“302 Ford engine mildly built with approximately 3,000 MI. Jeep is 98% complete. Needs power steering hooked up, blinkers wired,…but I’ve been driving in the summer this way for the past few years with no issues. Jeep does have black canvas top in great condition. Tires have at least 90% tread left. I seriously only drove this thing 300 miles a year for the past 10 years or so. The engine is an upgraded to: overhead valve version, with 25 more horsepower than the flathead. Engine in good running condition; as well as the 4 WD & high/low.
Work recently preformed: all 4 new springs and shock absorbers, new brakes on all 4 wheels. New wheel cylinders, new master cylinder and brake lines. Replaced all gauges. Replaced gas tank and lines with new. New heater, electric wiper motors both sides. New wiring and fuse holder with modern plug in fuses. New turn signal indicator and lights.
New high output headlights. New gearshift boots and shift knobs. Installed sun roof. Also installed new water pumps and belts. New 12 volt alternator, heavy duty battery and cables. This is a mix of parts. Seller claims the body is a CJ-3A, but it’s an M-38. Those “Desert Dog” tires must be recaps?? The windshield is military, not CJ-2A.

The $1700 price includes the rear PTO and gearbox (I’m assuming the seller is selling the rear gearbox, the shaft, and the PTO … this might not be the case). Without it, the price is $1300. The PTO is also listed separately here.

“This is a well maintained 1946 CJ2A that runs well and is kept in the garage when it is not being driven. Title is clear and Mileage is about 79,000 and climbing since it is usually driven for short trips every week or two during the summer. No front end shimmy. Frame is solid and bumpers are straight. Electrical system is the original 6 volt configuration. All gauges work along with headlights, taillights, blinkers, horn, and dash light. Heater and heater fan work well. The winch was manufactured by Sears and is operated by a hand crank. The body is in decent shape and would be a good candidate to restore. It has a hard top with doors that are easily removed by pushing out the hinge pins and the rear upper gate removes like a storm window. The entire cab can be removed by unscrewing four large wing nuts around the back, and two j-Bolts holding the roof to windshield frame. There is a modified bus seat that fits nicely in the back for more passengers.
Also included are lots of new and used parts such as clutch and pressure plates, clutch rebuild kits (still in WWII packaging), front axels, U-Joints, Carburetor, differential (New still in cosmoline), new in the box sealed beam headlight, starters, tie rods and ends, water pumps and much more….

Has some minor updates.
“I purchased this vehicle from an older gentleman who had owned it for 44 years. He used it in his orchard for several years and then had it in storage for over 30 year. He had done a ton of work on it. The vehicle has rusty floor pans which were replaced properly. He had the body off the frame and had the body work done and painted. About 300 miles ago he had the entire drive line gone through, engine, transmission and transfer case. He had the tranny rebuilt since it had lots of wear.
The leaf springs are all new.
The brakes have all been worked on. The rear drums were able to be turned and were then put on the front with new break pads. The rear drums could not be turned so new ones were purchased but need to be installed along with the brake pads. You can see the hubs and brakes in the picture.

It’s got the early windshield, but does not have full floaters. It runs.
