeep run 3 yrs ago and I had it firing & running with gas down the carb but the starter stopped working. This is a rare piece and wouldnt take much to get it working again.
