There were some CJ-2As in the Navy as I understand it. However, I’d want to see some kind of plate or ID that verifies this.

“Fully restored 1947 Willys Jeep. This is a CJ2A Military Jeep (Navy surplus) with the original rebuilt 4 cylinder engine. It has been recently restored but has been stored in a garage for at least 30 years and has never had a rust problem.”

Not much to list here
The paint is relatively new (last 5 months) but it does have a few surface scratches
The transmission does pop out of second every so often when you let off the gas suddenly
The trans has a small leak (about a dime size puddle after driving)
I do have a rebuilt transmission that comes with the jeep, just haven’t had time to put it in, and never had any problems with it.

Army 1960 CJ-3B Fort Meade, MD **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500

(01/22/2011) A reader named Luke asked me to post his CJ-3B that was originally purchased by the Army.  I double checked to make sure this wasn’t a M-606 and the seller assured me that it was a CJ-3B and notes that “The data tag is marked SN 62151, which matches the last 5 digits of the VIN. All data tags are included in the sale.”  You can contact the seller through the craigslist ad or contact me and I’ll provide his contact info.

“For your consideration is a 1960 CJ3B, which was purchased under contract from Willys by the Army. It has the data tag, with serial number matching the underhood data tag to confirm this. Early in the life of the jeep, it was modified with two fuel tanks, either by the factory, or by the Army.

The engine, transmission, transfer case, and differentials are all in excellent operational condition. There is no smoke produced by the engine when running, and little to no noise when driving.

The brakes are rebuild and work well, the paint was applied by me. There is some rust, but it’s very typical of older jeeps, and does not harm the jeep. The jeep is currently registered as a Maryland Historic Vehicle.”

The Jeep has undergone a full spring over conversion. All Axles are Chrome alloy. The motor is a 327 375 HP model out of a 1967 Corvette. Carburetor is a truck avenger. The gas tank is a CJ type moved to the rear of the jeep. The Jeep has a full family cage with intergrated rock rails, including two Beard adult suspension seats and one preteen seat in center rear all seats have 4 point quick release harnesses. Battery shut off switch passenger side floorboard, battery is in rear behind seat, has heater, and warn 8000 pound winch. All interior of the tub has been rolled with Herculiner.
