Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (01/05/2021) Roger Martin shared this plow jeep. It’s got a CJ-5 hardtop and what looks to be a DJ windshield.

(02/06/2021) Looks in good shape. Has the wrong grille for a 1948.
“This is a stunning 1948 Willy’s Jeep that has been carefully restored to be a perfect piece for a collector or a Jeep lover who wants a piece of American History. Purchased with plans to drive as a summer toy, plans have changed and need to find this beauty a great home. Vehicle displays 66,705 miles. Vehicle has been restored and includes many original components, including the engine, transmission, bridge frame, gauges, etc.
Was repainted in a satin fire red color and is a real head turner both on and off the road. As you can see from the pictures, all restoration components were carefully selected to be vintage OEM pieces and the work was done to keep the vintage feel of the era. The jeep includes 1/2 doors with canvas uppers (not pictured) and a full canvas top (as shown).
This ought to be good for tackling desert and mountain trails in the PNW.

This jeep has a fiberglass body. The bumpers might be from Runck (Runck made products out of North Bend, Ohio .. Rick Riley has more examples on Runck products from this 2018 visit).

Willys Jeep. The body has been bondoed and painted. It has an inline strait four-cylinder and a new carburetor. The tires are in good condition. Plexy glass window comes with it. We are not able to get it to run.”
There’s no price on this and the pics aren’t very helpful, but the rear hubs suggest this could well be a 1945 CJ-2A. Also, the serial number appears to start with a “1”.

“1947 Willy’s Jeep shipped from Oregon a few years ago and has been in storage every winter since. Frame is in great shape for its age and bed was sprayed with black truck bed spray long time ago. Good tread on tires. Has tow bar up front to take it on trips or to the trails. Original Willy’s go-devil engine. It runs good. Needs some work, but mechanic buddies say it wouldn’t take much. Not desperate to get rid of “Gretchen”, but could use the space and thought if someone wants it bad enough and throws me the right offer or trade, I would be willing to pass it on to the next guy. A total blast to drive and there’s nothing like an all American Willy’s. So throw me an offer for cash or trade – or a combination – and we’ll see if it makes sense. When it comes to $, would accept the best offer. When it comes to trade, I would be most interested in bare land, camp, possibly the right vehicle (good truck, off road vehicle, motorcycle, etc) musical equipment, farm/homestead equipment, etc….things of fair trade obv.
