Missing steps, a tailgate, and a few other things.

“1948 Jeep Willys CJ2A, original motor L4-134 “Go-Devil” starts and runs like a top. Oil bath air cleaner, also has the alternator conversion. Has PTO & Belt drive included. Have hard top and doors which will be included in sale as well. Currently have it on ‘Super Swamper’ tires but also have a second set of wheels to be included in sale also. There is a new master cylinder and new rear brake lines, could use some more brake work though. Wonderful piece of American history, this vehicle was driven all summer and I have the title in hand which is clean, this would be great Willys to restore or just drive around as is!
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500.
Runs and drives.
“I have a 1948 Willys cj2a “lefty” up for sale. Very rare. Only a hand full were made with the spare tire on the left side of the jeep. Has the L head 4cyl, runs good, drives good, all of the brakes are brand new, lines and all, front brakes have been converted to cj7 disc brakes.
Brand new set of super swamper tsl’s.
The floor pans were replaced about 10 years ago so there is no rust in the floorboards. But for some reason when they put the new floors in the did not cut the old floors out, so it you look under the jeep you can the old metal.
Has a 3000lb winch, has a heater, and also has a bestop soft top and doors that are about 3 years old. So she’s good to drive in the winter. The heater will burn you completly out if you let it.
Needs minor little things. It could use a new tie rod to the pitman arm,( there’s some slack in the steering)
Not a very good paint job on it.
And it smokes out of the tail pipe alittle bit until it warms up. Other than. It is an absolute BA piece of history with lots of life left, and it extremely fun to drive. Would make an awesome restoration, but heck it’s still awesome if you like the rugged history look.”
The seller said that this has coil springs between the leaf springs and frame. There is some bondo and rust. The tub is resting on some lumber that’s wedged between the frame and tub. It has sat since the 1980s. The engine might be a GPW/MB. It runs and shifts ok, but needs new brakes, master and tires at the very least.
“Original Jeep Willys CJ2A with all original parts. 6 volt system, all glass is good. Motor was replaced in 1974 and was military surplus remanufactured engine. Less then 5000 miles on the engine. Last plated in 1987. Been garage stored with plans to restore until just last week. Great candidate for restoration. Drove from storage to current location. Starts right up. Needs brakes, tires, gas tank repaired and a battery. Will need to be trailered to new home. ”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1000.
Has a dual PTO.
“1947 Willys CJ2A Jeep with front winch and rear PTO and twin stick transfer case. Has been sitting 20 years + and will need everything gone through but was “running” when parked. Has a fair amount of rust as well. Has a spark plug twisted off from when I was a dumb kid going to get it running after sitting for years.
We have title. Dad thinks it is a 47 Jeep body on 53 running gear. ???
Twin stick transfer case.
Have a skid steer to help load. May do some trading for farm stuff, tools, or bangs. Looking for a good little MIG welder (Hobart 140 or similar), certain woodworking tools, and a generator.”

“41,000 miles since complete rebuild, lock out hubs, military mud tires new with spare, 6 forward, 2 reverse, advance adapter 2 speed overdrive, 3 speed transmission, parade ready with flags and brackets included.”
Listed as a ’46, I think it could be a Lefty ’48. The grille is post ’46 and the driver’s side is set up for a spare tire holder.
“1946 CJ-2A, runs good, body good, no rust through, brakes poor. Would make a great restoration project or use as is.”

“I do not currently have a title ,but my family and I are in the process of acquiring said title. It was my Grand Fathers, He bought it in the 50’s. It was willed to me 17 yrs ago. The engine is seized and has been for 42 years. It is 100% complete and mostly original or 60 year old after market. The window frame has broken, but there is more than enough good old American steel to weld to. If the ad is still up, I still have it. You can see it in Dayton, Nevada. I will not reply to any e-mail asking what I want for it. It’s worth what someone is willing to pay. I am a serious seller and will consider any and all reasonable offers.”
