1967 Snow Trac Duck Creek Village, UT **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
“1967 Snow Trac ST-4 #000883 for sale 1968 Snow-Trac, AB Westerasmskiner of Sweden built 2,220 Snow Trac machines between the years 1957 and 1980. – These machines were primarily sold in Northern European countries to be used on snow-covered terrain. – Ski resorts also employed these machines to groom trails. While not built to be a military vehicle, some European Armies drafted Snow Tracs into service. – This particular Snow Trac was purchased in 1997 from a Snowcat dealer in Idaho and was shipped to Duck Creek Utah where it is located today. The machine is pretty much completly stock other than I installed a fuel guage and had the exhaust extended to the rear and up the back of the machine. The stock exit piont for the exhaust was about mid way along the right side but in deep snow created a situtation, in some cases, where exhaust fumes got in the cab. This relocation of the exit point ellimanates this possibility. The Snow Trac enjoyed momentary Hollywood fame in the 1980 movie, The Shining, starring Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall. You might remember Ms. Duvall’s daring escape in the Snow Trac at the conclusion of the movie. The Snow Trac Stats: Powered by an air cooled 4-cylinder Volkswagen engine and 4-speed transmission, Variator Steering arrangement – Top speed: close to 20 miles-per-hour, Weight: 3,307 lbs, Frame: welded steel Body: aluminum fenders and side storage, Seating for 6 adults plus driver, Low center of gravity for ease of control on steep slopes. Hours: 657 (actual hours unknown).”
1952 M-38A1 Lola, KS eBay
This looks like a solid M-38A1. It has some odd gauge behavior according to the seller.
“As I can tell, this is as close as possible to a 100% restoration of a military Jeep. I bought it about 6 years ago in this condition. The odometer had about 13,000 miles on it, but the speedometer cable was broke. I have since installed a new cable, and the odometer now shows 16,100 miles. This is a fun Jeep to drive and a head turner. I drive it in Veteran Day’s parades, and drive it to car shows within a 60 miles radius from where I live in Southeast Kansas.
It drives nicely for its age. I have recently installed a carburetor kit and points, condensor, and rotor. I have also installed new spark plugs and spark plug wires about two years ago. The oil pressure consisently shows over 40 PSI. Other instrument guages are erratic by working sometimes and not the other, even after I replaced the spider wire harness. Do not have the expert knowlrdge to troubleshoot this aspect.
The 24V generator works even though the guage does not show charge, and the water guage works that I had never had this Jeep over heat. The manual windshield wipers work, but again I could not troubleshoot the vacuum operation. I am explaining everything about this Jeep that cannot be seen in the accompanying pictures. The Jeep still has the 24V sealed system and all lights work properly icluding the instrument panel and blackout marker lights. Mechanically everything works properly and it starts right away even in cold weather.
I love to drive this Jeep whenever weather permits. It has always been garaged since I owned it. The body is very straight and solid and the person who restored it did so with the correct paint and markings. No visible rust seen anywhere except under the passenger seat whre some minor rust shows on a channel, but the rust contained and painted over. I cannot arrange for shipping since I live in a small community which is not exposed to adequate services. I am willing to deliver the Jeep on my trailer within 100 miles radius of Iola, Kansas.”
1947 CJ-2A McCloud, CA eBay
UPDATE: Back on eBay
(11/25/2012) The seller provides a variety of details on the rebuild.
“This Jeep has been carefully rebuilt from the ground up over 3 years by my father, a retired certified ASEA mechanic. Starting from a sandblasted frame, new-off-shelf (N.O.S) parts were used whenever possible. Every piece has been carefully rebuilt and reassembled – you won’t find a cleaner, or more authentic rebuild of a 1947 Willy’s. Lots of fun to take off-road, or cruise around town with the windshield down. See below for details on each component.”
