I think that’s a defroster setup across the windshield?

“My father is selling his 1948 Jeep Willy’s CJ2A. Needs some work but has a rebuilt motor that runs. Needs brake work, possibly suspension, and has been stored in a garage for many years. Not sure on mileage.”

“1964 Willy Jeep FC150 Fc-150 forward control. Starts on starting fluid. Moves, shifts, been sitting since 2016. Clean Indiana title in my name. Good vin plate. At the time it was the only fc-150 titled as such in Indiana. Tires hold air for a few hours. Not drivable but could be pretty easily. F134 engine. I believe it to be a 4 speed trans. Reverse is up and to the right. Aftermarket bed. Rusty sheet metal. Solid frame. 4×4 with manual hubs. Western cable plow not currently operational. 6 foot blade. Project. Broken windshield and drivers window is cracked. Roof has rust above gutters. It’s cool because it still exists. I believe I am the 3rd owner. Originally owned by a concrete company in a nearby town. Drum brakes. Manual steering, mechanical clutch. Bring a trailer. Only trade may consider is a Chevy 2500 plow truck or better”
Listed as a 1948, the body appears to be a VEC, probably ’46. It has an early grille, too.

“Body is roached but frame is in great shape. Engine has a ton of new parts and runs great. All fluids have been changed recently. It has new shocks all the way around. It drives and shifts through all the gears. Brake master cylinder is bad so no brakes but it comes with a new one. I have the title in hand. It also comes with a bunch of extra parts. Located in Winchester, Indiana asking $4,000 FIRM trades possible.”
Seth, from the Red Eye Cafe Garage interviewed our friend Russ about his modified wagon.
I ran across this August 1969 Cars & Parts magazine on ebay with the below history about jeep history. In it, the author references the use of “GP” or “General Purpose”, claiming that was how the military referred to the jeep. I still have yet to document any evidence that during WWII jeeps were labeled or referred to as “GP” or “General Purpose”. So, I wish the article’s author would have included a reference or example (and welcome any examples).
As I have argued before, the switch from Ford calling its prototype a Pygmy to the company calling it a GP happened without explanation, other than this excuse: G=government and P=80″ wheelbase. But, if that’s the case, why wasn’t the first one called a GP? And, where is the GL, GO, GQ, GR, GT, GV, VW models built by Ford? And what are the chances Ford’s initialism, when sounded out as an acronym, *just happened* to sound like the word “jeep”, a term that was making the rounds about the time the Pygmy was dropped off at Holabird (according to later court testimony).
Anyway, here’s the article:
This four-page Go-For-Digger brochure is something I’ve not yet posted. It has a Catalog Number 8162, which might mean the brochure was released August 1, 1962.
I have called the seller of this CJ-2A a friend for over a decade. His 1948 CJ-2A Lefty includes numerous extras. Also included is a unique collection of literature, some of which I’ve never seen elsewhere. The seller was instrumental in provided a great deal of unique, early civilian documents.
This collection is in Europe, so for a European collector it is likely a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get all this at cost far below what it would take to ship (if you could find the equipment) from the US.
If you are interested, either leave a comment at the bottom or email me at d@deilers.com.

Bill shared this restored wagon being auctioned on Hemmings.
https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1964-kaiser-jeep-other-westerville-oh-641003
“Described as having once been owned by an heiress to the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical fortune, the Jeep has a replacement speedometer and odometer that the seller says reads 765 miles, while the actual total mileage is 62,503. This two-wheel-drive Jeep wagon is reported to have a “completely refurbished” interior with Dynamat sound deadener, thick carpeting, and new interior panels. According to the seller, the Jeep has “no visible rust.””
Update: **SOLD** Was $7500. …. Navy, not Air Force like I mistakenly put down. I saw the plane on the back and didn’t look closer.
This appears to be an Navy-themed CJ-3A.
“Frame-off rebuild by a shop instructor, lovingly. F-head, 134 CID, 4 cylinder “Hurricane.” Runs great with a nice warm-up. Seats, Lock-out hubs. No top. More pictures on request. 7500 OBO”
Appears solid.

