“61 Wyllis army jeep Best offer”
UPDATE: This sold almost immediately for full asking price of $11,000.
“Purchased in Wyoming in 2005, mechanical systems were gone over carefully at that time without disturbing the exterior patina. Always garaged and driven summers only since in Vt. Very original, purrs like a kitten, ready for another 70 years of work or play.”
Seems like a good price if you want several projects.

“Looking for a classic JEEP ? Well here ya go very well preserved. Has new carpet, mirrors and a smaller steering wheel plus new wheels. This would make you the talk of any Jeep outing. No trades.”
Matt shared this January 12, 1982, article from the Chicago Sun-Times about this Jeepster and its owner, Emily Tupy, who was part of the Mid-States Jeepster Association.
The Jeepsterman announced he will being selling a new bed extension soon.
This book cover landed on Facebook. It appears there was an early (or original) edition publishe din 1952 without a jeep on the cover. The CJ-5 cover edition was published in 1960 (and possibly other years). I do not know if a jeep plays any role in the narrative.
1952: (can be found on Amazon for $14.59)
1960: A copy of this book can be found on eBay for $4.99 plus shipping:

Bill shared this USMC Radio jeep. Note that the title may not be in the seller’s name, given it is a South Carolina title.
View all the information on ebay
“FFrom what I can find out this is a rare USMC 1962 USMC Radio Jeep
Serial # 87509 DoD 8/62
1 of only 500 M38A1 Jeeps made for the Marines in 1962, I don’t know how many Radio Jeeps there were.
This one saw service as a Volunteer Fire Department Vehicle in South Carolina.
Pretty sure it was converted to 12 volts at that time.
Body is Rusty to say the least.
All of the Dash Data Plates are in tack, as well as the Radio instruments and switches.
The good part is that these Jeeps were under coated, so the frame is in really in good condition
And another plus on these Jeeps is that they were ordered with limited slip front and rear differentials.
You will not find that on any other M38A1’s.
That alone is worth the low reserve price.
I put a Battery in it, and it turns over freely
Oil looks good, radiator holds water
19345 miles on Odometer
16 X 7.50 Tires are in decent shape with no dry rot
Part it out fix it up, your choice
I do have a Transferable South Carolina Title”