1953 CJ-3A Ona, WV eBay
It’s a bit rough, but quite stock. I can’t tell how deep the rust is.
” OK, here it is again: Here is a 1953 Willys Jeep. The Jeep has been in my family for the last 60 or so years, and has been parked in our barn for probably the last 40. I had the Jeep running about 16 years ago and was able to drive it around. I kept it running for about a year, then lost interest in it and parked it back in the barn. When I did have it running, it ran pretty well and did not smoke. All of the gears worked as they should and the 4 wheel drive worked amazing. I never did get the brakes working. Unfortunately now the motor is locked up. I did try to free the motor up by pouring kerosine in the cylinders and trying to turn the motor over, but it did not work. When I got it running 16 years ago, the motor was locked up then and I had to take the head off and let it soak with oil. I cannot guarantee that it will work again, but that’s how I got it free. It has some rust and the passenger floorboard will probably need replaced and a couple of holes below the doors, but most of the body is solid. The tires do hold air for at least a couple of weeks, but they all have very slow leaks and are dry rotted. Anyone is welcome to come and inspect the jeep before bidding.”
1952 M-38 Terry, MS **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
“What you are looking at is an original 1952 Willys M38 (MC) military Jeep. This Jeep was used during the Korean war era. It was a Barn Find! I found this Jeep in a country barn back in the woods of Florence, MS. I am the second owner of this Jeep. The Jeep has been motor-pool restored and is in near perfect condition. It is all original with original 24 volt system. Correct lighting including blackout. I installed a left hand tail light on the right side to make it easier for other drivers to see for safer driving. Drives great. No bondo. All metal. Original bows and all. Fuel gauge is not operational and needs windshield wiper blades. Four wheel drive works as it should! It could use new tires. NDCC military non-directional tires can be bought from generation jeep’s web site for $80 a tire and the spare on the Jeep is ok. It currently has coop grip spurs on the original Willys rims. Clear title. It is a hop in and go original piece of U.S. history. All you see on the Jeep goes with the Jeep. I will repair anything that may need replacing for a 6 month period as long as the Jeep and the parts to make the repair are both brought to me to do so.”
1946 CJ-2A Seneca, MO **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4300
The other pics are a little dark, but it’s generally pretty stock. The front bumper is unusual.
“1946 willys military jeep, original flathead four cylinder, 3 speed manual transmission, 4 wheel drive with hi and low, has been converted to 12 volt, runs and drives good, brakes work well also, very solid body, front left CV joint will click when turned real sharp and it will leave a small spot of oil when parked, good title, these jeeps are getting hard to find, please call or text only”
1951 Jeepster Canadensis, PA **SOLD**
UPDATE: This was on eBay. **SOLD**
“Selling a very restorable 51 Jeepster. This vehicle has been in storage for many years. The gas tank was removed before storage and is clean and dry. I did have this Jeep running off of a gas can and it runs well and holds good oil preasure and does not overheat. It does have an overdrive transmission. As you can see in the pictures it will need to be restored but is complete.
The floors on the driver’s front, right front, and right rear were repaired and welded in. I have removed the seats so you can see what the floor looks like through out the entire vehicle. The frame and the rest of the undercarriage are in good shape. It has been repainted but does not appear to have any rust bubbles or filler poping out. The right rear fender will need some work as it looks to have been bent and pulled back.

