Looks to be a DJ-3A body on a CJ 4WD chassis. While a true DJ-3A installed on a 4WD chassis from the factory has yet to be found in the US, the DJ-3A group did learn about a DJ-3A with 4WD that was sent overseas. So, we are wondering if one or more were sold in the US as well.

“This is a project that would be fairly easy to complete if someone has the time. Its a parts jeep to my knowledge an early willys frame and a later model body. The frame is in great shape and body is as well except for a few dents and rust spots in floor. I have a Willy engine that was completely rebuilt and was running smoothly when i took it out. I have tons of parts for it and have done a lot of work but like I said just don’t have time to finish it! I’ve done all the hard work, trust me when I say it will be easier to rebuild than it was to take apart! Looks like a 2A with a DJ-3A body.

“Partially restored CJ2A. Dont have original wheels. Runs great. Sunday driver for us. Body not perfect up close but looks good. Currently a 2wd but have eberything minus the transfer case to switch back over to 4wd. Very simple quick conversion. Upgraded fuel system makes starting etc much easier. Otherwise motor is original as rest of Willys is. Couple options to… wipers and heater.”

Can anyone tell what’s painted on the hood? It’s listed as a 1959, but I don’t see anything DJ here.
