“Car is not running. Needs to be restored. Engine is out in pieces. See pictures. Needs a good home with someone who is looking for a fun project!”
This ad indicates it was placed four years ago, but this is the first time I’ve seen it. Maybe still available? One might be a GPW, but hard to say. The other is likely a CJ-2A.

” I have a WW2 era 1942 Willies jeep/Ford that was originally purchased by my grandfather. It was handed down to my dad and then me. It’s been kept in great shape for its age 82 years of existance, mostly garaged. Everything works, including the new battery, distributer, fuel pump & fuel lines, brakes and brake lines as well. The PTO driven winch was just swapped out for an identical 10K lb rebuilt. You could literally winch yourself straight up a tree. Windsheild can be lowered all the way down. TUBE TIRES, with extreme mud tread makes it almost impossible to get a flat. Added flood lights with a bank of auxiliary switches (for adding on whatever your heart desires; PA, ect.. No rust and starts and drives right now. (Dont forget to double clutch since they didnt have synchro gears way back when.) Asking 12,000 o.b.o.”

“Museum quality WWII army Jeep. Frame of restoration. Runs and drives as it should. Very original”
There could be some value here given the parts. The tub might be a replacement body rather than a GPW body.

UPDATE: **SOLD**
“Registered as a 1946 Willy VIN# on pink slip and registration:GPW52643.
The title is registered to the motor which is a GPW block with a Willy’s mb head.
Clean title & current registration in my name
Toe board gusset serial number:9869
Data plate serial number:113589
DOD 1-20-42
All three original data plates intact, but missing Frame tag
Gpw motor
Correct axels
Original transmission
Body has bondo but overall in good shape for early production slat grille.
Runs and drives
New break lines
New master cylinder
Carburetor rebuilt with nos rebuild kit
12v system
Overall this Willy’s is a perfect candidate for someone who loves WW2 jeeps. Will make a great restoration project for someone. Body does hold some bondo but to be expected with the original body. Floor plans are solid. Frame looks good. Very little rust on the undercarriage, minus the usual gussets.
Very rare only 25,000 of them produced.
UPDATE: **Sold** Was $7500.
John shared this GPW. It will need lots of love!
“1942 Ford GPW Script Jeep with matching serial numbers on the frame, motor and data tag. Definitely a project but pretty rare with the matching numbers. Missing parts include grill, lights, rear seat, air filter, spare tire and carrier, 2 combat rims. Most parts are F marked. Those that aren’t F marked include the windshield and passenger seat. Engine needs one valve tappet freed up. More we’re stuck but we’re freed up with soaking. Engine turns free 1 1/2 turns at which time the stuck tappet stops the rotation. Have not removed head yet but the cylinders, pistons look good and move freely. Body is as shown and the frame will need work on the front rails and rear. Hood needs a patch as shown.”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(09/30/2023) Looks solid with a few updates.

“Runs and drives great. You can drive this rig in parades or cruise in the evening. All original look with axe/shovel. Rare M1 windshield gun rack. The tires are original type, matching spare and tow bar on front. Very solid jeep…needs nothing! During World War II, Jeep could not keep up with the demand needed during the campaign, so Ford contracted with the government to make 300,000 Ford GPW Jeeps using Jeep parts and design. Own a Piece of History!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000.
Could be worth a look.
“This a Script Ford GPW in need of a lot of work. Definitely worth saving, however I’m not the guy for this one. It was part of a bulk purchase I did in order to get the one I wanted. It is crusty, but has a motor trans and transfer and axles. Haven’t turned motor, and don’t have paperwork. It will take some research on your end, however It did come from an old timer that has had it forever, so its long off the books”
Unclear how much value is here.