1946 CJ-2A Madison, FL **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $10,000.
The seller notes only 200 column shift CJ-2A’s were made. Given Willys produced the column shift through VIN #38221, I’d say the seller is off by 28,000. Now, if this were a CJ-2 it might be more interesting.
“This is a column shift very rare only made 200 of them made. It runs but need brakes new master cylinder, new gas tank, new timing set,all original except paint. color is green.have owned for 54 years.”

Welders on the Battlefield from Popular Science
Here’s an interesting article in the May 1945 issue of Popular Science about welding on the battlefield that includes several references to using jeeps as portable welding units. There is a copy on eBay for only $5.99. Here are a couple images from the article:
A Photo of Bill Mauldin in a Jeep
Buz found this picture on a biography blog post about Gregory Duncan. Here, Greg is pictured with Bill Mauldin, a photo neither Buz nor I had seen. You’ll notice “Up Front” stenciled on the front bumper, which is also the name of a book published that contains a wide variety of his drawings.
Hand Drawn Ink Poster Originally for Insurance Company on eBay
It sounds like there might be more than one of these posters of the Ford Jeep?
“This is not a photo – it is an artist illustrated Pen Ink Hand Drawn poster print. We have listed a collection of these oversized prints that are from our Automotive Museum Archives. This was our most popular exhibit. To see the others listed go to our Ebay Store and enter = auto pen ink =in the search field.During the 1980’s Pacific Standard Life Insurance Company was selling only life insurance and they decided to add auto insurance to their products and they created an exhibit that was going to be displayed thru out the United States but the project never got off the ground as they ended up filing backruptcy and all their clients became part of Hartford Insurance company. Our Museum purchased the entire exhibit and it became part of our Transportation Museum. Each is handdrawn and that also includes all the lettering. No other Ebay seller will list these as this is an exclusive listing. These are GEM MINT and are on a heavy weight cardstock. Each is matted and the size outside matt is 14 x 14 inches. We accept Paypal.Pay one shipping charge of 6.85 and all others selected will be shipped FREE.
Group your favorite posters together and create your own exhibit of your antique cars. One of the things that makes these pen ink posters so special are features of that years model are identified and some even have the selling price for that respective year. These were done over many decades and were at times featured in newspapers thur out the US. If you are looking for something unusal and a great converstaion piece = you just found it.LC 110”

1961 FJ-3A Fleetvan Tampa, FL **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This runs and drives.
“This is an extremely rare, 1961 Jeep Willy FJ-3. It served as a postal truck in Nashville area and has found its way to Florida. We originally have plans to turn him into an Ice Cream truck, and stumbled upon him while looking for an old Divco, but decided to wait. Our procrastination is your gain. We named him Willy and he would make a terrific promotional vehicle, mini-gourmet food truck, Hot Rod or just a very unique addition to your collection.
The beauty of Willy is how much attention he gets when driving him. I have been around many cool vehicles and Willy gets more attention than anything I have seen. They were only in production from 1961-1965, so he is VERY rare and due to his small size he has the puppy factor. As you can see in the pictures he is the same size as my Jeep Wrangler. This is why he would make the perfect promotional vehicle if you chose not to keep him an brag about him at car shows.
The Jeep FJ-3 Fleetvan was manufactured by Willys Motor and Kaiser-Jeep. This little truck was used to deliver mail (yes you drive on the right side) and later was upgraded to Hot Rod…yes a Hot Rod. Willy has had its original F-134 Hurricane engine with a much easier to maintain Chevy 350, with a rebuilt automatic transmission. Good tires and hard to find Cragar Rims.
Because of its age and uniqueness, it’s the perfect vintage vehicle, The odometer is not working, but Willy has had almost everything mechanical replaced with easy to service parts and it has not been driven except locally. New leaf springs, new tires, new gas gauge, new wiring, Cragar Rims and all the glass is in place . All lights work and he is ready to hit the road.
Dimensions: 135 inches long, 64.7 inches wide and 90.1 inches high.
Potential buyers are welcome to come look at Willy in Tampa, Florida. If you are from a long distance away, you are of course welcome to have someone in this area look at it, or have a mechanic of your choice come by and do so. Just give me a call or email, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask. This vehicle is sold as is and is in vintage but running condition. Buyer is responsible for picking it up in Hillsborough County, FL or can have a car transporter come and pick him up. I am posting a video and pictures to give you an idea of how cool Willy looks and how well he runs.”

1943 Bren Gun Carrier Prior Lake, MN **SOLD**

I know nothing about it, but I think it’s cool.
“A project carrier. Hull number is 2674 which I am told is a 1943 production number. Most of the steering/braking linkage is intact. Nothing torched off. Transmission shift linkage ahead of the bulkhead is also there.
Engine compartment has not been torched up either. Both tracks and the rear end spin freely and can be pushed around easily. Road wheel rubber is in decent shape. Track sprockets are in great shape as is the track.
Shipping can be arranged anywhere. I recently sent a 40′ container to Europe an it was $3800, so be prepared if you are bidding from overseas.
