UPDATE: **SOLD** Was3500

(01/22/2010) It hasn’t been started in a while.  It looks pretty solid.

“What we have here is a 1957 jeep fc150. It is a 4 cylinder manual transmission. It is complete, but I haven’t tried to start it since I got it. I am pretty sure that cleaning out the carb, putting some oil in the cylinders and fueling it up would do it. There are two places it is rusted through, a small spot under the passenger door and the bed, both easy to fix. Floor boards are solid, interior is complete. The sun has deteriorated the dash, easy to fix There are a number of surface rust spots, a little sandpaper and primer will take care of them. I don’t really want to sell, but I don’t have the time to work on it or a shop to put it in. The last one of these I saw on ebay was totally rusted out, missing parts and apart on a garage floor, the “buy it now” price was $5000. I have it priced at a reasonable $3500.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

This is rough, but it has both a PTO Winch and Newgren Hitch.

“You are bidding on a early model Jeep FC 150 parts truck that has a Newgren Company 3 pt. hitch.  Model #BL 4770.  The truck also has a Ramsey bed mounted PTO Winch set up with the pto and lever still installed, including chains to the sprockets.  The truck had this rare combination installed when bought and was used on a farm.  At one point the Jeep had motor trouble, and the truck was left sitting.  The Newgren hitch is still installed and the truck would work great as a “library vehicle” to see how to install it onto your Willys CJ2A, CJ3, FC150, FC170 ,or CJ3B.  The hitch is in rough condition, but the basic parts are there to use, refurbish, or use as a pattern.  The original hydraulic ram and pump were were not installed on the truck when I purchased the Jeep.  You can use a 12 volt pump and ram from Northern Tool, Grainger, etc.  to power the hitch or look for an original.  Some folks have also used the snow plow hydraulic pumps from Willys vehicles that are a little more common.

Please look at the photos carefully (the red cj2a is NOT INCLUDED!) You are getting a good starting point for an ultra rare 3 pt. hitch setup for a Willys Jeep.  The condition is such that you will need to rebuild, refurbish, and add/replace parts. You also get a pto winch with the attachments to bed mount it, the pto attached to the transfer case and the control lever.  The rest of the truck is included, but would only be good for some parts.  The truck is rolling on its own and I can help load on a trailer.

To aid you with restoration, FARMJEEP>COM has an extensive write up on the restoration, installation, and additional parts sourcing of a very similar hitch.  Please look at theses pictures closely.  The condition requires work, but could add remendous value to your Willys or Jeep when installed and refurbished. Still has the original Newgren Comapny tag.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.

“1962 Jeep FC-170. This is a bone stock truck with the exception of the wheels and tires. Has had alot of work done to bring it back from the dead, runs and drives as well as an old jeep would. 226 Super Hurricane flathead 6 engine, T90 3 speed trans, T18 Transfer case. Since owning this I have cleaned and flushed the fuel system, rebuilt carb, rebuilt the rear brakes with all new parts, including new model backing plates to be able to move the E-brake to the wheels instead of the drum behind the transfer case. Brake is still on transfer case, this was done for later powertrain upgrade. Read diff has had the posi unit rebuilt with OEM clutches, and new axle bearings. Front wheel cylinders are replaced and a new master cylinder. New water pump and clutch. I hate to let this go, I was looking forward to putting in a modern powertain and having a completely unique truck to use, but priorities have changed.”

UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was on eBay

“Up for auction is the very collectible 1962 Jeep FC-150.  It comes with the 4 cylinder hurricane engine and a manual transmission.  This 4X4 is complete with a Western plow which is hydraulic up and down.  The truck does not run at this time.  It has been in barn storage the last 5-6 years and was a running working truck prior to being stored.  I put an older battery in for testing, but the starter just whined and did not engage so the the battery connection was too weak or the solenoid may need replacement.  As you can see in the pics it is rusty and the glass has cracks/chips.  It has an electric fuel pump.  the gas line has been disconnected.  No brakes, clutch pedal feels OK.  I did not check lights.  Plow pump will keep the blade raised but I could not move the plow up and down since it didn’t run.  The undercarriage looks pretty good.  It might be too much work to bring back to original, but might make a good lot plow or farm truck.  The previous owner assured me it was a good running truck but I had little time to spend with it. Radiator is properly filled and the truck seems stock and relatively complete. I do have the engine cover, but it was shown in the pics.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500

(06/02/2010) “This 1959 Jeep FC 170 is in good running condition. It is all original and starts and runs great. It has a Western 7′ snow blade that is in good working condition and included with it (blade not pictured). Original parts manual is included. The driver side window is cracked, tail light needs replaced, and there is a slow leak in the break line. Body is solid and in good condition with a small amount of rust (see pictures). That is to my knowledge everything that I know about it. This FC 170 is currently licensed and registered and is in driving condition. The odometer reading is unverified, but to my knowledge would be pretty close due to the condition of this Jeep. These are very rare and hard to find especially in this condition. If you have any questions you can contact me at 319-385-3399. A $500 deposit will be required immediately at auction ending. Must be paid in full by the time of pick up or delivery.”

This looks great.

