Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Jeep Willy’s rat rod, Custom fabricated Jeep willys and Toyota/Nissan truck bed together with chevy 350 engine, 4bl carb, auto trans and 8 lug truck axles. 2wd. I purchased off ebay several years ago and had shipped to GA and it ran and lot drove then. (NOT STREET LEGAL, no turn signals/brake lights). frame is orginal jeep with extensions welded on to create longer wheelbase. It appears to be chevy suspension.
It has sat for over 3 years in my shop, so it will need to be towed and gas tank probably flushed out. I do not have to sell and will not accept any offers, just trying to help finance my home remodel/addition if possible if not I will keep this Jeep in the shop until I have time to finish.”

It’s funky, but appears in good shape.
“Running gear is from a vintage CJ2A. Body custom built. Equipped with stock 4 cyl engine, 3 spd trans, hi-lo range and 4 wheel drive. Mechanically strong, good tires. Good title and vintage plates. Buzz found this crazy looking CJ-2A.
“1946 Willys jeep with an old school repower. Has a 1950’s flathead ford engine, this jeep ran three years ago but needed a pull to get started. One head was removed to inspect the cylinders. It looks like this motor may have the original bore but is ready for a rebuild. The distributer was removed and is missing. I will throw one in if I can find one in the shed. The body behind the firewall is made of plywood and fiberglass, it was nicely made but alot of the wood should be replaced if you choose to keep it as is. Original jeep dash and front sheet metal is in good condition. The frame is mostly solid but does have some issues at the front of the rear leaf springs and it has been notched for the steering gear to clear the engine. The engine is coupled to the jeep transmission with a rare adapter. Will be sold with a clear 1956 Willys title. The buyer will have 30 days to pick it up, if you send a trailer I can help load.”
A little different.
“This was a frame up build project my son and I did 5 yrs ago. The frame was repaired and strengthen like the military version. Engine, tranny, transfer case, and axles all rebuilt. New leaf springs and shocks. All original running gear. Body made from 11gauge steel. Underbody Herculined protected. 12 Volt system. Electronic ignition system. Starts right up and is a fun drive. go anywhere!! this thing is great for the back words or hunting the deep woods or just plowing the driveway. Bob’s jeep had about this much jeep left. Some used leftover parts and created something neat. I think that has some potential.
“1946 Jeep, Willy’s Overland, CJ2A. Serial No. 68995. Starts and runs good. Need Bonded Title. The brakes need wheel cylinders replaced. Original L-head Engine. Had a rod bearing replaced-runs smooth. New 6-volt battery. Good fuel tank. Transmission and transfer case shifts smoothly. 4 tires – just okay. The bench seat, is the back seat out of a suburban. Great for Ranch or just fun running around. This Jeep is BEAUTIFUL, but only in the eyes of the beholder!”

“First off this is a project. It is not in drivable condition.
Not 100% sure I want to sell but I have to many projects and not enough time.
1947 Willys CJ2A truck project. CLEAR Title in my name.
This is sitting on a 1960 CJ5 frame that has been stretched 2 feet in the middle. ( I bought it that way )
Motor is a ’60’s “F” head 4 cylinder. I had it running 2 years ago. ( have video’s)
Trans is a 3 speed (T-90) Transfer case is a dana 18. has a front driveshaft, NO rear driveshaft.
Axles are stock 1947 axles dana 41 rear and 25 front.
Has an old skyjacker lift springs on it ( maybe 3 inch lift) ( front spring not on it but go with it.) longer shackles.
Tub is the matching one to the title that was cut in back to form a truck cab.
sheet metal work was started but in no way is it perfect.
The seller’s reaching on this price given the description.

Besides missing the rear of the jeep, it doesn’t have ww2 axles. So, I would suggest looking this over carefully.

(09/02/2012) They broke the mold after creating this one. It includes a capstan winch.

Also comes with an aluminum bolt on roof with two aluminum doors and an A-frame rig that bolts to the front bumper for pulling stumps and whatever. The auction for this has expired, however this is still an interesting vehicle that made the cover of the 1976 Four Wheeler Magazine. Looks like it is part jeep and part truck.

There are thousands of Willys and Jeep items over at eBay, but I’ve never had a chance to create the scripts necessary to sort and list them. However, support from readers allowed me to create multiple ebay-related sections that I think you’ll enjoy looking at as much as I have. You can get to them from the “eBay Listings” image at the top of the right column.
Now, even if I don’t do updates, you can still review hundreds of updated listings from ebay without having to go through ebay searches.

On Saturday Buz stopped by the Good Guys Hot Rod show at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina. He saw some cool vehicles and took some pictures of them for us. Thanks Buz!
Buz reports that the makers of these bags are waiting for approval from Jeep to produce this tool bag. He says everyone there wanted to buy this one prototype.

“1950 Willy’s Jeepster Rat Rod setting on a 2001 S10 chassis. Chevy 350 cid, th350 transmission, 7.5″/7.625″ GM rear end with 4.56 gears. Suspension is set up for air bags. Range Rover air bags in the front. Rear ones were leaking so I pulled them and installed shocks and springs. Compressor and all hardware I have goes with it. Runs great! Eye catcher where ever it goes!”
