Barney from Barney’s Jeep Parts sent November 1961 edition of the Jeep News our direction. The FJ-3A makes a big splash with a variety of images on page 4. Several Jeep Clubs, including California’s Auburn Jeep Club, Denver’s Mile-High Jeep Club, and Washington’s Trailer Breakers Jeep Club get mentioned. One article highlight’s Buddy’s win of a Surrey and Sailboat from the Del Monte Contest and includes an image.
There’s also a mention of photos and writeup about the Jeep Jamboree in the December 1961 issue of Argosy Magazine, but I cannot seem to find the issue on eBay.
These two glass coasters popped up on eBay last week for a reasonable price. Strangely, the image of the jeep is reversed. The gas inlet and steering wheel appear to be on the passenger side in the image.
That soldier looks awfully clean for being in the process of digging out a jeep. Even the lighting looks staged to me.

“1944 Press Photo Sgt. John Baker digs a Jeep out of the Marianas Island mud. This is an original press photo. A 7th AAF base in the Marianas — Staff Sgt. John W. Baker, 920 York Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, transportation sergeant for a 7th AAF fighter group in the Marianas, slugs it out with General Mud, which occasionally masters even the powerful jeep. A modern building program is rapidly doing away with such troubles as these as Americans convert the Marianas into giant air bases. Baker, a veteran of the Saipan operation, formerly worked as a machine operator for the G & G Manufacturing Company, now the Crosley Corp. in Cincinnati. He holds the Soldier’s Medal for heroism in rescuing trapped crew members from a crashed and burning bomber in the Hawaiian Islands last December.Photo measures 8.25 x 10inches. Photo is dated 12-08-1944.”

“Up for sale is a very nice Veep : A Willys flat fender Jeep body kit on a 1968 VW tub.
There have been many variations of Veep bodies produced over the years, this one is one of the more sought after versions, as it is metal rather than fiberglass. Rebuilt throughout and runs and drives extremely well. Body is straight, paint is not perfect and has it’s share of minor blemishes, but is still a presentable toy.

Not a jeep, but a unique vehicle for sure. The “house” is framed in 2x4s. That’s got to be heavy.

“Looking to build a fish house, a she shed, or a tiny house? Here’s a start! Built on a toyota dolphin chassis, 5 speed manual transmission with the 22R engine. Needs to be finished out, and the engine needs fuel lines at least probably a battery or two also. Or it could be removed from the pickup and turned into a she-shed. There are many possibilities! The camper portion measures about 7 feet x 12 feet on the floor with a 4 foot cab over section. It has full 8 foot walls inside 2×4 construction vaulted ceiling. Outside measures about 12 foot 6 inches tall and almost 16 feet long by almost 8 feet wide.”

Nick is selling this CJ5 with a plow, half top, and working trencher.
“I take cash or PayPal. Firm on price. First with payment takes it. Located in Shipshewana, IN. 1959 Willys Jeep CJ5 with Auburn Jeep-A-Trench. AgriJeeps were a standard CJ with aftermarket farm equipment, making a dual-purpose vehicle.
This is one of very few operational trencher Jeeps left. I can send you a video of it trenching my backyard. This particular trencher is the latest, greatest version available for the Jeep. It sits inside the bed, rather than hanging off the back. It removes quite a bit of stress from the chassis and body. Hydraulic boom raise/lower and gear-driven chain. Has a new heavy duty clutch kit, fuel tank, fuel pump, lines. Tires all hold air. Runs and drives nice.

“Willys Jeep Cj3a with a dj3a tub I think. Runs and drives have videos, just ask. Starts right up, transfer case/ 4 wheel drive work. This Jeep takes up very little space and would be a great family/ individual project for this winter. Easy to work on and parts are not to expensive.”