“Wow…..here’s a very rare and very unique piece of American Automotive History!!!! 1957 Jeep FC-150 4×4 Pickup. This gem is a well-preserved, 2-owner, ultra-low-mile vehicle fresh out of a private collection, available here to the general public for the first time since in was new!!!  The original owner of more than 50 years lived in a remote area of the Northwest and owned 2 vehicles……..an air-conditioned Cadillac and, you guessed it, this 1957 Jeep Pickup that he special-ordered and bought brand new. One vehicle he used for his weekly commute to town in the summer, the other, in winter. The Jeep lived a privileged life, clocking just a tad over 13K original miles on the odometer!!!!!! The truck has been regularly maintained over its entire life, and looks, runs and drives great. The Hurricane 4-cylinder motor starts easy and runs like a watch. It is easy to drive, feels safe and secure and the cab-forward design gives the driver great visibility and excellent maneuverability. A very rare, very collectible vehicle……and a very rare opportunity……don’t miss out!!! Call today! Tel: 360-416-4995 …”

UPDATE:  Price dropped to $2750 … it appears this was SOLD

“This little sucker is COOL, with a capital K! This is a running registered and stopping Willys Jeep FC-150. Rare little gem that she is, she is the last car I want to sell of the many cars I will be selling to meet this months mortgage, so the price is more than I think it would probably sell for locally unless it went on ebay, but I really dont want to sell it. It does have bad rear cab sorners, and some rust in the floor of the bed, and some at the flat floor areas and door corners etc, but overall is really really cool. I wouldn’t do a dan g thing to her except tinker and drive. She is a blast to drive around town, though she isnt super fast do to really low gears , and the anemic 134? 4 banger. Shoot me offers, but keep in mind I really want to keep it, so I am going to try an sell the others cars cheap first. Willy’s or Willys works also.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6000

The seller provides some nice explanations about each vehicle.

“Hi – I decided to start selling off some of the jeep collection over here – reluctantly offered for sale now is this small group of late 50s / early 60s jeep forward control trucks.

Offering all 3 of these neat trucks for one price of 6 grand —— hope to sell them as a group , but if nobody wants all 3 , will offer them individually. The 1st few years these were built, they came with narrow axles and were known to roll over. The last few years jeep had fixed this problem by moving the leaf springs outward and using a wider track axle front and rear. Also the 1st few years had been known for overheating problems due to poor air flow to radiators, so there were some changes made to their cabs over the years to improve air flow through the grill. There are couple of great websites and owners group sites about these trucks- if you want to learn more.

1st jeep fc-150 here is the red / white truck in the barn… this is a nice and complete / very very original truck with great sheetmetal and was running and driving up until apprx 6-8 years ago when parked her in the barn due to the gas tank leaking. this particular fc150 truck is an earlier model with narrow-track axles but did have a somewhat improved radiator air flow cab. excellent truck to restore or replace the gas tank and tune-up and drive around like she is. this truck is by far the best candidate for fixing up out of them all and the plan was to fully restore this one and had bought a later model fc truck and was going to swap-in the later model wide-track axles to make it safer for driving. original cab and bed in great shape with no bondo or major rust – only rust worth mentioning on this truck is the rust which has started forming around the front and rear windshield rubber seals- isnt a major problem yet but should be addressed before it gets any worse. also–still has original vin plate attached next to seat. this one was always cared for by previous owners and is a great little truck. we installed some wider wheels on it to make it safer to drive around town. very very fun to drive these trucks !!

2nd jeep fc-150 here is the green 1961 / 1962 model truck which still runs and drives , but was originally bought because of its wide track axles and suspension and was going to be a parts truck for restoring the red and white truck in the barn. has many many great parts – or could be fixed up i guess, but this one was being used on a farm and is a bit beat-up and has some rust in the bottom corners of cab along with floor of bed. has very nice windshield and also has original vin plate present still next to seat. also has the full air flow design cab where you can look through its grill and see the radiator. all 4 tires hold air and can drive this one short distances- needs brake work. 4×4 works and everything. many great parts here or could be fixed up and enjoyed.

3rd jeep fc-150 here is this very early model ( 1956 / 1957 ) with the narrow-track axles and the no air flow through its grill design that was famous for overheating problems. this truck is another great southern texas body and still has its original bed. this one hasnt been on the road for many many years and had its glass busted out by vandals apprx 6-10 years ago – but floorboards are still clean overall. this truck was found in san antonio and couldnt resist buying this one to keep around as a spare truck and this one came with its original vin and texas title. would be a good platform for a custom build or keep around for spare parts. has good doors and some extra parts inside too !”

UPDATE2:  Still Available

UPDATE:  Craig confirms that this is a FC-170 DRW; it’s unclear if the diesel is original or if it is a replacement engine (rather than a M-676 with a Cerlist Diesel.)

“I have an FC 150 and an FC 170 that will be sold as a pair. The FC 170 has no motor, trans or transfer case. It was a RARE factory diesel with a Gafner loader. It has a GVW of 9000# with Dana axles. Found a bell housing and flywheel in the cab so I assume it is off the diesel. Odometer shows 7500 miles. The FC 150 is pretty much complete except for the seats. It has a 4 cylinder F134 motor that will be rebuilt shortly. It has the standard bore and reground crank and bearings to match. Waitng for a front seal and valve stem seals. Odometer shows 21,500 miles. I am just stating what the odometers say, don’t know if it is the actual miles or not. Both Jeeps last plated around 1973-74.  I am open to REASONABLE OFFERS. I am not going to give these away so don’t waste my time. I do have more pics if you are serious.”

UPDATE: Was on eBay. **SOLD**

“Very rare (less than 400 believed to ever have been produced, and only a handful raimaining).  Kaiser built these for the military based on the Forward Control Willys platform and powered by a Cerlist diesel engine.  The engine, transmission, and transfercase are missing from this rare survivor.  Survivor may be a strong word considering how beat up this example is.  Nearly very door and body panel is beat up in some fashion.  The irony is that this is a relativley rust-free example of a Forward Control Jeep.  The floors and structural body componenets are solid and strong.

This truck comes with a solid and straight civilian cab and doors that can be used to rebuild this ultra-rare crewcab body.  It has the military bumpers and grill guard.  The military garages are gone.  I have a civilian dash to go with it. It is missing the rear seat, and has no glass.
