1961 DJ-3A Springfield, MO *SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: DJ-3A

UPDATE: Was $1800. **SOLD**

“I have a 1961 willys DJ3a that has military running gear. The body is in very good shape and the flat head 4 runs extremely well. Has very good oil pressure, does not smoke, drives very good for a 61 willys. The body is sanded down because i was going to paint it to get rid of the cheesy camo paint job that was on it. I have 150 dollars of slate grey metallic paint primer, and reducer and what not that will go with the willys for the right price. Please call and make an offer i am a very motivated seller, I need to get the jeep out of my buddies barn. “

1963 DJ-3A Surrey — Saint Petersburg, Florida eBay

• CATEGORIES: DJ-3A • TAGS: , .

On first glance this looks almost brand new.  But, on a closer look I realized someone couldn’t resist modifying it by changing the windshield.  At first, I thought the windshield was raised and attached to an added bracket; however, after looking at more pictures,  I’d say someone tried to make a CJ-3B windshield fit on it. On such a rare and good looking jeep, I can only wonder why??

“This ultra rare 5000-mile documented original 1963 Willys spent the majority of it`s life on a golf course in Florida. It is believed to be one of the few Surrey Gala models. At some point in it’s life it has had a color change and top upgrade. For the last 15 years it has been part of a private collection. It has never been offered for sale before. It is in excellent mechanical condition and presents beautifully.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $750

“1962 DJ-3A Willys Jeep Dispatcher,4 CYL, 3 speed column shift, needs total restoration, ran fine when parked. Purchased the Jeep roughly 26 years ago. Was my daily driver for years. My son’s classmates used to call him GI Joe when I dropped him off to school. Wanted to restore it with my son but 1 home and 3 children later, he just doesn’t have the time. Title states that it is a 1954 but the vin number says that it is a 1962.”

“THIS RARE 1964 WILLYS DJ-3A DISPATCHER JEEP IS PART OF A LARGE COLLECTION OF ORIGINAL WILLYS JEEPS THAT HAVE BEEN IN STORAGE FOR THE PAST 40 YEARS, AND JUST NOW BEING OFFERED FOR SALE.

THE WILLYS DISPATCHER WAS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 1955 AND 1965…ONLY 13,600 UNITS WERE PRODUCED OVER THE TEN YEAR PRODUCTION, AND MOST OF THOSE HAVEN’T SURVIVED….SEVERAL MODELS OF THE DJ-3A WERE OFFERED, THIS RARE ENCLOSED MODEL BEING ONE OF THEM. THESE HARD TOP VERSIONS WERE USED PRIMARILY FOR BUSINESSES AS DELIVERY VEHICLES, AND ALSO WERE UTILIZED BY THE US POSTAL SERVICE.

THIS PARTICULAR JEEP WAS NOT A POSTAL JEEP, HOWEVER. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT ALL ORIGINAL RARE EXAMPLE, WHICH STILL HAS ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY PAINT, ORIGINAL SEATS AND SEAT COVERS, AND ALL BODY AND MECHANICAL PARTS . THIS JEEP HAS THE POPULAR 134.2 CUBIC INCH 4 CYLINDER L HEAD ENGINE, AND MANUAL 3 SPEED COLUMN SHIIFT TRANSMISSION.

IT ALSO HAS THE OPTIONAL HEAVY DUTY HEATER AND WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER…..GREAT FOR THOSE COLD WINTER MONTHS…… IT HAS NO BODY DAMAGE ANYWHERE.…. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO THIS JEEP. IT IS STILL AS IT WAS WHEN DELIVERED FROM THE FACTORY……IT HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED …. IT STARTS AND RUNS GREAT, HAS ONLY 20420 MILES ON THE ODOMETER.”