“This 1963 Willys Jeep FC-150 is a cab-over pickup that is red with gray upholstery. It is powered by a 226ci Buick Odd Fire V-6, mated with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual range transfer case. It was acquired by the seller in 2020 and is believed to have spent much of its life in Illinois and Pennsylvania. The FC was fully rebuilt by the previous owner, to include engine replacement, full wire harness and interior replaced. FC runs but needs a loving home and someone with a deep appreciation of the history of this vehicle and preferably is mechanically inclined. Unfortunately, I have run out time and need to sell it in preparation for a job relocation.”
Update: Sold. Was $7000.
Extras on this jeep include a Warn OD, Warn/Bellevierw winch, Koenig body extension and Willys (branded?) spotlight.
“$7,000 O.B.O. 1960 Jeep CJ3B. VERY solid and clean for the year. Hat channels are corroded but tub is solid. Frame is solid as can be. Period correct: WARN OVERDRIVE!!!, WARN BELLEVIEW WINCH, WILLYS SPOTLIGHT, KOENIG BODY EXTENSION. Runs and drives great. Cranks up every time. Can drive anywhere. 4X4 works great. Gets more attention than anything else on the road. Good condition Firestone 6.0X16 tires. CLEAR TITLE. Everything works except speed indicator(odometer does work) fuel and temp gauge and rear running lights(brake lights work).
Lots of new parts: Distributor, Carburetor, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, Spare Tire, Muffler, Starter Solenoid, Bikini Top, FULL COMPLETE TOP BOW KIT($700), BRAND NEW 12V WIPER KIT(not installed), Air Tube, Oil Filter. ALL FLUIDS CHANGED, ALL DRIVE FLUIDS CHANGED WITH CORRECT GREEN METAL SAFE GEAR OIL($400 job).
The tub sides have been “overlapped” from the doors back, but the original tub is good. I believe this was done for strengthening as tub is solid”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(07/23/2023) Somebody put a lot of work and money into this rebuild.I wonder if it includes the trailer?

Jeff shared this jeep in need of restoration. It includes a variety of parts, along with a second running engine.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/332364369204836
“Needs a restoration but a great base for a Willy’s project. Less than 20,000 miles. Engine in Jeep needs a rebuild but sale comes with a running replacement engine. 24v electrical system. No rust on frame. Body needs minor repair in certain spots. Many new parts included with the sale”
Bill shared this very rare Dutch Nekaf for sale on eBay. I’ve only documented about six of these in the US.
View all the information on eBay
“Clear Pennsylvania title. Has been stored in a barn: perfect for restoration. Corrosion exists at the side panels , below the spare tire, some at rear floor behind the tank. An experienced restorer inspected the vehicle and stated the body is nice and solid and all existing corrosion is basic and easily reparable.
Everywhere else: the hood, (an original shovel is mounted beneath), fenders, windshield, grill, interior front floor, rear deck, wheel wells and dash (some corrosion lower left) are in good condition.
This is a Dutch Army NEKAF with that nation’s” Koninklijke Landmacht” modifications intact: The Dutch Army radiator, auxiliary power outlets inside and out, the ‘guarded’ side mounted marker lights, blackout lights and speedo in Kilometers. This M38A1 uses a waterproof 24 volt system. That has not been modified. Two new 12 volt in-series batteries, their original cables, “T” ignition post, floor-push pedal ignition, voltage regulator, starter, generator, internally housed points, cond, cap, wires and sealed plugs are all in working order: some new.
The vehicle starts, runs and drives. The brakes, clutch, transfer case, HI/low trans, linkage cables, emergency brake, steering gear, suspension (needs shocks), and low- mile military tires are all are in good working order. Throttle, choke, crankcase vent handles and cables operate as designed. An aftermarket fuel pump, f/p regulator and hoses were added however the original fuel pump, hard lines, fittings, mounts and cables were left in their original positions: disarmed. A new fuel tank was purchased but not hooked up.
MOTOR: This 134 cu in Hurricane 4 cylinder engine compression tested at 70,65,70,70. Not Good. These should be around 130. The plugs are black (but not wet), it runs too rich and throttles poorly. I have run it through all three forward gears in both high and low and reverse as well. (The Borg Warner T-90 operates well). The diagnostic on the motor halted this individual’s restoration project. An engine tear-down and rebuild is required: something not covered by my “MOS”, but perfect for a genuine military vehicle restorer.
I have videos of this vehicle running. …….Also included on this NEKAF is an Army M-222 signal generator, whip antenna, antenna mount, and an unrelated handset. The original working canvas top (good. Dirty but no rips or wear spots. All snaps and fasteners function. The window is in excellent condition), folding frame, support bars with all straps intact installs perfectly. A jerry can, mount, rear mounted spare are included. Tires are period military and like new. The seats front and rear are original. Spares include new fuel lines for the original fuel system and new red primered tank, an additional 24 volt generator, fording hose, 1 gallon of correct paint, 2 new drive belts, new under-fuel tank felts, grease tubes, wheel cylinders, extra side mirror and arm, wheel chocks, hydraulic jack etc.”
Bill shared this modified truck. There is no location with this ad.
https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1952-willys-pickup-cleveland-tn-417415
“1952 Willy’s pickup truck.
Rebuilt V8 AMC 304 with less than 100 miles.
100% garage kept since restoration completed in 2013.
Most of the interior is done except for the head liner.
It starts and runs a great. No leaks of any kind.”
